It is because Alireza has higher rating than mvl, wich means he is gonna play on the first tables in olimpiads, facing the best players from other countries. For instance, in a match Norway vs France, Alireza would play against Magnus while MVL would face Tari or someone else

He is just become the World champion and they ask him about his rivalry with another player which is way younger than him. They should have focused on his own career and achievements.
