I always admired how while Butthead tended to bully Beavis a little and be dominant in their friendship, he wasn't too concerned about having the upper hand to admire when Beavis was doing something cool and was enough of a true friend to praise Beavis for it.
Excatly shows Butthead has his mature moments, he aint always bad. he laughs it off and is being supportive and he accepts his alter ego, he thinks hes pretty cool. To the point where he follows and copies beavis's cornholio and intimates it once, Butthead does have shining moments. The other reason why it seems repetitive is because it happens with tons of shows throughout animation history. Every era of animation goes through styles that lots of other rival companies copy in a similar sense for example Hanna Barbera looking styles were a thing for a while, as well as He-Man looking shows. Soon someday kids will be saying the same thing about future styles saying they wish it was more like the Cal-Art style. It's just the cycle of art.
