Wiring HID Headlights To A Motorcycle (both lights on, high & low beam)

- How to wire HID projectors to your motorcycle, using this method has both lights running on low beam and the high is activated on the handle bar switch. Works for CBR1000RR & CBR600RR plus many other bikes.

I sourced my HID kit from Ebay seller "Heavends"
Kit used was "2.5" Motorcycle Bi-Xenon HID Angel DEVIL Halo Eye Projector Len Lamp Ballast"
LED strip was from Ebay seller "my-elink"
"2x 48CM BRIGHT WHITE FLEXIBLE LED AUDI A8 STYLE CAR STRIP DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT" Can be cut to correct length.
F6 cable shielding can be purchased here:

yeah... this is wayyy above my comprehension level... I guess trial and error until my ordered ccfl lights work well on my bike.
does the angel eyes positive and go to the supply on the switch and the low beam to the on acc ??

where does the negative from the angel eyes go ?
Did your projectors have the cut off solenoid, or the wires that flip open the been cut off? In the projector?
I'm looking to convert mine, H7 to H4 when I do mine, but just seen there is wiring to open the lens on main, which kinda makes sense why the standard fitting is simple H1, so just wondering if there is a need to H4 the bike? Cheers (",)

So are the red demon eyes staying on the running light circut, then you toggle switch the white lights on and they overpower the red light? Then the high beam switch turn on the high beam? Im trying to work out a similar situation on my bike and I am confused. 😅

I have a question for you about these lights.
As they have no legal beam pattern in the UK how will this pass an MOT? i ordered some similar to this and they simply had a circular spotlight pattern and would fail an MOT instantly so i have to send them back, unless these specific ones have something built into them to cause a pattern? or im totally wrong and they wouldnt fail an MOT?

I have a gilera dna 180 which does the same thing. Low is one side high is the other side. I want to do the same as you
Low has both and high both but i was informed by a elecrician that it may burn out you stator because of the draw on power. I have H4 led dual low/high ready to go in.but dont want to create a electrical issue or stator damage. Can it still be done and how would you do it

So referring to the aftermarket switch. If it is switched to off and the bike is on and you turn the high beams on will they still run? Since you only interrupted the low beam wiring to my understanding? Great video btw!
+Victor Villarini hi Victor thanks for the kind words buddy. It was ages ago I did this and I'm not sure exactly what you mean.. the switch (if I remember correctly) turned the lights on, with the switch off just the devil eyes and halos are on. I think. I'm not 100% sure without rewatch it sorry
Lamb Chop Rides thank you for the response, what I mean is; say the oem high beam switch is on and you turn the bike on. Since you wired the aftermarket switch only in line with the low beam that means the high beams would come on right?

Hi iv followed pretty much exactly what you've done only iv wired direct from the headlight loom. On my CBR the left orginal light only has 2 wires (positive and negative I assume) and on the right 2 wires again not the 3 wires as in your description. So I'm wiring the low beams on the projectors to the positive on the original low beam but only my left light up or if I disconnect the left and connect the right first, then they both work. any ideas? I'm thinking wit only 1 positive feed to both projectors there may not be enough power going through the original power feed?

That seems like a major pain in the rear end O__O I would like to have dual lows and highs but wow what a job. I have thought about doing the demon eyes too but I am pretty sure they are illegal where I am from.
man i dont think its too hard actually. i think you just trace the wires from your toggle on your handle bars and find which colors they are then run either a positive or negative to your other light... lol im about to to do and i cant understand it yet either

That looks bloody smart mate. I was thinking about doing the same but I was wondering if there would be any issues with the alignment of the beams? Is there any way you can adjust them?
Thanks Woody, adjustment is as before on the screws as the projectors are mounted within the reflectors. Had a play with the alignment tonight and it works as before so shouldn't be any issues, I hope :)

Sorry Christian wouldn't want to risk it on someone else's bike, just try and familiar yourself with your bikes wiring diagram and use the diagram I provided in the link in the description and amend it for your bike. Good luck with it and let me know how you get on.

Hi, Great vids. Have you been pulled by the police yet for having red lights at the front. In UK it is illegal for any red light to be seen on the front of a vehicle and any white light on the rear (reverse light exception). I had seen a car the other day with red angel eyes. This had reminded me of a law that has been in force for many years. Thanks
he can turn the devil eye's off so can say there just for show & display use most people can't set them up like he has done that's why they get in trouble.

You have inspired me to do this conversion, wired your exactly the way I want mine! I ride a 2004 ZX10R so I will have to get my wiring diagram and order the kit. What wattage are your bulbs and are you happy with their brightness at night?

That's ok, my biggest concern is if I did this could the generator handle the extra wattage that the hid's would be useing or would I burn it out or melt some wireing, you do nice work also, very clean looking.
