This was a very touching moment. This just proves that Nolan’s greatest strength is his empathy…and just generally connecting to people. I know Nolan will be a great TO for Celina.
Nolan's greatest gift has always been his empathy.
Hank from the Chicago pd has empathy
the parallel between his first day and his rookie's first day is amazing
Empathy is a very important skill in police work. Where I attend college as a criminal justice student, we are heavily trained to know how to show empathy towards others. Sympathy just doesn’t work.
Love that the writers incorporated that into the show.
There needs to be a line in the show where he says: "take my advice rookie, you ever fall for a woman, make sure she's got balls"
Please, I don’t know how many Halo fans there would be watching the show, but it would be a wonderful line nonetheless.
@@CLNCJD94I believe the number of likes says it on this comment
ODST? Deep cut, man, well done. But also, he sure as hell did here :)
A single scene doesn't make an episode and certainly not an entire series. However, each episode is full of scene of this quality, which makes this one of favorite series .
He really has come far hasn’t he?! 😀👍Nice work Castle.
Went from award winning author to cop! I guess he's always wanted to play cop like in season 1 of Castle.
Anybody remember when he used to play on one like to live
I remember him from Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place.....with Ryan Reynolds.
@@bubuerrico9950 actually he went from space captain, to author to one of the main hunters from destiny before he landed this role.. love this guy
@@RougeTheDemigod You Forgot bearer of a green ring 😜
Nolan would be a great hostage negotiator
Man is empathetic, he can hold his nerve in crisis situations and he's an excellent problem solver
Hank from the Chicago pd too
This is really why when Nyla Harper Called Nolan 'a Guardian' on their first meet, it was his defining role
First Ray Palmer and now Spooner Cruz. The Rookie taking in ex Legends of Tomorrow characters. Also Nora Darhk on The Rookie Feds.
I’ve been noticing several actors from different shows that I’ve watched appear on here like for instance Nolan’s ex wife is Bones his fiancé is Lucy Lane, Sergeant Grey is a football agent from Lucifer, etc.
@Connor Haines Daniel Sousa from Agent Carter/Agents of Shield is Harper’s ex husband. Cindy Burman/Shiv from Stargirl is Nolan’s brother’s girlfriend. Desmond/Neron also from Legends was Harper’s boyfriend. The true Reverse Flash off of the Flash was also on there once. Also Kraglin off of Guardians of the Galaxy. Pops off of Luke Cage plays Simone’s dad on Rookie Feds. John Diggle has also appeared on there.
All that experience as a ship's captain is paying off.
Take my home, take my land, …..
@@MsPandachen Take me where I can not stand. I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.
@BIGBLOCK5022006 Take me out, to the Black. Tell them I ain't coming back.
I love how the series everyone have some kind of super powers
Nolan is THE policeofficer every policeofficer should strive to be
all the right actors for this TV Show.
Yeah she did some mistakes here and yeah she should have listened to Nolan. I am just glad Nolan decided to give her a second chance. I can't wait to see more of her in this show.
I don't know, kinda meh on her myself.
Not really feeling her. She seems like she’s coming into the program, but she wants to complete it on her terms; that’s not how that works. You don’t join an organization and decide how things should be done.
@johannesjensen1127;:because second chances are a good thing to give out especially since alot of problems are fixable problems. It’s no different than Jackson freezing up to begin with and then he got better and became a good cop because Lopez helped and others helped him find a solution to his problem.
this was uploaded on my bday
I'm sorry but she needed to go on probation for a week or 2.....she doesn't listen she doesn't co operate and that can get nolan killed at any moment in time. I get that shes vigilant but she also needs to pay attention and obey to higher ups
True. She does need to go on probation, but at the same time, an instinct for observation like that is a talent to be forged into a tool under her control.
That's why I agreed about probation. She does need discipline. And I agree that she reminds me of Jackson.
@@danielhaire6677 Part of being a good TO is knowing when to be flexible I think.... Jackson froze during a firefight where officers got shot.... that should've been his last day "by the book", and could've easily gotten Lopez killed in the beginning. He was given the time to work through it, and became a good cop. I like that Nolan is giving this one that same chance.
In short she's a liability and a inconvenience to the LAPD that will eventually get Nolan or another police officer either killed or getting fired.
Just so you know this is a TV show. It’s not real.
from rookie to yoda! well done nolan!
Some people are born to be what they are...... Nolan is one of those people
It’s great to see Chavez after Legends
From chicago to L.A.
He’ll be sergeant by season 7.
I doubt he'll be sergeant, he wants to focus on training the next generation cops so they don't end up like that racist cop who almost left West to die
Maybe the title of the show should've changed when he became a P3.
@@winchesterchua3390 I think they kept as the rookie just because there are other rookies that he ends up training
Wait until she checks Nolan's record. Now, that will be one hell of a conversation.
Rookies can't do that I don't think
@@Uknown76 I think they meant when she’s no longer a rookie lol 😂
That's a checker board ...
I like it better when lisseth Chavez in Chicago pd
She’s everywhere the foster, station 19,Chicago pd this and maybe more
She was even in DC Legends of Tomorrow
it's like she kept her character from Legends then brought it to The Rookie.
From Chicago PD to LAPD
I’m looking forward to Nolan on Plain-clothes Day.
idea:
the rookie: legacy
officer nolan train rookies per season
Nolan is really smart here.
I have to post this here because I have nowhere else to do so. It took three seasons for Lucy and Jackson to become P2s. Four seasons for Nolan because of his extension. How is Aaron a P2 after one season?! So another year has passed in The Rookieverse? Time makes no since on The Rookie. And while I’m at it, in four seasons why is John the only one who had a birthday?!
