Honest video... thanks !
Shukriya bhai
Use waxpol rubbing polish... It also work same.
Solvol Autosol is the best for polishing engine casings. My 1940 engine looks like a mirror 👍
Hi! The Twin post you have made a good video, I have a suggestion I had the same problem so I also buffed my interceptor my self with the same technique and what I used extra was the white brick which is same as the green one.
It actually gives you the mirror like finish when you use it after the green one.
Try it you will love it.
Cheers
it's very upto Mark. My gt will waiting for your upcoming vlogs🙌✌️
Worth se jada hi h results. Video ki starting m casing problem jis tareeke se add ki.Now I am much more worry about that for me🤔
Well these tips I really work on।
The video is very informative. Thanks to you the first thing I will do after getting my interceptor is powder coat the engine casing Matt Black. Would that be a good idea ?
Hi Abhishek...if you can get the powder coat done from an expert that you're sure about the quality then it would be the best solution for this issue.
Since you're trying....
I use a powder that I get from my local mechanic. You just gotta wet it a lil and rub it all over with a cloth. Leave for a while and then use a clean cloth to wipe off. Since you have a buffing machine, that would give good results...
Cost of the chrome powder is around 10-30 bucks.... Try that!
The problem with this powder is that it gets into the tiny spaces around the bolts and then very difficult to remove
@@VivekSingh-hy1dk yeah that's a lil pain... Needs alot of patience.
Brother rub plaster of paris with the help of a cloth anti clock wise as some one have told me tooo but i havent tried it yet as my engine is still clean try on a small part frist ....
Hi Pradeep.... that's a really interesting idea and I haven't heard of this ever. Will try it out in future and will share how it does 🙌
@@TheTwinPost i can tell u how i now it but cant tell it on msg i have promissed some one about ti
Dominar or interceptor which is more friendly for couple riding like pillion comfort & the most important thing the heating issue from chrome part like engine or exhaust part heated so much & it can fries our legs n all...is it really?? Specially for these reason I'm confused between Dominar & interceptor.??? Actually I'm too much afraid about the burning or fries of our skin/legs from exhaust portion ..plz reply me??
Hi there... One thing I would like to say upfront is that not only for Interceptor but for any motorcycle - One should not ride with shorts on and without proper shoes.
With a proper trousers and shoes you eliminate the chances of accidently burning your legs either from touching the engine or the exhaust. Following is my take on your points :
Heat -
Dominar: Heats up in heavy traffic because it is a high compression engine...you will feel the heat in stand still traffic but not that much when you're on the move
Exhaust is nicely tucked away so no real issues there.
Interceptor: Heats up quite a bit (more than 2020-2021 Dominar)... Engine casing is quite wide so just do not ride with slippers on. (Anyways one shouldn't for any bike though)
Exhaust: Well these are chrome twin exhausts which do get really hot and it's better for your shoes if you keep them on the footpegs only.
Pillion Comfort:
In stock form Dominar is better in terms of pillion comfort.
For engine casing
Try applying Nimbu ( lemon ) on it and leave for 4 5 minutes
( Only after oxidation , not before )
Then clean with a microfibre cloth
I did it with my bullet for 8 years , yes the shine did go away but lemon slowed the process
I'm still doing it on my Continental GT 650
Lemon has citric acid , it will solve your problem
Hi there.... I have buffed the engine casings myself and I clean and polish it every weekend... I know it isn't a permanent solution so I'm planning to get casing covers in the future.
@@TheTwinPost oh nice!
Sorry about the nimbu idea
It only works when oxidation amount is minor
That's actually a genius idea... In the past I too have tried to get rid of the oxidation with vinegar and I just couldn't take the smell... and yes that too took away the shine.
@@TheTwinPost uh .
