    The ominous continuation from "No reason to get excited, the thief he kindly spoke" as the Cylons compromise the Colonials to "But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate" as the Valkyries and Vipers drift helpless.
    The beat picking up steam as Scorpia Fleet Shipyards gets ravaged by Raiders, reaching a climax as Scorpia itself is glassed by nukes.
    Pegasus fighting to come undone from drydock as people run along the outer flight pod, reaching a desperate moment of jump (and suffocate anyone still out there) or die as "Two riders were approaching", and as Pegasus jumps "The wind began to howl".
    Yes, I do believe this makes excellent use of thematic imagery.

    • @cifer1607
      @cifer1607 Před rokem +1

      @@awabooks9886 The series doesn't do shields, but it does damage control. Remember Tigh sealing off an entire section of the ship in the first combat to expose it to space and put out the fires? The new battlestars likely couldn't do that due to the virus. They probably couldn't even coordinate their repair teams.

      @@cifer1607 I thought not, but seems like you need "something" to counter nukes, which they definitely identify.
      The big ships appear to employ entire layers of offensive and defensive munitions. On the newer battlestars, those munition layers were likely software controlled, so immediately defeated by the Cylons before combat started.

    • @jmkhenka
      @jmkhenka Před rokem

      I think the real problem was the colonies fought no wars, they where passive and they had a untested navy.
      In a real enviroment they would have been forced to adapt continously - making redundant systems and thuss eliminiating the risk of a simple virus to kill their entire fleet.
      They had untested software in production enviroments and thats just idiotic. Just like a human immune system, it needs to be constantly challenged to be healthy. Galactica was made with an entire different mindset as it was tested by fire.

      The entire theme of the series is this has all happened before and will happen again.
      The implication is that the music transcends time and consciousness, it was written by a Cylon (Anders) hundreds of thousands of years ago and is rewritten later in time by an American (Dylan) then covered again and again etc. The greek gods and other 'more modern' themes persist throughout the series, making a lot of BSG seem almost like a parallel reality when it actually turns out that Gemenon etc are just historically corrupted versions of Gemini, etc.
      Personally my belief is that there is a god in the BSG universe. Kara dies and is reincarnated, unaware, as an angel, tapping into the collective consciousness which allows her to remember a previous life with her father playing the music.
      The music is a signal to activate the final five, who are all tied to the music and the collective consciousness which Hera, Starbuck, Roslin and a few others are connected to or sensitive to at least.

How i miss this show, nothing has been "must see TV" since....although the first few seasons of Dexter and BB came close. it is approaching 20 years old, was made on a shoestring budget by Sci-fi, and STILL blows anything HBO/Disney/Paramount produces out of the water.
