    Hey there I am Sarah (aka Ted). On this channel, I discuss topics for online entrepreneurs building businesses. And here is the truth when it comes to building a business: it isn't a way to get rich fast. Nope. A business is simply when you learn to do these 3 things really well:
    1) Creating or finding great products/services to sell.
    2) Putting those products in front of the right customers.
    3) Giving those customers a great reason to buy.
    And each person will have their own journey to get there with a LOT of hard work & sacrifices along the way 💪👊 here on this channel, I make videos to help entrepreneurs along this journey. Some of the topics I discuss are:
    * Case studies of successful online businesses.
    * Tips, tricks & strategies on choosing the right online business for you.
    * How to make & sell products with ecommerce using beginner-friendly product sourcing methods (such as Print On Demand).
    * Tips & strategies to scale to more advanced product sourcing strategies (like wholesale fulfillment centers).
    * Help with some of the "legal stuff" (like trademarks & copyrights when doing business online).
    * And a sprinkle of entrepreneurial motivation thrown in too!
    I hope my actionable content can help you: whether you're running your own online business/online store, or are in the process of building one, and want some tactical advice to help you along the way. If that is you, subscribe today! 🔥

      While it’s a pretty design, why the word “Mimi”? I don’t get it. Also, how can people take a Pokémon or Disney character and make/sell products of their own using the copyright art? Isn’t that illegal? I know a great artist, she just needs to be discovered. Selling on Redbubble is a joke, the artist gets very little. The T-shirt in this video that u keep showing would b a lot prettier without the word covering the flower 👍🏻

    A design tip from an artist: If you are going to design something to print on black tshirts, and your design has a lot of black in it. Mask out the black in your design so that you can use the T-SHIRT to fill in that void. Otherwise you're just wasting black ink on black fabric. It's generally recommended to have several versions of your design that are made for specific colour.

    • @twotwinningcavs
      @twotwinningcavs Před 2 lety +10

      Great tip!! I also like buying items that do this because it gives it an even know professional and expensive look

    • @j3ffn4v4rr0
      @j3ffn4v4rr0 Před 2 lety +15

      That's true...and also because, on a black t-shirt, printed black is not truly dark, for the reason that a white undercoat is printed underneath the entire design so that the colors will show. Any black ink printed as part of your design will also be printed on top of the white, which tones it down. So, if you knock out all the black so that the black fabric shows through instead of being printed, the black areas of your design will be maximum darkness.

    I've used both over the years and just REALLY wish that Printify would add something into their website that allowed the multiple image files to choose from as well the MOST CONVENIENT thing on Printful which is the immediate ability to add your design to multiple products and be done! If you have multiple designs/ products you're going to be setting up that Printify store FOREVER! Printful also offers custom packing slips with your logo, your logo on the box or package as well as custom tracking pages with your logo. They can also store your branded packaging and inserts. Printify is lacking MAJORLY in this area!!! I wish these topics would've been covered as well.

    For those who still considering to use Printful or Printify, here is some personal experience for your consideration: I started my store linked with Printify few months ago, everything was fine only until recently approaching holiday high season, their printer made a mistake and they wouldn't refund unless client provide picture proof (understandable but your customers may not be happy with that request); secondly, their print providers tend to create shipping label before the production is done (sometimes they need 2 to 4 business days more to finish productions); also, once you created items in your Printify store and published, they automatically published and active the listing before you can make some final touch to it; so in my opinion, the only pro using Printify is only better pricing.
    Recently exploring Printful platform and planning to switch to them for futures orders, they have much more mature developed platform in terms of linking your listing to your store, they will only send to store as draft so that you can edit in your store before active the listing, you can add tags, section in their platform which you can't on Printify. Even if you updated your listing in your store, the changes will sync with Printful. So the only con of Printful is more expensive pricing, other than that, everything is better than Printify. And you deal with Printful only, unlike Printify, if you have problems with your orders, you will have to deal with their customer support first then they will first trying to throw out all the standard time frame, terms and conditions first before they will really reach out the printer to solve your problems maybe in 1 to 2 days later.

