If you’d like to win, please make sure you subscribe to the channel and leave a comment on this video.
The winner will most certainly enjoy this watch. It has been running nonstop for several days now and is running beautifully, averaging just a couple seconds per day.
You remind me of Wristwatch Revival, you have great potential! You know whats funny, never could afford an automatic seiko watch, here they are between 250-400 $, almost a sallary. But i was always fascinated about them, the movement, also, started my own jurney to repair watches. Some dream to have a Rolex, i just want a seiko. :D
Nicely done!
Beautiful work you do. They are very relaxing and interesting videos.
I got a watch like this for my 16th birthday back in 1976, wish I still had it. Wonderful job!
Great to watch thanks
I’m glad you restore seikos, they made and still make some of the finest watch.
At the age of 64 I still posses every watch I have ever owned except for my "Water resist" pogue that was stolen when my car was broken into over the winter of 1978 / 1979. It was a great joy to see this one so lovingly brought back to life.
I understand the craze behind vintage Seiko models, my father used to say Seiko watches are the working mans Rolex, strong and reliable
Finally finished getting everything together and I'm officially starting my journey as a "watchmaker". I have a Seagull ST36 that I've been taking apart and putting back together. I have 2 Waltham 16s model 1908 wristwatch movements that have been disassembled and are ready to be cleaned. I plan to case these movements and giving them to my 2 sons as family heirlooms. Thank you, Adam, for giving me the confidence to jump into the wonderful world of watch repair!
That is awesome! Thanks so much for the kind words, and I look forward to hearing about your progress!
I'm leaving a comment on this video. ❤❤❤❤😂
Thats one gorgeous watch and I'm a long time subscriber too ❤❤❤❤
Nice mate, I'm learning and have a Tissot I'm very excited to start on just waiting for parts This watchmaking just seems one long wait for parts lol
@andyyoung3233 It kind of is 😆. I'm waiting for a 4th wheel to come in. So far, I've been loving it! I'm still trying to figure out how to use this Horia jeweling tool. I mean, I know what to do, but the balance jewels on this movement I have isn't shock protected, and I can't seem to get them out to replace them since the lower jewel is broken.
Any Seiko repair is a good day. Beautiful watch
You know what for someone who is self taught excent content and she is a beauty you just moved into the second favorite watch making Chanel
Thanks so much.
As a fan of watches and anything space related I’m a big fan of the story behind this watch. Thank you for bringing it back to life!
The '60's and 70's Seiko are just beautiful. Thank you Sir!
No stone left unturned on this movement , a touch of ocd ain't a bad thing when the results are this good , great results & to whoever is lucky enough to win it i'm sure will be over the moon , hats off to your generosity .
This dial when aged is truly fire. Only gets better over the 50 years
I like the design of this 60's/70's mechanical watches. ❤
Greetings from France. I like you channel.
As a beginner watch repairer I am in awe of your skills to detect and correct watch function problems ... amazing ... and thank you for sharing your videos and knowledge.
My wife and I love watching your videos. I myself started watchmaking as a hobby a year ago. Your channel has taught me a lot. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and journey.
Wow, thank you!
I love it when someone takes the time and effort to give a vintage seiko a new life.
Stunning watch. Stunning.
Please know that my comment was showing twice on my end, but I only commented once. Congrats to the winner!
It's Friday, belly is full, opened up a cold beer and started watching this video. Life's good.
I JUST WANT TO SAY. I LOVE WATCHES. You make it fun.
I appreciate that, thank you very much.
Greetings. As a boy, I'd love to take watches my dad found apart. Now, as an adult, I can learn what all those parts are from watching your videos. Thank you .
It looks great now! They did have some great designs and colors back in the '60s and '70s. It's nice to see some manufacturers bringing those features back to newer watches.
Congratulations on approaching 10k subscribers! Hopefully, your numbers will continue to grow -- you deserve it!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much. I’m just pleased happy that people seem to enjoy the videos. It was honestly never about gaining a bunch of subscribers, and I do not make my living off of CZcams, but people seem to enjoy them and I enjoy making them so it’s a nice hobby!
Happy 10K, love the old Seiko's ..... That does look clean inside...
Thanks a bunch. Yeah it looked very clean, and I was actually quite surprised by that. Unfortunately, a lot of problems were lurking in that watch. We got it all sorted out though.
@@WeekendWatchRepair i saw.. like your videos.... But hey, once you you are in to watches .....
One of my brother's most prized possessions was a Seiko like this one. He gave it to me but demanded it back many years later. Brothers!
I know, I've got a few!
It is extremely generous of you to give away such a beautiful watch. I hope your channel continues to grow well beyond 10,000!
Among our talents is your voice. If I were searching for a voice for an ad, I'd be approaching you. Thank you for so many enjoyable moments of watching your skills.
Wow, thank you!
Oh Adam, I love your videos. I love your comments and the way you manage any challenge of repairing or restauring watches. Keep going
I love that vintage Pogue. That dial is timeless.