They stretched the shit out of that first 13 months because the show is literally called "The Rookie", so they needed Nolan to be a rookie for as long as possible. Even with his extra time he becomes a P2 in literally the first 10 minutes of Episode 1 in season 4, so it was still basically 3 seasons.
Now that they are all P2's the time can move forward that much quicker.
@@KS-xk2so I never thought of it that way and that makes total sense, but still! I get that he needs to be a rookie as long as possible, but they probably could’ve wrapped it at the end of season two or the every beginning of season three.
@@chloeclarke9495 I agree. I think they got too attached to the title, thinking they must have some sort of "rookie plot" to make it make sense. Season 1-3 is the gang of 3, Season 4 was Tim as a rookie Sarge, and now Season 5 is Nolan as a rookie TO and also HIS rookie.
“Take my advice rookie if you ever fall for a woman make sure she’s got balls”
Wise words from a great soldier
Spooner!!
An officer that reacts quickly based solely on intuition is an officer that reacts based on bias. Plenty of cops have arrested, shot, planted evidence on innocent citizens because their intuition says they knew something that didn't actually know. Sorry but no officer wants a partner running off half cocked, knowing they'll have to back their play regardless. That's how you get fired or worse, go to jail.
Agreed, acting on intuition is only good where there is evidence to support one's theory. Jumping onto a conclusion based on intuition is a sign of a bad cop.
Unless they only have good instincts.
well if they get the evidence to back it up it should be fine... plus you got the cams these days...
She is a south paw of course she wont let you down :)
Does it bother anyone else that they don't ever seem to be wearing vests?
At least by the most recent season of this show John Nolan is no longer getting push around, told what to do not be called “Boot” and all that because he’s the P2 officer and TO this time around
He's a P3, not a P2, it is pretty clear by the insignia on his arm
Is her character only appearing for this season of Rookie because it would be nice to have her back on Chicago PD. Her character on there disappeared without any explanation.
@SuperMotionCity:I don’t think anyone knows yet since it depends on what happens to her on the rookie and how long her character was meant to be on the Chicago series
@@Megz1794You're right. PD needs another woman on the team!
Don't get me wrong she's actually pretty cute, but realistically she's a liability as a police officer in the LAPD that will eventually get Nolan (her training officer) either killed or probably demoted from a training officer, honestly I don't believe in psychics and/or intuition, but I do believe in inner gut feelings (AKA instinct) but permissions a different story right there, I would say this I would be a poor trainer, because I lack patience and tolerance, so I need a pretty good reason to offer a second chance.
You are allowed to make mistakes on your first day, in fact you are allowed to make mistakes during your probationary period that's why it is called "rookie mistake". You are supposed to learn from them.
It's a Hispanic thing lots of our people believe in witchcraft and superstition
@@amartyaroy3754 exactly plus she’s a rookie her problems can be fixed with time look at Jackson he litterally froze up during like 2 gun fights and Lopez would have gotten killed but instead of writting him up she decided to have his back and help him be a good cop since his problem was easily fixable
This whole psychic/intuition thing she had going on is the dumbest thing ever to put into a cop show like this. She is a liability and has proven that on multiple occasions
@323houseofpain:she’s also a rookie who watched her sister being abducted when she was 9 years old it’s no different than Jackson back in Season 1 freezing up and working out his problem first in order to be a good cop because he was given time to work out his issues instead of being written up
@323houseofpain:also no different than Nolan thinking he knows everything and everyone though he was having a midlife crisis just because he was a rookie at mid 40 years old and he turned out to be a good cop part of being a good cop is letting people fix their own problems first since a lot of problems are fixable
That first time we see it is a bit suspicious. Now, Nolan thought she saw the blood on the car before she got out, but Celina focused on the car before she could possibly see that blood on the back of it, she fixated on the car when it was right next to their car. I think her psychic thingy is real
Lol I’ve never seen the Rookie with a rookie 😂
Some people do have the gift of second sight. You can't measure it with scientific instruments. I believe it's a gift from God, not something a person can turn on and off. When He wants you to know something, you get an aura, a vision, a dream, a word. It's happened to me 3 or 4 times in 71 years, from everything as insignificant as the color of a coat my mom was going to buy me, to a command to call an acquaintance on the anniversary of a bad event in his life.
She'd make an excellent detective. 🤣
Sgt edward buck became a police officer?
Damn...those Linear Men really mind wiped her good. But they couldn't wipe her Alien ESP (or w/e she had on Legends).
Love the show and everyone on it but I'm not really liking Lisseth Chavez's character. Right now she is kind of annoying but I'm sure the character will grow on me.
Am I the only one being annoyed she called him just "Nolan"?? 😐😐
Am I the only one who really disliked his new rook
No I don't blame, you I know this is just a TV show, but realistically the LA Police Department probably would have fired her and her training officer Nolan would probably either had been fired or demoted for his failure.
Aaron was better.
I didn’t her like her at first, but the more we get into the season the more I like her somehow.
@@frankfarmer7706 Highly Doubtful.
I'm more happy for Nolan reaching where he was in the series
Nolan needs to go back to his original haircut lol
She would.have been fine if they didn't give her superpowers
all i see is nathan drake
I find her annoying already lol so sorry
I find this rookie's quirkiness annoying, not cute or entertaining
0:33 is inexcusable. That is no minor transgression. The show should be cancelled. Telling your audience that "some psychics are real" is beyond disgusting. People like her mom exist, but exactly ZERO times did the psychic find a missing person. ZERO times in history.
great way to hollywoodize bias and personal prejudice by calling it "good intuition."
I want Nolan to call her boot
