    People can say whatever they want about Roth, but I'm envious... and not just because he had the life he had in the 80s, but also because he seems like the happiest person on earth. No matter what interview you're listening to, everything about DLR screams. "I'm gonna wring every last drop out of life". It seems he's just happy to exist... and that's rare.

    If you really listen to Dave, he is extremely intelligent. Listen to how he expresses himself...it is always very real & detailed, "There's some dirt under the fingernails..." He is always 2-3 ideas ahead in the conversation, but he is not bitter, he is fun. Many very intelligent people are frustrated because few can keep up with their ideas, Dave remains enthusiastic. High creativity personality, that without an outlet, appear "looney" yet these are the people we pay money to see and hear. Ironic? Go back to the early interviews w/Dave and you will hear the same intelligence, the ability to adapt to anyone, and lead the way fearlessly. Very unique person, not without the defects of character that comes with the territory. There is a some brilliant psychology presented here! The bed analogy is incredible to describe why the band fell apart! You will not here an "academic" communicate concepts better than this!

      Dave has an incredibly high, attention span wit, + can relate to a topic in multi, improvised versions, that drives Eddie, + Alex nuts.

      he reads a lot and i heard him in an interview where he said his favorite place, thing to do is be on an airplane cuz you are forced to shut phones off, he also said he rarely uses cell phone or will being with him, but he loves being on a plane and will always bring several paperbooks to read on a plane, he is a voracious reader and he doesnt read crap.

    DLR always makes for a fun interview. Thought Dave woulda picked 1984 for the album though. It's the most complete and varied album of the Roth era and shows what VH can do as a band best.

    "It's better with an audience but I don't really need one?" What's DLR talking about? HE is the best story teller EVER and HE is the only audience he needs to do it. DLR simply cracks DLR up about every 5 seconds. What a BEAUTY...

    This is the greatest interview of Dave I have ever heard and I have heard all of the late seventies and eighties Rockline interviews as well as many local rock station interviews where the interviewees just want the band and Dave to take over the interview. Jay has a type of intellectuality and pushes Roth for deeper answers. He seems to be on the same footing as DAVE, and this makes it electric.
    Jay has the scoop (or moxy) on the intellect of someone like Roth and is able to communicate. Don't get me wrong, it is eccentric and it runs wild, but like Jay praises Dave on the fact that his speeches come full-circle and everything is tied together in a powerful way, Jay's interview of Dave it brings out the best, the most spontaneous and the most creative of answers from one of the most creative and spontaneous of vocalists ... David Lee Roth.
    Great job, Jay. I am now a fan of Mohr stories. Have always been a fan of David Lee Roth. He appreciates music and the life of someone who has music running through their veins.
    Jay, this interview is your Van Halen 1 !!
    Thanks.

    Roth is extravagant.. a Very colourful interesting person.. He can make anything look good from the way he talks. that’s what he does. Very Animated.. He also studied the greats from the past and used it in his work, from the lyrics to the videos.. he is a very observant Person.. but in this Funny VH world? it seems to be divided into Van Hagar and Van Halen with Roth.. 2 very Different Bands.. You Like Journey? cool, you can have 5150.. some of Us Like Roth.. and. that’s all.. nobody is better etc.. just personal tastes.. so relax and enjoy whatever it is you enjoy and find things you enjoy in life..

    The biggest mistake Dave made was leaving Van Halen. He thought he was the star in Van Halen and he could make it on his own. He under estimated the chemistry he and Edward had and Eddie's ability to wrtite cool and unique songs/riffs. He will never admit it but he regrets leaving. Listen to some of the Roth Show episodes, he brings up his days in VH a lot.

    • @DJ_MOJO73
      @DJ_MOJO73 Před 4 lety

      Steve Holstein but Roth left in Good time because otherwise Bands become a Parody.. Roth went and did his own thing.. Yes Roth Knew the importance of having a Wizard Guitar player ‘which’ at the time was necessary, but times change.. Things happen for a Reason.. and if you miss VH? a Different kind of Truth is exactly that, a parody of the VH sound..

    • @DJ_MOJO73
      @DJ_MOJO73 Před 4 lety

      Plus Eddie always wrote similar tunes.. Later on Roth did some cool covers to reach a wider audience.. and if you listen to A Little Ain’t enough and Eat’em albums, the song writing is great.. great structure and just great musicians. those 2 albums in particular..

    All right, so David Lee Roth and Jay Mohr are complete morons. Obviously Batman totally destroys Spider-man in a bar room brawl (or anything from a one on one fight to a competition of the mind). No one, absolutely NO ONE, not even the Demi-god Superman can beat Batman in a fight. AND let's face it - Spider-Man is a complete wuss anyway. Wolverine was always my favorite comic character but even though Logan is decidedly more lethal than Bruce I've got to give the fight to the Batman after a LONG grueling and terribly close combat. I've always felt DC Characters specifically, but even generally anyone wearing a cape, are just ridiculous. EXCEPT The Dark Knight Detective (Or perhaps Magneto - it just befits his status as the absolute monarch of mutant-kind). His cape actually makes sense as it serves multiple purposes instead of just being a silly decoration and hindrance in a fight.
    (obviously I'm just joking when I call them morons - they just don't know anything about Batman or Spider-Man. Leave the hate speeches at home, please)

      I don't honestly care what these two guys think about the subject as they are experts in other fields of entertainment (Comedy and fronting a musical band). I was just playing around. So don't worry :)