As a space and a watch nerd, Pogues have a special place in my heart - this restoration was a joy to follow. Thanks!
This was the first watch I ever bought when I was Wiesbaden Germany 51 years ago. You did a fabulous job on this.
Congratulations for 10 000 subscribers ! 👍
Great Vidéo and what a beauty !
Nicolas
I love the antique seikos. They just have a distinctive look their own and I've always held up through time
I think you greatly improved this watch and whoever wins it will be very happy to wear it for many years to come.
Thanks for introducing me to a fascinating hobby. Here's to buying all manner of strange tools. Great videos
I take zero responsibility for the thinning out of your wallet! There's a separate tool for everything, and they are all expensive (to me at least!). Enjoy your watchmaking journey!
Nothing quite like a good ol Pogue. That dial just pops.
Stunning watch. I really enjoyed seeing all the jewel work. The new dial was a good decision.
Thanks a bunch.
Boy, that is one beautiful looking watch! I really like how you include all the details in your commentary and don't skip through parts. Some of the other CZcams watchmakers seem afraid of being too repetitive, but some of us learn from repetition and after a while we begin to understand what the parts are and how they work together to make the watch run. I hope you don't lose your gift of clearly explaining the process to laymen like us. Great Job!
Seiko´s "golden edge" on the chrono era. Impeccable job on the restauration too.
Vintage automatic Seiko chronograph? 40mm?! Yes, please, thank you so much 😅. Great job, and what a lovely piece. We might never see this combination of design elements from Seiko again. A true classic. 😊
These really are tiny engineering marvels. Great to see this one back to form
I’m a huge fan of space and watches so naturally I love this story
"True" Pogue or not, it's still a beautiful 1970s watch, and you did a wonderful job restoring this complicated watch. Thanks.
I am always amazed at your level of competency for being self taught.
Hey, Adam - been watching your channel for a while…Have to say how much I value your scrupulous honesty - and your OCD (being similarly afflicted, or blessed, depending on the circumstance!) You’ve been chronicling your learning process rigorously, and it’s a wonderful teacher. 👍
I appreciate that very much, thank you.
I've been watching your videos for some time, however I never noticed I wasn't a subscriber. This is now fixed!
Your no-nonsense approach and the quality of your work and filming is very much appreciated, keep it up!
I have had this Seiko when I was 17 years old 45 years ago, I can not where I stored it any more. It is a great wait time piece.
As a Pogue owner myself, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. What engineering! Keep up the great content!
Something pretty amazing about the Pogues. As much as I love seiko doing their reissues, i think this is one of the few models I'm happy to leave in the past.
My brother brought this exact kind of watch back from Vietnam in 1971, I was always in love with it.
As a 70's child, I love 70's watch aesthetics, especially Seiko's. Love your work, your honesty, and no nonsense approach. Happy 10k subscribers. 👍
I used to own an identical watch, that was lost during a serious motorcycle accident in September 1978 and I spent the next couple of months in hospital where I celebrated my 21st birthday so was captivated by your video.Thanks. Kevin .
What a gorgeous watch and thorough disassembly. I really love seeing these old seikos come back to life. Many of the old ones are just tossed because the repair and service are cost prohibitive. I'm super glad you love bringing them back. Keep up the great work.
This is probably the most complicated movement that I have seen. Thanks for the video
Many years ago I began repairing cuckoo clocks as I have always been fascinated by clocks. Recently I inherited several mechanical wrist watches and pocket watches from my parents and have been able to take them apart, clean, and oil, and to my amazement they begin keeping time after decades of idleness. That is an amazing feeling. I’m falling in love with wristwatches and I am a little scared I will become a hopeless collector. I owe all of this to watching videos of yours on how to precisely handle the delicate mechanisms. You challenge me, but I’m learning so much. Thank you
Love seeing these classic timepieces getting the care they deserve, thanks for showing them!
Beautiful Pogue. I’d love to add it to my collection. Great video. Thanks, Adam!
This reminds me of a watch my dad used to have like around the early to mid 80's.
What an amazing machine, and skilled watchmaker! I'm fascinated by vintage Seiko watches. Thank you for keeping them alive! I, for one, would wear this with pride!
Great Job. I love to see you bring these great watches back to life. Keep it up!
Thank you for the memories. This was my first watch as a young boy. I think this was around 1975.
Nice work! You turned a rat into a gem! Pure magic, Thanks for sharing your expertise!😎
Love the Pogue. Watching you work is therapeutic for me. TY.
Hi Adam, excellent revival on this watch! She's a looker. 👀 I love your attention to detail when it comes to how the pivots ride in the jewels. Your OCD makes the video a fantastic learning experience! 😁
Thanks Mike. I appreciate it!
Absolutely love the Pogue, so many have terrible service jobs in them, so it's hard to find a good one.
A real beauty! The level of concentration and attention to detail never ceases to amaze me... and on such a microscopic scale!
