Our journey takes us to the Armonique Regional Natural Park which stretches for 125,000 square hectares, we follow the GR 34 path up to Cap de la Chèvre, a vast and spectacular natural landscape with heaths covered with heather and brooms and maritime pines with lonely beaches and landscapes that are lost on the sea horizon.
We reach the small town of Portsall located in the north-western Finistère on the shores of the Iroise Sea. It is a small port that derives its fame from the sinking of the Amoco Cadiz in 1978. This gigantic super tanker that ran aground on a stormy day caused the the pollution of the coast for over 150 km, in the small port to bear witness to what happened was the anchor of the oil tanker.
In Guissény we find one of the rare tidal mills, the Mulino du Couffon now a beautiful B&B, offering a spectacular view of the Quillimadec river, where the rhythm of the tides continuously transforms the coastal landscape.
The village of Meneham in Kerlouan is a picturesque fishing village with thatched roofs enclosed by huge blocks of stone and surrounded by grassy dunes and a coast with wonderful beaches.
The town of Saint-Pol-de-Léon is located on the northern coast of Finistère the city has preserved a unique architecture such as a cathedral of the thirteenth century and a bell tower that with its 80 meters high is the highest in Brittany.
The port city of Roscoff is one of the most beautiful ports in northern France, where you can still breathe the maritime tradition of fishing, ferries leave from the port for Ireland and the United Kingdom. A few miles off the Batz island which enjoys a particular microclimate.
Il nostro viaggio ci porta nel Parco Naturale Regionale d’Armonique che si estende per 125 000 ettari quadrati, percorriamo il sentiero GR 34 fino a Cap de la Chèvre, un paesaggio naturale vasto e spettacolare con lande ricoperte di Erica e Ginestre e pini marittimi con spiagge solitarie e panorami che si perdono sull’orizzonte marino.
Raggiungiamo la cittadina di Portsall situata nel Finistère nord-occidentale sulle rive del mare d'Iroise è un piccolo porto che trae la sua fama dall'affondamento dell'Amoco Cadice nel 1978. Questa gigantesca super petroliera che si incagliò in una giornata tempestosa causò l'inquinamento della costa per oltre 150 km, nel piccolo porto a testimoniare l’accaduto è stata posta l’ancora della petroliera.
A Guissény troviamo uno dei rari mulini di marea, il Mulino du Couffon ora diventato un bellissimo B&B, offre una vista spettacolare sul fiume Quillimadec, dove il ritmo delle maree trasforma di continuo il paesaggio costiero.
Il villaggio di Meneham a Kerlouan è un pittoresco villaggio turistico di pescatori con tetti in paglia racchiuso fra enormi blocchi di pietra e circondato da dune erbose e una costa con meravigliose spiaggie.
La cittadina di Saint-Pol-de-Léon è situata sul litorale Nord del Finistère la città ha conservato un'architettura unica come la una cattedrale del duecento ed un campanile che con i suoi 80 metri d'altezza è il più alto della Bretagna.
La citta portuale di Roscoff è uno dei porti più belli della Francia del nord, qui si respira ancora la tradizione marinara della pesca, dal porto partono i traghetti per l’Irlanda ed il Regno Unito. Qualche miglio a largo l’isola Batz che gode di un microclima particolare.
