I usually separate the first two games from the third one. But anyway... another great video from Badger Goodger and his cool voice!
I'm gonna be honest Regardless of how you feel about Max Payne 3's story, I think the move out of NYC was a good idea because of how much of a interesting location Brazil is. The locations of Max Payne 3 are all very varied and colourful, which I like. If Max Payne 3 and 4 were to be in NYC again (In this alternative timeline) Remedy/Rockstar would have had to work VERY hard to lean into seasons. I think the idea of Max not wearing his leather jacket during the summer is a good idea, as well as it being set during a VERY intense heatwave. They might have also explored a bit into the State of New York, not just New York City, so they might have had Max in the Adirondacks and Catskills for some parts (for variation, would have also worked well for a game set in Spring to show the plants growing over the course of the game).
I actually like the idea of Rockstar originally wanting to set Max Payne 3 in Russia. If there's ever a Max Payne 4 I'd love to see them take the action to Russia. I kinda wanna see them go to London too. It'd be slightly unrealistic as the UK doesn't have many guns as Brazil or Russia, but it'd be interesting nonetheless.

What I would like to see are events before Max Payne 1...that summer would be fine to it, like those were sunny, better days at NYPD. Yes, Max Payne as an actual policeman, good old times. Not the depressing original we all know and love, but an innovation and original thing that does not go too far from that universe and story.
I loved the way Max Payne 3 played and I hope Remedy uses the same gameplay mechanics for the remakes, but the story and writing were just way too different from the other two games. With 3, it felt like Rockstar jumped so far forward in time that any references to the last two games felt more like afterthoughts. I really would have liked to see what Remedy had in store for the series. I always thought their writing was far more interesting with the weird conspiracies they tied into the story. The way Remedy wrote Max Payne as a character was also a lot cooler than how Rockstar did it in my opinion. In the first two games, he was a cynical film noir-style detective with an intellectual side, whereas in the third game he's more like a bitter, washed-up action hero.
If you play Alan Wake and Control carefully you will notice that Max Payne is there under new name (probably changed name after events of 1st 2 games and obviously because of copy rights) and he is FBI agent now and he is character of Alan Wake books who can to existence in reality due of Alan Wakes reality shaping abilities, and according to control he is investigating disappearance of Alan Wake and connection of his life to Alans Wake books. Most likely after release of remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 and Alan Wake 2 we will find more connection and probably may see Max Payne 3 or 4 under new name that he has now in Alan Wake books and and in Control. But basically Max Payne post part 2 is character if Alan Wake books who came to exist in reality and self aware of being a character of fiction.
I really like what R* did with Max Payne 3 the storyline gameplay was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 it was good they took it from Remedy. R* gave Max a purpose and soul like Corey Barlog did with Kratos in GOW PS4

As much as I enjoyed Max Payne 3, it honestly served like a "stand-alone" title as not much references or connections are made with the first and second game.
Max Payne 3 was great. I still play it 11 years later so I don't know why do many people consider it to be a failure. It might not have met expectations in terms of sales, but still sold millions . Even as much as I hate watching cutscenes in video games there are several in MP3 that I still watch to this day. It probably has to do with it primarily being a single player game at the time of its release when everyone else was playing multi player games. I know MP3 has online play too, and I heard it was actually pretty good but out of the hundreds of hours I've played the game I never even attempted to play online. Single player mode is all I need
That would be cool to see Max Payne 3 from Remedy, but Rockstar pleasantly surprised and gave Max something cute & unexpected: a vacation. That man went through a lot, let him rest.
As you said it's been a year since the announcement of MP1+2 Remake by Remedy, made me realize that I haven't played the first game. It's been on my list for so long lol. Maybe now it's time to play that game for real.
To be fair, unless Remedy has some really amazing writing with some twist in gameplay, I can't see how they could extend what they ended with Max Payne 2. Not saying they aren't competent, but you got to know where your franchise will start to drag on.
Considering no Remedy game has been all that great since Max Payne 2, I can't honestly say it would've been better than what Rockstar did with Max Payne 3
I do really hope that Remedy takes their time to make the Max Payne remakes, because with the Dead Space and RE4 remakes, hell even Metroid Prime and that is just a remaster, but those works are not only that good to be as great as the originals but to elevate them and for some cases, bring new life to their franchises, so hopefully Remedy will do well
I howled when I hear the title "Max springs fordward" I dunno why it made me laugh that hard. LOL IMHO, that the potential for a sequel to 3 depends on how well the Remakes sell. I definetely want it. Also, as much as it hurts that T2 has the IP right, I think 3 was awesome in its own right.