My first Seiko was purchased from a street vendor in Saigon in 1967. It died a couple of years back and I do miss it.
Thanks to watchmaking creators like you, I appreciate watchmaking a lot and try and learn a lot. I find the tiny machines fascinating. Keep up the great content.
Just a quick reminder on a parts and tools guide to give us a little head start and some confidence we are getting legit stuff on our own projects.
I am actually hypnotised by that dial, you opened it up and I had to grasp my air. Love ❤️ the watch.
I'm a relative newby to watch making, but find it fascinating. Its channels like this that inspired me to take on this hobby and can't get enough. This video is great by the way.
I still say this is one of the best Seiko watches ever made, my favourite. Great restoration, well done, keep up the great vids.
I really like the old Seikos, they are real synonymous with quality
You are the David Attenborough of watches.
Haha!
Great job on correcting previous botched efforts. Such an iconic piece. Nice of you to be so generous for your 10k giveaway.
Great work! I lust over the idea of trying my hand at repair but I don’t have the nerve or patience for it. So keep the videos coming for my sake 😂
Excellent restoration. What a beautiful watch. Not only do I want that watch, but that watch wants ME!
I think this is absolutely therapeutic, I love watching your videos .
Thank you for making this hobby so fun to watch...Your light-hearted narration makes for an enjoyable experience...
Good video, its hard for me as a roofer to comprehend how miniscule everything is inside a watch and how much knowledge and patience is needed to mend one.
Oh man. I have been hunting a 6139-6005 for a while. I love these.
Iam jealous of your cleaning machine, I am not far in to my watch making journey, but these videos make me push to be better each watch.
That's great, thank you.
This is like a grail watch for me and I'm sure for a lot of other people. Such unique warches, even today they still look modern.
Good job saving this one! it looks like it was a lot of work and extra money but you gave it a new life. I'm sure whoever gets to own it will be very grateful.
Watching this video while wearing my own 1972 Pogue, talk about a coincidence 😊
My father loved Seiko watches and had one he got overseas serving in Vietnam. He wore it until his death in 92.
Watching this from my hospital bed, after I smashed my elbow in a cycling accident. Recently I did 4 6138B’s for a friend of mine. 3 bullheads and a Kakume. I had the service manual, but your video’s were a TREMENDOUS help with the assembly and troubleshooting 🙏❤️ thanks a 1.000.000
Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you found them helpful. I hope you have a quick recovery.
Great fix on the slop in the side shake in the barrel and arbor using the 1x4 wood block! love when someone “macguyvers” a procedure! Right up my alley!
I cannot get enough of watch restoration! Great cinematography and shots.
Nice idea to promote your channel with a very nice Seiko, love to watch your videos!
Very nice work, as always, Adam! I love that we're finding these old Seikos, breathing some new life into them, and then sending them out into the world again.
Thanks Matt. I couldn't agree more.
Your intro is one of the best! Really enjoy watching your videos.
I appreciate that. I was considering dropping it from the video. I didn't know if people really cared to see it, but I enjoyed putting it together. Thank you!
I watch a number of watch repair videos and find yours thorough and interesting. Thanks for your effort and time.
Wow! I never had so much fun watching a watch repair video. I also enjoy the pace as I really learn and remember a lot, and it makes the viewing so much more enjoyable compared to most similar channels. I will be back, soon looking forward to the next one.👍
Turned out gorgeous. Very cool seeing the guts of a Seiko automatic chrono from back then
I also wanted to mention that I am taking the Mark Lovick courses you mentioned. Good classes.
They are. He does a great job.
After having several technical/craftsman careers in my 58 years, (Electronic repair, automotive technician, professional photography…) you have fueled my fire for watch repair!!!! I have recently accumulated a dozen or so 1970s Seikos in various states of running/appearance! And of course about 800$ of used and new tools! My wife has no idea of this process, but every few weeks she spots a super cool vintage Seiko- with a super cool vintage dial on my wrist and says WOW that’s cool! It’s good for one’s marriage, yes?
That's fantastic! As far as if it's good for one's marriage, I'll refrain from any further comment, haha!
When a watch repair video in full movie length got your audience glued to the screen, you can be sure, you have done everything right.
As always, this video is informative (sometimes educational) as it is entertaining.
Congratulations to the 10k milestone, imho it is well deserved.
Thank you very much.
Congratulations on 10K subscribers! What a great repair and giveaway to mark the milestone.
Wow what a process, I came to the channel after seeing some folks commenting about your work. Love the stuff from the 1960's and 70’s so this one was a treat. You do great work indeed.
Beautiful job. My grandfather had a similar watch years ago. Nice to see it restored to its former glory.
I love watching every single one of your Seiko Chronograph videos. You, sir, are a true inspiration to me in my watchmaking journey!
Heh - that was me noting the single-tweezer Diashock spring a few months back. Now I watch every time if you're going to be so bold again...
Haha!
