  • In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

    There's somthing to mention about the "I have nothing to hide" Argument, and it's pretty simple. What you did in the past may comply with the law of today, but may collide with future law. Therefore anything you ever did&wrote can turn against you.

    • @yosefmacgruber1920
      @yosefmacgruber1920 Před 7 lety +8

      It is not just that, but paranoid corrupt governments such as that of The United Slaves of America, are hardly looking for mere "compliance" with the so-called "laws". Those evil Satanist witchcraft manipulators are looking to manipulate and corrupt the entire world. So it isn't just what you might have done that might be wrong, but rather, who can they manipulate.
      Didn't I see something some time ago, that corrupt government wanted to have a much-more-complicated passport application form? Including questions about who your relatives are. Now what could they possibly need that information for? Presumably, so if you manage to escape from their evil clutches, they can know who are your relatives who are still stuck in this evil police state, that they might torture so as to manipulate or threaten you - even though you think you did nothing wrong.
      What does the saying "Gun registration is a prelude to gun confiscation" mean? I think that would be an example of the point that you were making.
      And "persons of interest" seems to be increasingly meaning, people who might be critical of the government. Whatever happened to free speech? A corrupt government who considers its own subjects to be its enemies, is so corrupt as to be illegitimate. In the past, weren't such backwards manipulative governments, called "communist"?

      +Mark Edwards
      Who has time to read through all those fake laws of liar politicians? Upon what real basis are hardly any of our supposed "laws" based upon? We even have fake elections in which dead people are allowed to vote DemocRAT, and how many millions of illegal immigrants voted for Obama, who was ineligible to run for the office of President, what with him being born in Kenya, hating the country, and all?
      Maybe more people should explore leaving Babylon America, while they still can, before the next major false flag, such as that 9-11 was an inside job.
      Yeah, breathing is probably "illegal" by now, yet we have no real choice but to breathe? ObamaCare, a tax upon breathing. Unbelievable, that evil politicians would charge a tax upon breathing, when God gave us the air for free.

    • @mikitz
      @mikitz Před 6 lety +1

      +Mark Edwards The Patriot Act is a massive travasty of justice. If you're not from the future, you can't be prosecuted for your legal actions. For instance, our (mine and his) president was sent to jail for our own little 'patriot act' after WWII for (the President) abiding the law. If you live in America, kiss your little liberties goodbye. I want to press upon you that this is not trolling.

For many (me included) it seems to be difficult to understand that our privacy is actually being invaded by foreign governments and how serious the consequences of that invasion can be. Let's imagine a war started between US and Europe. By exposing private information about European politicians and soldiers, US could easily cause massive chaos in Europe.
    We are allies now, but nobody knows what the situation is 50 years from now.

    It's very easy to open up your cell phone and disable the GPS chip or install a power switch to disconnect the power entirely in phones with built in batteries such as iphones... I retasked the ringer switch on my i phone 4 to function as a hard kill power switch. Then you don't need to disable the GPS function as it does come in handy. If you want to not be tracked simply flip the switch. You can't track a phone with its battery disconnected...

      You speak, write and talk differently if you know you are being watched, don't you? The Reason people talk so much shit on the Internet is because they think they are anonymous. But that is also enabling them to express their maybe unpopular opinions. Take the Polls in recent election as an example: Right leaning candidates lose in surveys, but win in the election. Why? Because the election is anonymous and people therefore express their real opinion there. Not that that outcome is particularly nice in my opinion, but that's how democracy works.

    I realize this is an old video, but I just saw it for the first time. I find his sense of outrage somewhat amusing. He calls the U.S. a surveillance state, but European countries have been doing this and far more for years to their own citizens. In England, virtually everything is monitored via a CCTV system with more cameras, per capita, than any other three countries combined, including Russia.
    I am not implying that his facts are incorrect, just that his outrage is a little misplaced. If he thinks that the EU's version of the NSA doesn't know they are sharing information with the NSA, then maybe he is just a little too naive.