Maan it's been a long time since I heard from the Max Payne series. I used to spend countless hours in the Multiplayer mode of Max Payne 3 back in 2013 all the way up until 2018 when the game slowly started to die out. I'd love to see a sequel or a prequel of Max Payne in the 4th installment as long as they make one.
Remedy's Max Payne 3 would have Max be starting to get in FBI as Alex Casey and would start to connect to paranormal stuff, Remedy's Max Payne 4 on the other hand would make or start to connect to Alan Wake as Remedy is starting a connected universe.
My friend and I have always wanted another Max Payne installment. Now is a great time! With John Wick, Nobody and the upcoming Sisu, he would do great! I'd really love another MP rather than GTA 6 or RDR3. R* said a few years ago that they would release another title before GTA 6. I was hoping it would be either MP4 or a true sequel to Manhunt(which is an unsung excellent title!). Love watching anything MP related....thanks for a great take on it!😊
I'm happy with 3 bit I think one of the issues with 3 flopping kinda had to do with max payne hiatus from the gameing world 2 and 3 have a huge development gap.
we could still get a Max Payne reboot game (or games) that tell the story of 9 years gap between 2003 (MP2) and 2012 (MP3) but Rockstar just dont care, they are too busy making content for GTA online kids
I always thought what if mona and max had an child together at the end of the max Payne 2 like maybe raise his child alone and let nothing happen to him like what happened to his daughter Rose maybe we could have had another videogame related to max Payne universe playing as the son of max i just thought these kind of things would've been really cool.
Max payne 4 could work if th story was like he adopting a son an train him to protect himself. But the plot was already use it in last of us and god of war
Max Payne will always be in my heart. Would have been really interesting to see Remedy's version of MP3...? Overall though, I enjoyed 3 for what it is. And I'm excited for the remakes. Especially 2. Alan Wake 2 is something I'm excited about as well. Loved the 1st/remaster.

What I would like to see are events before Max Payne 1...that summer would be fine to it, like those were sunny, better days at NYPD.
Yes, Max Payne as an actual policeman, good old times. Not the depressing original we all know and love, but an innovation and original thing that does not go too far from that universe and story.
Father, we been waiting for you
Will you ever cover any of the manhunt games please?! I would love to see you do so!!!
max payne 3 is a masterpiece. would love to see them make number 4
Weird that not many people saw connection between FALL and all the raining in game. Glad it made it to video!
I’m pretty sure that guy who leaked gta 6 mentioned that he had info that R* was working on a MP4 but we still don’t know if it was true
If the remakes get enough traction + sales, we could see an installment from the series
I perssonally would've liked it if Max Payne 3 showcased Max as a private investigator given his noir inspiration.
6:35 Literally Alex Casey from Alan Wake 2
3:02 and it prominently features a song by "Poets of the Fall"
Whoa. I never knew that about "Fall of Max Payne"
If rockstar remastered Max Payne 3 before gta 6 releases then the sales wil surpass the original version
Love Remedy to death and I wish them the best, but that 'game every year' edict could hurt their quality.
1:16 He literally has a beer in the scene they are mentioning
I wouldnt have Max Payne 3 any other way to be honest. I am curious how their sequels would look like.
The best part about this video, is the way the CZcamsr presents this video; their tone and voice reminiscence a bit of Max Payne's.
I actually did an impression of Max before! At the end of the other video I did about how MP3 was gonna be set in Russia
Rest in Peace Jim.
Babe wake up badger gooder uploaded
Can't wait for the remakes!
This just reminded me of the Max Payne remaster. I wonder how thats going?
When you think about it,Max Payne 3 took place during summer when speaking about the different seasons spanning per each sequel mentioned in the video
I really like what R* did with Max Payne 3 the storyline gameplay was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 it was good they took it from Remedy. R* gave Max a purpose and soul like Corey Barlog did with Kratos in GOW PS4
Man your videos are always so good. Also, I am a big fane of Max Payne. Can't wait for the remakes of 1st and 2nd game.
It's not made by Rockstar tho so don't have high expectations.
@@fredster594 Have you played Alan Wake or Control? They're very high quality for a studio the size of Remedy.