    So everyone knows: Both of these companies require you to effectively hand over your rights to your designs to them forever when you join. Anything you upload to them, they can keep forever and use for themselves. The policies are a little different between the two (Printful's is worse) but both result in their permanent retention of your work.

    I use Printify for my store. I guess it really depends on the design. I ordered the same design on Monster Digital & SwiftPOD to do a side by side comparison. I found that the SwiftPOD was closer to the colors on my actual file. Colors were overall more vibrant with SwiftPOD even though they were both printed on the Bell Canvas 3001. There were also details that did not make it on the print for Monster Digital but it was visible with SwiftPOD. My suggestion is to order the same design from both providers and do a side by side if possible.

    What about shipping prices?
    Printify: if one order contains multiple items from various print providers, I pay full shipping cost for each item which I cannot change to the customer = expensive!
    Printful: since all items from an order come from the same place, I enjoy reduced shipping prices.

    I had a Printful store too, my biggest problem was their placement of my designs on the t-shirts, there are templates available, I used them, also provided mockups, I would complain, they would agree and re-print, they kept blaming the human element. I blame it on poor employee training, I've run a DTP machine, it's not that difficult, but never could get get simple placement correct and the prints do fade after washing, so I closed the store and now do everything at home myself using heat transfers.

    I think the Printful process is genius. Best qualiy of any print on demand service I have gotten samples from (as far as colors and feel), but I have still struggled with their quality control in regard to placement. Half of the few samples I have ordered have been crooked and way off center. Super scary when I think about going live with a site and dealing with returns and complaints. I WANT to DESPERATELY, but this excperience has left me feeling relunctant. It has been their greatest hurdle according to many other users as well. I hope it gets resolved. Again, great print work in general, just placement issues

    • @WholesaleTed
      @WholesaleTed  Před 2 lety +18

      Hi Dustin, I absolutely understand your experience, but the truth is when it comes to manufacturing, there will always be mistakes. And so that is why product samples are problematic. Because if you get an unlucky batch, it can easily distort your view of the manufacturing company/process. That is why when it comes to manufacturers I recommend that rather than rely on product samples, people instead look to see if the manufacturers are doing significant volume for any merchants and to see what experience those merchants have had and to read reviews. I can tell you that through my many thousands of orders with Printful that I have had very few returns for misprints/incorrectly made products, and of that tiny number, Printful have always sent them a perfect product back to make up for it. Product samples are not very important: what is more important is how companies can produce at scale.
      Something else that I've also found is that if you order actual samples, they are cheaper and they seem to have higher fault rates, my guess is they skip some of the quality control process which is how they can make them so much cheaper. I would only ever recommend purchasing the full priced products as a true sample 🙏

    At the end I wanted to cancel the order and get the money back ( I made a order by myself to try out all the functions and how the process is going ) , but I coudln't cause my account wasn't topped . At the end 10 Dollar were just missing , even nothing was produced yet. I still ask myself where this money went.
    Also whats weird about it , that I paid 27,26€ at Paypal and it also say so at the E-Mail I received of Etsy : 17,11€ for Product, 5,80€ for Shipment 4,35 € Taxes but my store says the customer only paid 25.44€ so I ask myself where did the 1,82€ went ? Thank you again for another killer/gracious video…and with that..I have a question that I’m sure many people have: If I am offering a shirt with 6 color options, Im making (on placeit) 6 mockups and then a video and it’s VERY time consuming. AND if it’s a design for both men and women, I make another listing and another six. So my questions are 1. Am I wasting my time? 2. Should I only show one mockup still and one mock up video and then just have the other color options listen as they navigate? Or am I offering too many choices? 4. Should I be doing male/female separate listings especially since I’m trying to work up to 100 at least (I’m on at ten or so now). Thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU ! - Gabe in south Florida

    Sarah. New to POD. I'm concerned about selling shirts that do not hold up after multi wash cycles. 1) does monster digital with with Bella Canvas 3001 hold up after multiple wash cycles? 2) same question for Printful. 3) Have you tested which combination of print company and shirt survives multiple washes to avoid returns and keep customer returning for more?
    Thank you.

