I stayed at the Strand once. Yes, very small hotel room. About the size of my bedroom at home. But, it served my purposes and it was fine. I would stay at the Strand again without hesitation.
Stayed at the Strand Palace in 2013 during one of their renovations, and it was perfectly fine. Great location, which is always a plus. We had an Executive King, so were spoilt for room, but YOLO, right? Spent a few weeks travelling around Britain, before returning to the SP, only to find The Carvery totally transformed! I believe that the latest reno has changed the old girl even more. Can't wait to come back...
The room is very small, like one on an old cruise ship, but it seems to serve you well. I've looked online at the hotel's site and the little map they have there really shows just how "in the centre of things" that hotel is. Their other rooms do look spacious and nice, and are not really out of line with other hotels. Of course "starting at" is a bit misleading, but it is what it is. Anyway, thanks for the peek into your little space. I do like that they give you perks with your room. Mustard in the salad dressing must give it a nice flavour. :)
I'm glad to see you back. I feel like it's been a while since I've seen a new video. You didn't disappoint! I love your little room, I would stay there. It's very modern. You got me at shower! I love a good shower especially in a hotel and I like the big bathtub. I like the perks also, your lunch looked good and the salad with the mustard in the dressing I would have thought would taste good on the sandwich. I anxiously await your next video.
Wow, this video gave me a flashback to a high school trip to London. Flew on TWA in a DC-10...that tells you how long ago it was. We stayed at the Strand Palace (I had forgotten that until I saw this video!) and I was in a small room like this with a tiny bathroom. We arrived at this hotel after what was my first transatlantic flight, and I had a weird bout of vertigo when I went into the cramped bathroom. It was like I could feel the bouncing sensation of being in turbulence on a plane...very odd...I guess brought on by the claustrophobic bathroom! Thanks for the video...brought back memories.
Happy travels Morgan! Enjoy the show :) you MUST (ard) check out Edinburgh (capital of Scotland) on your next visit to the Uk! I am originally from Aberdeen (Scotland, not Washington) but live in Edinburgh and it is a beautiful city.
Love this video! London is one of my favorite cities for some unexplainable reason. Last time we were there we stayed at the Tune Hotel near Lambeth station. It was equally small and extremely clean! Thanks for the review. P.s. Honey mustard is the only way to go!
I like it. It's got the same kind of tidy-but-enough appeal as the RCI Studio staterooms (from what I can tell from reviews/videos). If I was soloing it, I think it'd cut the mustard for a few days.
The Strand Palace has always been known for its smaller than usual rooms. The last tine I stayed there, bathrooms were shared amongst several rooms. What is now the bathroom in this room used to be part of the room - and it was a double room. How things change!!
Thanks for the tiny room view. I have not been to London in many years. I think it may be time to go back. But I don't think I have ever seen a room that small, even on a cruise ship! Of course the mustard you get there may be better. BTW how much and what size are the rooms for two? I travel with my Wife. I sometimes think I am her carry on. Hugs Morgan!!!
Was it Heinz "mustard"? Very popular in the U.K.!! And did the bathroom (loo?) have a real door?? How was the musical? I am assuming - fantastic! Interesting hotel - haven't Masse my way across the pond yet - but will keep The Strand in mind! Just stayed at the Wyndham Beacon Hill in Boston (close to my dr at Mass. General). Expensive room - and sliding door for the bathroom - boo!! And no perks at all!! But a bigger room (which was good because I was there for 5 days, and happened to be there during a snowstorm - from FL to snow - I stayed in the hotel room a lot)!! Once again, thanks for sharing! Always enjoy your videos (room service was a nice extra)!
Yes, there was a real door! But since I was staying there alone, I guess it didn't matter anyways! :-P The musical was a lot of fun. I forgot how many amazing songs Carole King wrote!
Hello from Canada. Great video as usual. I always learn a lot from you, so thank you. Do you think you'd ever consider making some videos about travelling solo? I'm sure a lot of folks would be interested.
Hello back to you! I have made a lot of videos while traveling solo, but do you mean like specifically about it somehow? What kind of things should I show or talk about?
My first time in London I also stayed in a single room which was slightly wider then yours. But I had a view of a one pump Shell gas station on some side street.
No. Come to think of it, I had a small room in Bern, Switzerland also. But in Basel they gave me a room with three beds so I guess that made up for it.....LOL
That's a nice & cozy room. I'm the complete opposite of you. Mustard is my only food cryptonite. I will eat/try any food. But just the smell alone (even worse if I taste it) makes me gag. I don't know why. Been that way since I was very young. Hope you're enjoying your stay.

My favorite hotel in London for business travel.
I like mustard on my hotdogs. That is a small room but I think that it is a great idea for those solo travellers that don't need or want much.
Come to NY Morgan and have a huge pretzel with mustard from a street vendor! That room was all you needed. Hope you enjoy your stay! Beth

awesome room for one.
It's like a dorm room! But I agree that if it were just me this is a fine amount of space .

I get that feeling now, too! Totally know what you mean.

Love mustard on my fries!! Room is tiny but well appointed. Reminds me of an RV. 😄
I'm eating a hotdog right now while watching and it has MUSTARD in it. great hotel room. kinda like staying in Japan, lol
upscale fish and chips lovely yum
Nice video and hotelroom! I can recommand also the CitizenM hotels! I think you would love them. Epic rooms :D

I love London, too! What kinds of things do you like to do when you're there? Shows? Shopping? Restaurants?
hey dude, you can stay at yha at Euston for 15pounds a night during the week,33 pounds at the weekends
Wow $200 a night for that tiny room! I would look at Tune! hotels in the future that you can get for around £50 a night! They are in the city centre.
It's like a cruise room but on land!
Haha, some of my cottages are this small. One of them has a mustard colored bathroom ceiling

Oh no, I would not be cool with shared bathrooms!
Interesting place. Not for the claustrophobic I'm thinking

Yeap! London isn't cheap! I know, i live here.
Mustard! That room is smaller than my husband's barracks 🤣
I believe it! And he is getting paid to sleep there!
The Pod hotels in NYC are much smaller! Not even close to smallest room in the world

Yes, that does sound kind of disappointing! Was it loud?
No. Come to think of it, I had a small room in Bern, Switzerland also. But in Basel they gave me a room with three beds so I guess that made up for it.....LOL
Looks like single cabin on NCL Epic cruise ship.
I like the size of the room. P.S. mustard
It was Colonel Mustard at the Strand Palace Hotel with the TV remote!
I knew it!
Thanks! lol
