  • A change of pace for the channel, in this video I install Duraflap mudflaps on my brother's Ram 1500. The flaps he chose have the black powder-coated weights installed that look amazing. Another extremely well made product from Duraflap!

You really explain yourself well. I never thought of the grooves on the one side. This is the way I will go. I watched the other video too, looks good.

Thank you for this install info. Still as pricy as gatorbacks but they seem to be easier to install as gators need the installer to drill holes in the wheelwell and body. Plus gators are more rubber meaning they will bend more possibly look off in time in cold weather unlike duraflaps that will stay straight as they're more of a solid material. Plus in my case being without a garage I could do the duraflaps myself in the snow outside In short order with little tools needed. The gators I'd more than likely have to pay to get them installed which is roughly 150dollars. So dura makes the final price cheaper in all.
Only thing I worry about is not measuring everything perfectly ending up with flaps that don't fit as snug as yours did here. I too have a dodge 1500 it's a 2017 sport though with after market rims and tires or I'd just ask you guys what your measurements were. I could have gotten weathertech flaps from a accessory store installed there with all flaps for 130dollars but they won't fit my front axle cause I have runners. The weather techs wrap up to the fenders then drop down.. so to make all the flaps look the same I need straight drops like with these here.
Well thanks again have an awesome new year!

Nice tutorial! I bought a set of Weathertechs but haven't installed them. Maybe good for a car but not going on my Ram. They are just too narrow. Looking for a no-drill mudflap that stays off the paint and at least 12" wide. These Duraflaps look perfect. Are you still recommending them or has something even better come along?

These are my go to flaps for the exact reason you mentioned, wide and no contact with the paint

Ordered a set yesterday. I opted to remove the plastic trim on 2020 Ram 1500 Classic that covers the front pinch weld and runs up the edge of the fender. 300mi on new truck and that trim had already scored the paint!

Nice product but I really question how much those weights are needed at all seeing how stiff that rubber is.

Think it's just for style. Though if driving on dirt roads alot seems that in time rocks might eat through the flap which the metal would then be hit but still cover the holes not looking like crap after a few years which adds to their longevity. This is just a guess though.

What is the width of the mud flaps?

Thanks will they work if you have bushwacker fender flares.

lance phelps you will need to let duraflap know which fender flares you have. These flaps I installed were cut to fit around the OEM flares.

What length flaps are on the Ram. Have a 2014 Ram that needs flaps.

lance phelps these are the standard length flaps that hang about 7” down, plenty of coverage in my opinion
