Paul wrote this song over 55 years ago, and it looks like most of the people in the audience are much younger than that. And yet, they all know all the lyrics, and Paul could have just started the song, stepped away from the mic, and the crowd would have finished the entire song note for note. That's when you know you're in the presence of a true musical genius whose music will still be enjoyed for centuries to come. God bless you, Paul McCartney.
@@bradbackauthor9940 Why is Yesterday so great? It is a simple verse. There are no instrumental flashes or hooks. The singer need not stretch his range to sing the song. It is a beautiful song in part because it refuses to conform to the conventions of what a rock song should be.

how powerful the feeling must be, to be playing in front of an audience who absolutely adores you, full of people who weren’t even born when you wrote the song they’re singing along with you
I was at this festival performance standing near the front of the stage after waiting 4 hours for him to appear. It brings back many memories, especially a couple in their late 40s near me hugging, and singing this song, and by the end the man had tears rolling down his face. It reminded me of how songs can mean so much to people.
John and George are singing with Paul right now. Forgiving each other and telling escorted they love each other. George all healthy and cute and the same as John. Hugging, they will always be remembered
So iconic song, even it’s just very short- you’ll seldom hear any remake or extended versions- it’s always good by itself untouched unaltered. His voice is amazing, never gotten old.
The first time i heard this song i cried. I couldnt understand how such a song could relate to my life on so many levels. The Beatles have influenced me in such ways i didnt know possible. I am so glad i found this song or the band as a matter of fact because theyve helped me through some tough times. thumbs up if that has ever happend to you.
Nowadays, it is so easy to release singles, and I can notice that since I am always searching for songs to listen to. However, the problem is they don't have that quality that makes me want to press the replay button nonstop. I am still in awe with this type of song that no matter how many times you listen, it still feels like you hear it the first time. I don't say artists of today are not talented, but they seem to lack the passion for creating songs that can stand the test of time.
+Eduarda Rodrigues All human voices get a little lower with age. The voice is still fine and the same and the intonation is perfect. Same with Tome Jones he's still as good at 75 if not better. BB King kept it going to 85. Paul is a great guy.
It's got to be a pretty amazing feeling when your simple, soulful message gets sung back to you in such a way, by so many people of several generations.
Tuve la suerte de verlo a Paul en Buenos Aires 2 veces y en Winnipeg Canada por tercera vez. Ahora me puedo morir tranquilo (a pesar que nunca lo pude ver a Elvis ni a The Beatles).......
I had this lucky night in Amsterdam 2015. When starting playing "Yesterday" you think this can not be real. It's really really unreall! I was an amazing experience! Indeed your thinking am i dreaming, or what?
I feel so sad for Paul at times. He might just be thinking how he used to play and sing that song with his brothers back in the day. And...it's just him now. Dear Lord how much we miss The Beatles.
Since 2008 and before 2012, I used to love to play classical music on the piano very much (the piano was my first instrument ever since my 7 years in 2008 and classic music was my first genre since my 7 years in 2008). My grandparents saw that I've tried to play the piano before 2008 and that's why they decided to get the piano teacher for me back then. In 2011 I wanted to start to play the guitar. I've tried to play on the guitar by trying to compress some chords. It was like that before 2012 when I was 11 years old. My grandfather used to love The Beatles throughout his life so much (I believe about "throughout his life"). He made me learn the song “Yesterday” on the piano. I don’t remember exactly how I came up to learn that song on guitar as well, but I have decided to do that on the guitar too. I've learned how to play that song on the guitar first then on the piano. That was my second song ever, which I’ve ever learned to play on the guitar. The first song was “Let It Be” (I’ve learned how to play “Let It Be” on piano later as well). Honestly, I don't remember which song I've learned first on the guitar, but these 2 songs were first for sure. After 2012, I've had several teachers up until 2018 (private, in schools), but most of the time I've learned to play the guitar myself. Also, The Beatles was my first Rock band, to which I’ve ever listen to. Exactly The Beatles has made me start to love Rock and listen to other Rock Bands, first Classical Rock, then Post-Grange like "Three Days Grace", "Sick Puppies", today I even listen to screamo, emo, hard-metal-deathcore bands, and many others. I've stopped to love Classical music and play the piano as much as I used to before (well, I had to finish my music school, that's why I still used to play classic music on the piano until 2016). My grandfather recently died on December 20th, 2018 (I couldn't attend his funeral face-to-face because I'm from Russia living in the United States and he's from Russia too, but he has lived most of his life in Kazakhstan). Sometimes nowadays I listen to The Beatles (especially to "Yesterday") in a big amount of nostalgia for 2012 when my grandfather had made me learn some of The Beatles' songs. Today the Rock (and heavier than Rock) music is my favorite genre. Today the guitar is my favorite instrument and I play on it even more often than the piano, even though as I've said before, the piano is my first musical instrument ever. I rarely play the piano and I've stopped playing classic music completely because I'm afraid of a very huge amount of nostalgia, even bigger than by The Beatles. Thank you so much for the great childhood, grandfather, I miss you so much. I hope that you're doing good wherever you are today 😖💔 (I'm sorry for my not very good English because my first language is Russian and I'm ethnic Russian)
