- Steph Curry was ejected last night after throwing his mouthpiece after being frustrated with a three-point attempt from Jordan Poole that went long. With just over a minute left the Golden State Warriors were up two on the Memphis Grizzlies and held on to win 122-120 thanks to a Jordan Poole layup that left only a second left on the clock. Poole had some fun with Steph in the tunnel after tossing his mouthpiece against a wall before embracing Steph. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react.

It wasn't that Poole took the shot. Its that the Warriors had a fresh 14 seconds after the offensive rebound and Poole took the shot right away. Every second matters in the last minute. Steph was frustrated with the bball IQ because its been an issue for the team so far this season.

Exactly in that situation it wasn’t the shot to take. Up by 2, 1 minute left, early in the shot clock and from like 5 feet behind the 3, it was a terrible choice by Poole. They already hugged it out in the locker room and Poole actually mocked him, they good nothing to see here.

Poole shot a 30 footer with 12 seconds on the shot clock, only up 2, with less than 2 minutes to go. That's why Steph was frustrated.
After they had spent the whole quarter fighting back from a 10 point deficit, and with Steph standing right next to him asking for the ball. Steph wasn't going to shoot a long 3, he was going to run down the clock and try a higher percentage play to consolidate the lead.

How can you watch a game for as long as Skip has and still have such a small understanding of the game? Steph wasn't mad because he wanted to take the shot, he was mad because he didn't want the team to take a shot at that time. They were up two, just got an offensive rebound, had 13-14 left on the shot clock with less than a minute and a half to go. You don't throw up a shot in that situation, you use clock and try to get a good shot. But you can't expect Skip to actually understand basketball.

The thing I can’t stand reading comments on the internet is this smug “well he made the game winner so…” I don’t know who follows Warriors basketball regularly but for the past month, Poole has been playing hero ball and failing. I think it was the Hawks game that went to 2 overtimes. They had multiple chances to win, but the common denominator is Poole. It was him doing too much, testing new dribble moves, falling on his face and losing the ball out of bounds. Or skipping the open look to take a shot he shouldn’t have took and missing. The redhead from Sacramento bailed him out with a clutch Robert Horry shot. Then Klay in OT. Then Looney with the game winner. Amazing basketball, but shouldnt have even gone to OT. Poole’s hero ball sent it there. There’s other examples I can’t site right now but there’s a lot this month. I don’t know if he has something to prove after the Draymond punch, but he’s not that guy yet. He can’t be trusted with the game on the line. So yeah, if Curry wants the ball with the game on the line, you give him the ball! I’m glad he got that bucket obviously. Any win against the Grizzlies is accepted. But Poole’s selfishness is what got Curry that heated. Wasn’t it damn near a logo shot he took?
