    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost Před 3 lety

      Hi there... One thing I would like to say upfront is that not only for Interceptor but for any motorcycle - One should not ride with shorts on and without proper shoes.
      With a proper trousers and shoes you eliminate the chances of accidently burning your legs either from touching the engine or the exhaust. Following is my take on your points :
      Heat -
      Dominar: Heats up in heavy traffic because it is a high compression engine...you will feel the heat in stand still traffic but not that much when you're on the move
      Exhaust is nicely tucked away so no real issues there.
      Interceptor: Heats up quite a bit (more than 2020-2021 Dominar)... Engine casing is quite wide so just do not ride with slippers on. (Anyways one shouldn't for any bike though)
      Exhaust: Well these are chrome twin exhausts which do get really hot and it's better for your shoes if you keep them on the footpegs only.
      Pillion Comfort:
      In stock form Dominar is better in terms of pillion comfort.

    For engine casing
    Try applying Nimbu ( lemon ) on it and leave for 4 5 minutes
    ( Only after oxidation , not before )
    Then clean with a microfibre cloth
    I did it with my bullet for 8 years , yes the shine did go away but lemon slowed the process

    Instead of buffing it again and again, what if the casing can be sand blasted and then pained with high heat resistant paint? I own Int650, and same is the case with me, buffing is not the solution, it will last only few days and that too completely depends on the situation. • @nycscribe538

    It's a three step solution:
    Rubbing - use 3m finesse it rubbing compound and rub off the oxidation. Wipe off with cloth.
    Soap Wash - preferably something ph neutral. We want the oily residue from the rubbing compound to no longer exist.
    Wax - caranuba wax forms a thin layer and adds shine to the surface. The thin wax layer would slow down future oxidation massively. If you manage to renew the wax every couple of weeks, you won't have to do shit.

    • @nycscribe538

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost Před 3 lety

      Hi Vineeth... I would say that if budget isn't a concern then you should definately go for the Interceptor because the performance that a twin cylinder 47ps engine provides cannot be matched by a 19ps single cylinder motor.
      Better chassis which eventually means better handling.
      All in all these two bikes cannot be compared with each other and there is a reason why the Interceptor costs 1 lakh+ more than a 350.

      I won't say it's a fault....it's more of not providing a better chrome finish on the engine casings. If you see bikes like the Bonneville T-100 (I know it costs thrice) which also has chrome casings their finish is beyond amazing and is more effective against oxidation.
