- How Biotechnology Is Changing the World | Microorganisms | Biotech | Business Documentary from 2019
Developing new medicines, breeding better plant varieties, making cleaning supplies more efficient - biotechnology uses natural cellular and biomolecular processes to develop new technologies or improve existing products. In this film, we look at some of the most promising products being developed now and explore some of the potential dangers.
The biotech industry can be divided into three main sections: medicine and pharmaceuticals, industry and agriculture and plant biotechnology. Examples include single-use cutlery made out of maize, plants with inbuilt resistance to pests and heart valves and cartilage that can be cultivated artificially. The possibilities seem endless, because modern biotechnology goes a decisive step further than previous methods. But as this film reveals, the targeted use of microorganisms is extremely complex and there are fears this technology can be misused.

This is inspiring! I just started my Ph.D. in biotechnology. My goal is to create my own biotech startup in the next four years.
Hilary edema iam doing my ug in biotechnology please join me in your start up idea and I am from India
Congratulations on getting into a Ph.D. programme. I share similar ambitions. I hope you succeed in your endavours.
Congratulations. I got accepted in a molecular biotechnology PhD, I'm starting it on March. I'm also have that ambition 🧐
@@Quilomicron Congratulations.
All the best!
i’m in my first semester of biotech and it’s so awesome to see how incredible my major is, this video inspired me so much!!
Hello there, I'm in 12th grade and thinking about biotechnology major, I'm gathering information which may come in help future, so can you kindly tell me a bit more than usual which is not normally found in Internet? Like about the types of biotech, pros and cons(myb more pros not cons?), and myb some personal experience with biotech which is not too personal?
@@sassymochi4973 even I'm also so interested in biotechnology , please guide us
Me too
I also in first semester of biotech , this video define and make biotech to understand us, what it actual
@@sassymochi4973 hey ...whats the difference between major and minor in biotech ...pls guide me ...
Microbes are overworked employees who get paid very small salaries.
So cool. I work for a biotech start up focused specifically on upstream microbial fermentation (we make some biomass monitors and other tools for shake flask cultures) Super cool to see how exciting this space is becoming!
Finishing my master's degree program in biotech next semester! this video is great inspo!!
wow! early catcher here. and as a medical biotechnologist, i find this relevant to me.
You got a cool job !
Hey I'm a microbio and immunology student how did you get into the Industry?
Me too how do you get in the club?
as a biotech undergrad, how can i gain experience and exposure in the medical biotech side?
I am proud of bean a biotechnology i am studying degree final year tq for giving this wonderful vedio
As a biotech worker i love seeing videos like this ❤️
this documentary is amazing! what a wonderful explanation and contextualization on the subject. The technical visit in the video is very realistic and comprehensive.
This is inspiring ❤️ I'm doing my Final year PG in Biotechnology 🌻
Currently studying Biotech engineering in my country 😎
i'm a biotechnology student thank you for this video
Amazing video! Im hoping to apply to engineering with biotechnology next year, can’t wait to start
It's so inspiring. This year am going to abroad to complete my masters in biotechnology. 😊
Still a high school student but I really want to become a biotech scientist! It has been my dream ever since i was a child, and i have already taken the path for it ^^
Loved this. I am a biotechnologist and couldn't be more thrilled about this field's next achievements
You will be paid very poorly even with a PhD
Thank god I quit and changed careers after a regretful 3 years of biotech work
@@Po0pypoopy It depends on the country you do your phd…you can have a comfortable life in academia
@Jimbo Jones I worked in biotech for one year at just 16$ an hour with a bachelors and 2 post bacc certificates …… all companies offered me about the same pay.
Good thing I quit and now pursuing coding
Time to make a lot of money :)
@@Po0pypoopy was it in the US? If so, in what state? Thanks!