    The main reason I use printify is simply because Printful takes forever to load the product page, like 8 MINUTES! And it's not my computer. So I went with printify and after my own product review (I ordered a shirt with the same print like you did) and printify was far superior across the board.

    Thanks for this. Great video Sarah! What about optimising shipping costs for customers in different countries? One thing I’ve noticed with printify is because you’re choosing a particular printer in particular country then if people from a different country order from it they’re going to face high shipping costs. With Printify, can people order from one listing but get a local shipping cost based on fact that Printify has a local printer in a lot of countries?

    • @panthera_designs

    Hi 👋 so I just saw a couple of videos saying that Printful has hidden costs that the actual winning amount is much more less than they calculated. And on top you have to pay transaction fees at Etsy or other markets. Some people even lost money by selling their products via printful. You have a video for that topic or did you experience it yourself, too ? Best regards.

    It seems to me that Printify has a definite disadvantage when it comes to worldwide shipping.
    Shipping costs and times will be significantly higher if the customer orders to a country that is different from where your one and only production partner for that product is. My store has buyers from around the globe and Printful generally chooses to print from a facility that is close to the buyer. With Printify, that doesn't seem to be feasable.
    Does anyone with Printify experience have feedback about this? Is it possible to set up multiple production partners around the globe who will automatically be chosen based on the location of the buyer?

    • @angelicahalvarsson
      @angelicahalvarsson Před 2 lety +9

      I really wish Printify would automatically reroute orders to a country closer to where the customer is based. I just checked with them and sadly they don't do that. There's a workaround explained on their website but then you have to manually choose the print partner each time a customer places an order. Printful is quite expensive compared to Printify but shipping worldwide is expensive and not feasible with Printify so it's really hard to choose

    I'm new to this and have a question about choosing the printing manufacturer on Printify. If you can only choose one, e.g. the US company suggested, what happens to non-US customers' orders e.g. in the UK? Do they have to wait weeks for items to be shipped from the US or is there an option to automatically switch to a different manufacturer in the UK who will produce the items and ship them to the UK customer? If not, Printful seems the obvious option for worldwide customers. Have I missed something obvious?

    Hi amazing video, I’m starting up POD in Australia and I’m really interested in using Printful. However what confuses me is location of products and delivery times. Do sellers using POD focus on their own country only, which limits which shirts/mugs you can use? Or do you start with a global search of t-shirt providers and you are actually selling and creating a global store? I can’t seem to find any tutorials covering this. Thanks 😊

    Hi Sarah, thank you for the wonderful and great informative videos and advice. Hence, a (BIG LIKE) are the images that you use set to colour mode RGB or CYMK when you add to the design process and also how does the finished product compare in colour with that of your screen/monitor, the reason I ask is all my screens are colour corrected. Also, do people comment that the product is a different colour shade seeing most people probably do not have colour-corrected screens as in going to any retail store that sells TV etc they are all different in colour contrast and brightness? Thank you once again.

    Stellar information and presentation as always. I have had decent sales on RB. But I added TeeSpring for their all over print (AOP) offerings. Now that I see they aren't the ONLY AOP provider, I am looking to jump ship to one of these two. (I didn't realize they did zero marketing. That explains zero sales in over a year.) I was unable to find any AOP material in a search on your channel. Are AOP items not part of your own offerings? If they are, can you please do a video comparing those items at Printify & Printful (at least t-shirts)? AOP sample print quality at Teespring was okay. But the collar of said AOP garments there are loose/low, like scoop neck. They look sloppy. (Okay if you are going for the gym chic or Jennifer Beales' Flashdance look...) Keep up the great content!