@@theslamdancekid I agree 💯. Besides, I am glad Rockstar is not in charge of those because they are not the same company they used to be back in the day. They care about nothing other than pleasing 12 year olds with GTA V even after a decade. Such a shame.
Fane
@@fredster594 I know it's made by the original developer's of max Payne
You are finally back! Yeees
1:13
And he's got those calves!
I loved max Payne 3 (2 is hands down my favorite and probably my favorite game I’ve ever played) but I always wished Rockstar took the Russia route instead of Brazil I know they tried to make this a different max Payne game but I think Russia would of fit so much better with Max and the gritty stories that Sam lake laid out before Dan took over
3:32 I’m surprised to see grand concourse here lol
I believe if us as gamers and consumers keep telling devs via live chat or emails tell them constantly and consistently we need manhunt 3, midnight club 5, max payne 4 not just gta 6 rockstar don't need the money but can you imagine
As much as I enjoyed Max Payne 3, it honestly served like a "stand-alone" title as not much references or connections are made with the first and second game.
I've praised Max Payne 3 since the day it came out, it's still better than a lot of games coming out today in many ways
I would have liked it to have the same news paper type story telling as The first two entries
I loved all 3. I wish they'd bring back Max Payne 3's multiplayer on PS3
Max Payne 3 was awesome and i wish some company would do a remake of it
As you said it's been a year since the announcement of MP1+2 Remake by Remedy, made me realize that I haven't played the first game. It's been on my list for so long lol.
Maybe now it's time to play that game for real.
Man, I love watching videos of Max Payne.
To be fair, unless Remedy has some really amazing writing with some twist in gameplay, I can't see how they could extend what they ended with Max Payne 2. Not saying they aren't competent, but you got to know where your franchise will start to drag on.
They're definitely working on a new Max Payne game. and that red head girl from that other game.. Control. shes gonna be in it too.
Sam lakes writing style for max Payne 1 and 2 is called Hard Boiled.
i want to see Max Payne prequil as a cop in NYC, doing bullet time as gameplay machanic and then add the hot coffee mod for michelle when he goes home
Considering no Remedy game has been all that great since Max Payne 2, I can't honestly say it would've been better than what Rockstar did with Max Payne 3
I do really hope that Remedy takes their time to make the Max Payne remakes, because with the Dead Space and RE4 remakes, hell even Metroid Prime and that is just a remaster, but those works are not only that good to be as great as the originals but to elevate them and for some cases, bring new life to their franchises, so hopefully Remedy will do well
Bro i love your videos please upload more
I howled when I hear the title "Max springs fordward" I dunno why it made me laugh that hard. LOL
IMHO, that the potential for a sequel to 3 depends on how well the Remakes sell. I definetely want it.
Also, as much as it hurts that T2 has the IP right, I think 3 was awesome in its own right.
there was supposed to be a mona sax spin off game too!!! i think set between the first two games or so.
max payne 3 is such an underated game in my opinion its one of the best rockstar games ever made
Maan it's been a long time since I heard from the Max Payne series.
Old games to this day hold themself pretty well, i would like to see next Max Payne set to between 2 and 3 rather than remakes or "4".
Very awesome escalator footage
"Hand me what you got Mister and you won't get hurt...."
O wait wrong game 😅.
They buy it for the time bullet mechanic more that than for the story?
we could still get a Max Payne reboot game (or games) that tell the story of 9 years gap between 2003 (MP2) and 2012 (MP3)
but Rockstar just dont care, they are too busy making content for GTA online kids
I always thought what if mona and max had an child together at the end of the max Payne 2 like maybe raise his child alone and let nothing happen to him like what happened to his daughter Rose maybe we could have had another videogame related to max Payne universe playing as the son of max i just thought these kind of things would've been really cool.
Would've been awesome to see max child like 10 years old at that point in the 3rd franchise
Max payne 4 by rockstar could
Take place in a alternate timeline
Where mona sax lived after mp2.
Max payne 4 could work if th story was like he adopting a son an train him to protect himself. But the plot was already use it in last of us and god of war
i really missed your voice keep up and make video we all support you ;)
Max Payne will always be in my heart. Would have been really interesting to see Remedy's version of MP3...? Overall though, I enjoyed 3 for what it is. And I'm excited for the remakes. Especially 2.
Alan Wake 2 is something I'm excited about as well. Loved the 1st/remaster.
