  • In this episode we cover some cool mods on the mini jeep. We add a winch, fuse block, volt meter, and some additional lights with their own switch. We also do a speed test to see how fast the jeep goes with stock tires and sprockets. Be sure to like comment and subscribe and thank you all so much for the support!

    Awesome video! In case anyone wants to know how to stop the beeping from the turn signals it's coming from the turn signal relay. I plugged mine with foam.

    🥳
    I’ve been impatiently waiting for this vid, but it was worth it. Mrs. Higgs, you did a great job with the post production!
    Dialectic grease will be your friend . Keeps moisture off of those terminals. Yes… moisture will still get into that box.
    Maybe use a moving blanket (100% cotton) to shield the fuel tank next time.

      Thank you for watching! She did do a fine job!
      That’s a great idea. I think I will place the grease on each terminal to help with any moisture.
      I should have used a welding blanket or even a welding shirt to cover it for sure!
      Thanks for the comments and great advice!

    I would recommend mounting the winch on a removable receiver style winch mount... This way you can use it both front and rear and you could also use the receivers to tow small trailers for things like light yard work/day rides you could use anderson plugs for quick winch power connection as well or for charging/jump starting... Another great mod is to add a 12v power outlet with weather cover front rear and center with at least 10amp capacity each, Granted the charging system doesn't put out alot of amperage but if used one at a time or for light power draw they can be used to charge a phone, run a tire inflator, electric cooler (possibly located in a small trailer during a day of trail riding), etc.

      @@Higgsgarage something you will want to watch for is the wireless winch has a known problem with parasitic power draw killing batteries if vehicle isn't used for a day or 2... I would recommend either installing a master power disconnect inline to the wireless winch controller or converting to a hard wired winch control switch.

    • @Higgsgarage
      @Higgsgarage  Před 5 měsíci

      @dodgeme1986truck yes it does 100% have a parasitic draw. I installed a battery tender to keep plugged in when not in use. A master cut off would be a good option too! Thanks again!

    I have that same exact heater for my shop and you can use diesel in that just do not use gasoline. It’s just like a jet heater jet heaters can run on diesel fuel or kerosene just like their Chinese counterparts. The Chinese diesel heater can run on kerosene as well as diesel, just in case you didn’t know now you know

      It seems good for this application! You can even get lucky with a coupon and get it a little cheaper.

      @dodgeme1986truck Před 5 měsíci +1

      Just remember to add a master power disconnect inline to the wireless winch controller box as they are notorious for parasitic draw, killing the vehicle battery the other option is to convert to hardwired winch controls

    If you could put a brush guard on front and mount led lights on it, could be brighter.

    • @Higgsgarage
      @Higgsgarage  Před 5 měsíci

      You could do that and it definitely would be brighter!

    The Tao Tao 125cc atv will top out at about 30mph, but it’s probably geared a bit higher because it weighs a fraction of the jeep.
    That’s how you turn you jeep around on a super narrow trail! 🤣

    • @Higgsgarage
      @Higgsgarage  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Haha ya you could definitely use it to turn around in a bind!

    why didnt you just use larger gauged wire and mount the fuses in a box in the cab? wast of a lot of room for later mods.

    • @Higgsgarage
      @Higgsgarage  Před 3 měsíci

      I did not want it in the cab. I wanted it in the engine bay. There will be no later mods in the engine bay that I will be doing that requires me to need any of the room that box took up. If I do however change my mind I can relocate then.

      Because I have one. And I wanted a mini jeep.
