Compared to the so called upper caste, lower castes are in ruins. Coming to Japan, Is there caste violence in Japan. They have done away with heirarchies. That's why I say use your pea sized brain. Caste in India is associated with religion mandated by texts. While Christianity and Muslims did not have any heirarchy from a religious point of view. Few points which have been generally observed, to answer Mr. Prakhar.
    1) Indians in general never lost the sense of their true history which though hazy but survived through centuries in form of folk flore, Poetries, Legends and stories passed in families from one generation to others.
    2) Besides this our ancestors left historical documentation from time to time. This is not only true with ancient history or mediaval history but also with contemporary history.
    3) So despite western indologists and Indian left wing historians intentional effort to distort, delete and misrepresent Indian history or sometimes even manufacture false history, few Indian historians were able to manage to do original research and present the truth or atleast in some case the different version.
So there were always some scholars who knew truth is something else.
4)After the social media arrival age of information started and the inquisitive minds who were not ideologues of ecosystem discovered the truth and started sharing it with people.
    5) Lastly, Invaders were different but if someone wants to get inspired from invaders and make them aa hero and want to follow them the their is bound to be reaction and history truth will play a factor.
Your good nature or heart won't change facts on ground.

One needs to understand that giving a platform to speak is what it’s all about. A spectrum of people don’t even want people like Abhijit ji etc to speak or deliver their views . At the end of the day it’s always a clash of narratives and when one side doesn’t even want the other narrative to be spoken in regards to all issues,we know it’s a broken one.Great podcast. For examples The definition of Consciousness and Reality(Brahman) is very distinctively defined and explained as we can clearly differentiate Mind, body and consciousness in Sanskirt but we fail to do it in English even if we used scientific evidences and arguments to define them.*

Indian never had caste system but varna vyavastha which is according to the occupation one is involved in. It was not rigid at all .. but possible for people to move from one varna to another according to their deeds and occupation. For example Vishvamitra was ksatriya but later was called as Brahmin because of knowledge he attained. Similarly Maharishi Valmiki belonged to low caste from today’s standard. There are many such examples.
I would recommend to read the book “Thavasmi” where each and every question about Bhagvaan Shri Ram ji is answered. There have been many distortions and misinformation, distortions about our granths.

Muxlims come and argue over religion they forget the fact that the religion hindus follow the sanatan dharma is so vast and diverse that you can't compare and argue over it if you is better or not. You don't have the vastness and historical legacy of thousands of years as the dharma has. We are talking about a 10,000 year(maybe older) continuing dharma which changed with time but still practiced somewhat the same. I have not found a single hindu who has knowledge about whole sanatan dharma and i don't blame them because it's humanly not possible to gather all that information and knowledge alone. Maybe there were or maybe there are some people out there who have all the knowledge they are not normal human beings they are wiseness is ahead of a common human being.
(I am an atheist but Sanatan dharma interest be due to it's mind-blowing history) i may not believe in religion but if anyone want to be religious they should adopt sanatan beliefs atleast it will keep you stable and wise human being. Majority Hindus today are corrupt in their mind and they don't know any sanatan values.

Another thing you asked about shudras being compared to feet, dont get why we think they are said to be low beings. As I said. Varna was work based. Shudras were basically labourers and workers.
Now labourers are the backbone of a society. Without labourers society will cease to function. If society is a building, labourers are the ground floor. They lay the foundation of the society. Without them, society will collapse and will not be able to stand/function. Similarly talking metaphorically, in our body without the feet we will fall down, won't be able to stand up, walk or run. See the correlation? Feet aren't bad actually they are the most imp if you want to stand, walk or run isn't it? So the comparisons to body parts was done to make us understand about Varnas roles in society. Also In our Culture we actually Touch someones feet for blessing. That shows how holy we consider feet as.Then how can we think of feet as dirty and low being. Don't get why we never talk about this perspective.
Similarly acc to Varna shudras are actually backbone of our society. But sadly this was misinterpreted, misused for malicious intents and thus we have this modern form of social hierarchy. The system wasn't wrong but the interpretation of this was wrong. I look at it this way.
And acc to me solution to caste system is removing that misinterpretation and telling the real meaning of varna and what it stands for. Or else the discrimination won't stop ever. Once ppl are told this they will start looking it a diff way.

That bhagvata thing is actually Purusa sukta from one of the later vedas. Bhagavata preaches the opposite. It clearly, without any ambiguity, defines the qualities of four varnas.
