      It's not black and white, it's more like you stop at some point, when it gets too ridiculous. Most vegans for example buy normal vegetables, but these are almost all fertilized with animal poop. I see why people would react to that with "come on!" but there is an actual price on that animal poop, and vegetable farmers buy that stuff, which undoubtedly increases the profitability of the meat industry. But you don't buy the alternatives, because they are too difficult to get, you don't get the variety and you'd have to cook literally everything yourself, and it would simply be completely ridiculous to waste so much time and energy. So you just say fuck it and you pay for the animal poop.

    Thank you for doing what you do, Cip. Who am I to give you advice on what you could've done different, since you do so much more for the animals than I do, but please allow me to give my opinion. I think your mistake when talking to that man was that you led with the (obviously) correct fact that we don't need animal products to survive and thrive, because the mistake was that you pissed his ego off. I think in hindsight, it would've been better to not challenge that point at all to begin with, and just say "Let's say hypothetically, it is true that we don't need animal products to survive and thrive. If that hypothetical is true, do you still think what we are doing to animals is okay?" The difference is that his ego would not have been punched in front of his wife, and his guard might not have been held up so quickly, as I believe that is the moment that he was no longer willing to listen to your words and argue in good faith. Again, who am I to judge you, you probably fine-tuned your approach over the many many talks you've had with strangers, so maybe you know better. You don't know me, but I love you. Eating meat/animal products makes it a lot easier to achieve nutritional goals like protein so it's not exactly wrong. And for some people it is a need when you think about things like price. Now sure "must eat animals" is an massive exaggeration but for some people that exaggeration is actually true. Some people can do body building or power lifting with a vegan diet but for the rest of us it's extremely hard. And that difficulty makes people disregard the moral reasons.

    • @MoistVegan
      @MoistVegan Před měsícem

      @@cream6237 what if you were to find out that it’s cheaper. If you go to chalenge22 and subscribe they help you get the best nutrition for your buck for free for a plant based diet. Why not do that? Do you really wanna keep exploiting animals?

    • @cream6237
      @cream6237 Před měsícem

      @@veganpowerlab But it's not really cheaper, meat gives the HIGHEST amount of protein. So when you look at a pound of chicken and compare it to vegan alternatives they just can't compete, the chicken wins hands down on protein per $, and taste damn good aswell. Now I will give you something, vegan/plant based protein powders are actually fairly cheap, I haven't personally had any of them but I hate protein powders in general so it doesn't matter too much to me.
      "Do you really wanna keep exploiting animals" How am I directly exploiting animals? I might be indirectly doing it, but so are you. Do you not know how many animals get killed while cultivating YOUR FOOD? I'm sure you've seen my other comments dude but I'll give you a quick run down on why I personally don't go vegan.
      As I've said multiple times in replies to other people's comments I believe there are 4 upsides and 1 downside to a non vegan diet. Now non vegan diet just means anything is on the table. First upside, price as I've explained earlier in this same comment. Second upside taste/fun/destressing, those 3 things all kind of correlate, the taste is good so I feel good and am less stressed very simply put. Third upside which is a minor one I don't have to be super picky, I'm already fairly picky since I need to look at stuff like carbs/fats/protein and calories, but then you gotta look at ingredients way way more. Fourth way more nutritional and higher in protein. Getting to my required amount of protein which is like 180g per day is already fairly annoying even with chicken/eggs/milk so it'd just be painful if I had a vegan diet instead. Some people can definitely pull it off, but not me.
      The single downside is morality which can be a huge deal or basically nothing depending on the person. I am not the type of person that questions myself when I eat chicken, I just enjoy the chicken cause it taste damn good. Clearly morality isn't a big deal for me when it comes to that type of thing cause I NEED MY GAINNNNNS.

    As a vegan myself, I understand the passion behind the lifestyle, but it's important to approach discussions about diet and ethics with empathy and respect. Aggressive or manipulative tactics often do more harm than good when trying to share our perspectives. And this is what I felt from you. As vegans, most of us have to supplement and pay more for the veggies to maintain the full diet. Not everyone can afford that.
    It's crucial to acknowledge that the science around nutrition and sustainability is complex. In some regions, crops cannot grow efficiently, but animals can graze and provide sustenance. Additionally, livestock can consume parts of crops that humans can't digest, potentially reducing waste in our food systems.
    It's a valid point veganism being a relatively recent dietary choice in human history. Our species has indeed evolved consuming both plant and animal products for hundreds of thousands of years. While many people thrive on a vegan diet, it's true that we're still learning about the long-term effects of plant-based diets on human health across diverse populations. You want to do it? Do it on your own risk. Because there is one associated with it.
    It's important to approach veganism, like any significant lifestyle change, with an open mind and a willingness to continually learn and adapt based on new information and personal health needs. While veganism can offer many benefits, it's not necessarily the right choice for everyone, and that's okay. The goal should be to promote health, sustainability, and ethical treatment of animals in ways that are feasible and beneficial for individuals and communities.

    • @animalsareherewithusnotforus
      @animalsareherewithusnotforus Před měsícem +6

      no one was agressive. why is it not right to use strategic questions which lead into the subject of veganism? sometimes people need to be uncomfortable before they can change. veganism is not a lifestyle choice. it is an ethical position.

    • @wounky93
      @wounky93 Před měsícem

      For some, veganism may not be the optimal choice, and that's perfectly acceptable. The emphasis should be on promoting health, sustainability, and ethical treatment of animals in ways that are feasible and beneficial for different individuals and communities.
      It's equally important to address how we advocate for dietary choices. Convincing others through manipulation, aggression, or disrespect undermines the ethical principles many vegans hold dear.
      Ultimately, adopting veganism is a personal decision that should be made based on comprehensive knowledge and self-awareness. The author should have some respect for the people he speaks with ❤

      while the intent to raise awareness about animal rights is valuable, the manner in which the message is delivered significantly affects its reception.
      Aggressive behaviors like using a condescending tone, displaying hostile body language, asking loaded questions, disregarding responses, and mocking the interviewee can be counterproductive. These behaviors create a hostile environment that can provoke defensiveness, resistance, and resentment in the interviewee.
      Instead of fostering understanding and empathy, such tactics often alienate the audience. Effective advocacy should focus on respectful dialogue, providing information, and encouraging thoughtful consideration. Blaming or shaming individuals for their choices typically results in backlash rather than positive change.
      Promoting awareness through empathy, respect, and constructive conversation is more likely to inspire genuine consideration and behavioral change. It's important to recognize that eating meat is a personal choice influenced by various cultural, social, and individual factors. Advocacy should aim to inform and persuade through respectful engagement, not coercion.
