Pentatonix Wizard of Ahhhs with Todrick Hall. I think the whole family would enjoy it. It’s a short take on the Wizard of Oz movie but using a lot of modern songs in place of some of the originals but they tie in beautifully with the theme. Enjoying your reactions a lot❣️
The part of Kevin's brain that coordinates multitasking must be madly overdeveloped. Like the others when they are performing live, he's not only thinking about & performing his own parts. They all must listen to each other to help stay on beat & key. That means just doing one instrument or vocal part in a group is already multitasking 2 things. But in songs like this he is essentially doing 2 instruments at once (his voice for beatboxing or singing plus playing the cello) while also constantly staying in sync with the others. I really don't understand how his brain can be processing input & output for all 3 things at one time with no mixups. Even with multiple practice sessions it seems like it would be an impossible task for most people. Then you watch his cover of Down & 😮. Watching him do his arrangement like that in one take is just amazing. He could just record himself doing the different parts & then layer them together in the studio, but no he does his recording all at once just like it's a live show & makes it look easy. 🤯😍

There's no shame in admitting you like a cover better than the original. Almost nobody remembers that "I Will Always Love You" was covered by Whitney Houston. The original was created and performed by Dolly Parton.

I first noticed Kirstin going into her lower range on the song "Rather Be". Ever since, it seems that she is working lower and lower into that rich and warm lower register. Just my opinion. I like every part of her vocal range. It seems that often she is singing a lower part than Mitch.

Cello and saxophone (he played at Carnegie Hall while still in high school.) perfect pitch, multiple languages, and he was in medical school when he decided he could put that on hold for a semester for a stab at being part of some little insignificant acapella singing group.
Kirstin fits her style to the song. I think with 5 members no one shows all they have all the time. Kevin has played the Cello on at least 3 performances (and he plays it solo often to give the others time for their voices to recover in live performances.).
Kevin's cello is significant because that's how Scott found Kevin on CZcams, where he was doing "cello boxing". Whenever PTX has Kevin playing cello in a song, the cello (named Beyoncé) effectively acts like a sixth voice. Cello accompanying Shallow: Note that the movie soundtrack includes a cello for Shallow - even though they have a country band and no cello in sight! This suggests that the cello part itself is integral to performing the song. PTX paid homage to the original song instead of reworking it into something totally new.

Home Free did it twice: once with Charlie Daniels on “Devil Went Down To Georgia’ where he played his fiddle, and the second time was a young woman (I forgot her name) where she played the violin on the version of “Silent Night”. Kevin is a beast on the cello, and with his beatboxing. I think I saw a video of him prior to their Sing Off gig. Anyway, I enjoyed it! Be safe!

Other than Bohemian Rhapsody (where I think they showed a lot of respect to Freddie Mercury and Queen) I personally think that pretty much all of their covers are better than the originals. From what I've heard, even Leonard Cohen said he thought their version of Hallelujah was the best.
