This is the best repair video I have seen on CZcams. I have a 2011 F250 and it has the same problem and mechanism. My door was permanently locked so I had to remove everything with the door locked closed. But it still held true and works for 2011 Ford F250 ‘s. Thanks for an excellent video.

You showed the easy part. The hard part is getting the door open to begin with!

Excellent!! However: how does one get the door open in the first place?

This is an excellent video. My 2011 F250 Supercab drivers side rear door wouldn/t open. I wish the video had also covered how to get it opened to make the repairs. I was finally able to get it open by painstakingly reattaching the cable to the bottom latch, and getting it to release, so the door could be opened. Also I bought the aluminum repair parts and had no trouble getting the fully round extended cab rear door repair parts to fit, without any modifications.

Excellent video. I used zip ties and I did not last.
The link does not take me to buy the parts. Is there a direct link to the parts?

2 additions to this. 1. No mention of how to initially open the door when its locked shut. Looked through half a dozen videos and they all start with the door open to work on. You have to remove the speaker to get your hand in there to pull downward on the cable that controls the upper latch.
    2. the machined cable end was extremely difficult to get into the opening. Machining should have been a bit smaller. Had to lube and really force it in..more wasted time and cursing involved. Also the slit for the cable is too narrow..pinched the cable preventing movement and kept the latch open..would now not lock..had to undo everything, take it off and widen the slit with a dremel disc. Finally got it to work. Forgot to mention the bolts that hold the upper latch were locktited (why?!) on my door and one did not move, stripped the bit and had to drill it out and the bolt actually broke off and broke off an extractor in the bolt trying to get it out. Finally said F it and just put the latch back with 2 bolts which seems to be OK. This was much more of a PITA than I thought.