Yeah
Vinegar is anti chrome 😜
Actually my grandfather was a great mechanic and an automobile enthusiast (even owned some rare cars which were left behind when britishers left India )
So he gave me these ideas and sometimes they did work 🤣
Hello sir please suggest me ,mai interceptor pe ladakh gya tha uske bahd engine sound jada hogi pehle se ,kya aapki bike mai aisa hai ja nahi
Have your interceptor's speedometer/instrument cluster gets condensed/foggy while riding?
Hi Himanshu.... I would say it does get a little fogged up in the edges...but just a little
@@TheTwinPost Buddy, is it happening for you since the time you purchase the bike??
Actually I bought my bike in the month of August i.e during summer season... This has been happening during winters and monsoon
@@TheTwinPost alright..so as I understand this happens due to the atmospheric condition and engine heat coming up.. The rest is condensation science.. correct?😂
Help help please I have a ROYAL Enfield interceptor 2019 but while riding the engine stops while riding as anyone had this problem I love my endfeld but this is making me not trusting the bike
Paul from England 🇬🇧
Hi there Paul.... I've never encountered such a problem where the engine stopped like that while riding... There can be many reasons for that to happen spark plug failure or anything else.
Best to get it back to the service center and get it sorted.
@@TheTwinPost ok thank you for getting back to me
I liked your video 👍
Will keep watching
Cheers...🇬🇧
Instead of buffing it again and again, what if the casing can be sand blasted and then pained with high heat resistant paint? I own Int650, and same is the case with me, buffing is not the solution, it will last only few days and that too completely depends on the situation. I think Painting with heavy duty high heat heat resistant paint would be a very good long term solution
You're absolutely right...buffing is certainly not the solution for this problem. But the issue is finding someone who can get the casings painted the way you've mentioned it... becuase if the paint and the way of applying it isn't right - it would start peeling off and would look even worse.
@@TheTwinPost yes, that's a challenge which I am facing. I don't find any painter who can do the work so professionally. This is frustrating since this is the most premium product of Royal Enfield . They should have painted it from the factory itself, it would have looked much better, most importantly, it would have been far less maintenance
@@robinrao3758 i think eimor customs can do the job, but then again, not everyone lives in hyderabad or willing to travel there because of this lockdown.
Man even without lockdown it will be one hell of a long ride for getting the casings painted... Delhi - Hyderabad - Delhi 😅
It's a three step solution:
Rubbing - use 3m finesse it rubbing compound and rub off the oxidation. Wipe off with cloth.
Soap Wash - preferably something ph neutral. We want the oily residue from the rubbing compound to no longer exist.
Wax - caranuba wax forms a thin layer and adds shine to the surface. The thin wax layer would slow down future oxidation massively. If you manage to renew the wax every couple of weeks, you won't have to do shit.
Also, waxing hardly take 5 minutes. It is not as consuming task as buffing/rubbing.
I've been using Autosol Cream + Buffing cloth for almost a year now...gets the job done but needs to be done every week...got used to it now.
Buy wd-40 and apply a thin layer of it once you clean your bike and buff the engine. It should help your effort last longer. Be careful tho, wd-40 on break disk will render breaking pads useless which costs a lot.
Will definitely try that out.... And yes I did make a mistake of spraying a little wd-40 on to the front discs while trying to get rid of rust off the bolts..... The first 5 kms felt like I had no front brakes.
Nice video Twin Post. Wanted your advice on whether i should go for Interceptor 650 or Meteor 350 ? What do you think??
Hi Vineeth... I would say that if budget isn't a concern then you should definately go for the Interceptor because the performance that a twin cylinder 47ps engine provides cannot be matched by a 19ps single cylinder motor.
Better chassis which eventually means better handling.
All in all these two bikes cannot be compared with each other and there is a reason why the Interceptor costs 1 lakh+ more than a 350.
@@TheTwinPost I wanted to own an RE but i am confused which one would be value for money considering meteor seems like have more pros with tubeless tyres and alloy wheels and and better instrument console but Interceptor 650 oozes premium looks and power. What do you think . Do we have an option to convert Interceptor to alloy wheels and is it good for city riding considering it has heating issues
Alloys is something that would definitely be coming for Interceptor.... Just don't know when (I hope RE doesn't make us wait too much). Trust me I would get the Int just for it's engine and refinement.
