Lawrie is going to be driving at the Apedale railway for their gala this weekend, 3rd and 4th of October. Come along, enjoy a fleet of narrow gauge locomotives in action and say hi!

I had a sneaking suspicion
I wish I could travel to the UK for this,shake you hand and talk trains. I love trains,I've always wanted to work for the railroad and still do. Hoping to start collecting model trains again and build a layout

Can't make this trip, but did make it to last week's Tinkers Park open day.
That was good fun, did you come say hi?
@@lmm , no you was busy working the first time and later you was talking to another pateron just as you was going back to work. Never been to tinkers park but will be going back again. Me and the girlfriend had a great time.
Wish I'd heard about this sooner but I've already made plans for the weekend as I'm a main driver at 2 miniature railways in Cheshire.
There will be other opportunities
In some future day, when the travel is possible, I would love to see you at one of these events.
I fell in love with railroads long ago due to living in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and having an office adjacent to Steamtown USA's excursion tracks. Though I'm less interested in the big diesels that came later getting to see those little ones would be fantastic.
I'm sure it'll happen at some point!

@@lmm no I ended up not saying hi in the end but I did enjoy the event as I always do at apedale so I decided this year to become a member.

I would love to see it but seeing as I’m on the west coast of the United States it is too short notice to get a plane ticket and I won’t be able to attend in person.

I did a driving experience up there a couple of years back, and intend to return as soon as the restrictions allow me to have another go... have you tried the Janus's at Scunthorpe? thats a bit of fun

That seems very interesting, but way too far for me. I like narrow gauge diesel and petrol locomotives, but as the owner of an O scale Joffre, I would be very interested if you can one time do a show on the Joffre of this railway.
I'd love to do it, and it was something that was being discussed, sadly Lockdown scuppered that. It's now out of ticket so have to wait for next time around.
I'd love to pop in but it's a little bit late for me to try and get a plane ticket ... and a passport.
