  • After a couple of days in Paris, I took a train to London and for my first meal, I ate some English breakfast. Then I went to tour around London and stopped by Chinatown and eat some dry hotpot.

The thing about British food in general, and this is something Orwell wrote an essay on, is that the best examples of it are generally found inside private homes rather than in restaurants. Gastropubs have started to feel that void somewhat, and our local does a decent roast dinner, but if you want a nice roast you'd be better coming round to my house.

We don't eat breakfast like that every day haha, usually on a Saturday or Sunday. And yes black pudding is really delicious! It's pigs blood/chopped fat/herbs and spices wrapped in an intestine and you can either boil it in its sausage form, or you can cut it up and fry it. Also, our sausages are really good and a lot like the Germans, we have a lot of variety of sausage....we also don't just have sausage for breakfast, we have a dish called bangers and mash, which is sausage like you had for breakfast, mashed potatoes and we have it either with baked beans or onion gravy or both! :) different regions of the country have their own speciality foods, so you will have to come back and travel all around the UK and taste all the different foods we have to offer :)

I do think British Chinese food is better than any I had in the US. In virtually all you could ask for a specific dish and if they had the ingredients they would make it.