Heating isn't that much of an issue honestly provided that you aren't wearing shorts and chappals while riding. you'll feel the heat only when you stop at a Singla during really hot summer days
Sorry one more question Should i wait for RE to release INT650 with Alloys or get the INT650 and change them to Alloys once RE release the alloy setup
you should powder coat it for once and all
Wish I could find someone who'd do that with the level of quality that would stay.
Is this the manufacturer fault ?
I won't say it's a fault....it's more of not providing a better chrome finish on the engine casings. If you see bikes like the Bonneville T-100 (I know it costs thrice) which also has chrome casings their finish is beyond amazing and is more effective against oxidation.
So basically it's just RE doing their job within a short budget....and cutting corners.
@@TheTwinPost ya it's totally understandable as it provides such an engine in this price range. Though it's a small issue but still needs to be rectified by the co.

Re needs extra care...due to inexpensive parts used!! I wonder how d owners justify RE all d time!!!! I believe they might not expect anything in return from the money dey invested!!
I have ridden all the RE bikes and I would have never entered that showroom...only after I test rode this bike (650) that I got interested in it... For the money it's an amazing product.
Yes they have cut corners on certain things...which we as an owner have to customize it make it better.
I would never spend 2+ lakhs on a bike like the 350 series....just not worth my money.... that's my personal opinion.
@@TheTwinPost almost everything same u get it from a 390cc/400cc engines I would not name the bikes!!! So y to go for RE thts wat I can't understand!! I luv twin engines and even I rode every RE nd disappointed (obviously not 650)!! But investing 3+ lacs won't make any sense and dis is exclusively my opinion!!
P.S. - sometimes I feel doin discussion abt RE from d owners is same like doing discussion with BHAI fans.. picture की script का तो पता नहीं पर भाईजान ने solid acting की है।❤️
😂🤣 I so relate to your words.. I've got so many comments in my videos by such 'fanboys' saying Interceptor me vo baat nahi jo Standard 350 me hai 😅 ...ab bhai aise comments ka kya hi reply karu me... I just let it go.
@@TheTwinPost hahahha a 150cc four stroke is FAR better than any RE 350!!! But seriously I can't accept a 650cc engine giving mileage of 18-21 in city ride!! Casings need to be polished (every week) regularly...else it start fading and oxidation marks start forming on it.
Contact Speed Monks in Gurgaon, they specialize in 2 wheelers so they might be able to help you out on this one. Getting it painted would be a long-term hassle free solution.
Its hassle free for sure but it create engine heat problem। Not a good option for this twin when it have already to much heat🤪✌️। Thinks to share ✌️
Royal Enfields need polish every weekend ...I owned one for 10 yrs and polished it every Sunday...it used to gleam like silver ....
Hi Vaibhav... that's absolutely right and it's something I've realised as an owner of an RE. This is my first ever RE.... I'm still learning...
Autosol (requires more labour but results are good too)
Sonax (requires less effort but results aren't that impressive).

Black karwalo engine
Engine ko black powder coat karvana is the best option...but kaha se karvana is the tricky part. Sasta kaam would eventually lead to the paint peeling off in few months.

Bade bhai.... Buffing ki CZcams par bohot achhi videos hain experts ki jo buffing bohot achhi karte hain. Mujhe sirf buffing nahi dikhani thi... Mujhe dikhana tha ki issue pehle bhi hua tha or tab bahar se karvai thi or ab kyu bahar se nahi karvai or khudse karne se kitna result aega. Mujhe apna experience batana tha as an amateur person who had no idea about buffing.
Buffing ki video dekhni ho to YT par hain jo chaandi sa chamka dete hain engine casing ko....or kehte hain ye aramse hojata hai...par sachhai ye hai ki mere-aapke jaisa banda vaisi buffing nahi kar paega.
U r right..Iam facing same problem..