I'm in biochemistry and biotechnology depertment. I'm quite afraid about biochemistry but this is my own choice and I actually changed my depertment for this subject 🙂
I took microbiology last semester and I would say that biotech is so interesting and amazing!!!
Very enlightening. Major positive environmental impact.
Incredible! Glad to have pursued a PhD in biotech
This was an 'open eye' video. Super! Thanks.
Thank you for making this video , Endever. I really appreciate the work done in making this video.
I need this documentary even with subtitles
An excellent video. Thanks
Just got admission in BS Biotechnology, hope works out well.
We want such kind of latest biotechnologys Video. Its a intresting subject were so many field to improve our life.

this video is very helpful to understand biotechnology use in industrial use thanku
I needed this for my final project last year and now it just appears,,,,,,
This might help me to decide on my master. Almost done with my Bio B.Sc
Put a black background to your subtitles!
This was very hard to follow the subtitles when white text is often on a clinical white background or varying pale tones like Dr.Schrader's shirt!
Exciting video💯
this is outstanding but only few people have command on it. Biotechnologist from Pakistan
Assalamualaikum dude, I'm doing bachelors in biotech in pak could you tell me if you think becoming a biotechnologist in pak was worth it? Did you try abroad
Slightly less cool, I got my BA degree in bioprocessing science and minor in biomanufacturing!! I am so excited to work in the biopharmaceutical industry!
VP of pharma manufacturing 👩🏭 here. I have been involved in Ag chem as well. Very nice presentation. Please keep it up with the quality content
Hello I'm a microbio and immunology student how did u get into the industry ?
@@TheKooldude75 pretty much by accident. i have dual degrees in biotechnology/chemical engineering and a minor in chemistry. actually i really hadnt started utilizing my biotech degree except in the last decade or so. anyway, some friends who are consultants in the industry reached out to me as one of their projects was needing a site leader to start up the new API manufacturing site. they knew about my process engineering experience /plant management experience in other fields and BOOM. the rest is history.
What do you think of cellular agriculture for the production of our foods such as diary, meat, fish/seafood, leather and other alternative proteins?
@@onlymediumsteak9005 my only comment on that aspect is "...brave new world..."
Woah! I am also a passionate biotech student.
Truly inspired ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful video 👌☺️
Saben si hay traduccion al español o con subtitulos? ☺️
you've got to read out the subtitles, not all of us watch the videos and prefer to listen to them.
it's so small you can't read it, so i don't. This video doesn't shine any light on the bad part of this. God bless.
better learn german my friend lol
I study master in general microbiology. Now want to work in the field of food nanaopackaging.
Kinda weird but nice to have this Bilingual kind of documentary, but i‘m lovin it. Less nuance gets lost. 😁

The world needs to adopt PLA technology asap.
Could be very significant if the supply is adequate.
SUMMARYof the video:
Biotechnology is a fascinating field that holds the potential to revolutionize various industries. From using microorganisms to produce entirely new substances in fields of Pharma, industrial and agricultural to creating sustainable products and processes, the possibilities seem endless. It's like discovering a whole new pathway to developing innovative products and tackling today's challenges. Nature has so much to offer, and with biotechnology, we are just scratching the surface of what it can do. It's a journey filled with excitement, curiosity, and hope, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this rapidly evolving technology.
But there is more to that, and i recommend watching the full video. HF
I really want to start studying biotech but I am concerned about the wages I found during my research, does anyone here know how reality looks like?

Getting my degree in biotechnology soon
I am preparing to study biotech in my Masters degree.
What about food technology
Let's hope we're all on the cutting edge and not too late, yes?
It definetly chages the world but not for its best.
Is there job for bsc Or msc in biotechnology @india
Free ka gyan hai bhai.....there is no Boom in Biotechnology in India 😂
Coding sikh le bhai nahi toh zindagi jhand ho jayegi koi jobs nahi hai 😂
Hmm, as far as I can see PLA takes around 80 years to "biodegrade".
My exact thought it’s bio based but not that biodegradable
do you think that’s what they could achieve? or do you think they came up with this timeline because they predicted there would be some form of over saturation of the biodegradable plastic in the environment and no way to balance it with all other life forms

MSc biotechnology best course tell me
Please if anyone is reading this..
Please tell what is tge highest paying job in biotechindustry
Proud to be Biotechy. But no job🥲🤧
I'm in my 12th thinking of taking biotechnology as my career
Hi anjali, even I am planning to take biotech as well....are u applying in India or abroad ??
It is making the rich richer and not really solving our problems. The disease and problems are increasing day by day.
If you are going out of india for higher studies then biotech is best option but in India salary is very less when it comes to jobs and very less biotech company.
I am going to study biotechnology, but I am not sure if I made the right decision do you advise me to study it
why not?
i don't know too because i don't think i can work with a bs degree in my country where research is loww

No, bacteria always evolve and create pathways to overcome environmental dangers. Our intensive usage of antibiotika therefore accelerated the development of immunity
