Putting armor on the pilot, the fuel section and the engines would compromise the great ability of the Zero to be agile... For me, I believe the Zero and the Mustang are two sides of one coin... The Mustang being more maneuverable while the Zero being agile...

Because in WW2, all they had are guns and well, that's the essence of dog fighting... Shooting one's enemy by guns... WW2 produced a line of amazing aces in my standpoint...

I think americans making their planes like most best.
Mustang was only good at high altitudes, but just above the ground was not so good.
In time when p51 came to pacific many of best japanese pilots was dead. And that pilots who was still alive was usually young pilots. So i think they have very easy fights with these unexperienced pilots. Few metres over ground was better zero but only in situation when in plane was good pilot.

P-51 and Zero are a different class of plane and belong to different eras. the Zero has no chance against a P-51 with a competent pilot.
This is true. The results of those fights prove what I just said.
Richard White In a turn fight a Zero would slaughter a P51, no doubt about it. It would certainly have been an interesting afternoon if American pilots had played that particular game.
At that stage in the war however the strengths and weaknesses of Japanese aircraft had been carefully analysed and tactics devised on how to deal with them. American planes, such as the P51 where generally more powerful, heavier and faster than a Zero. This meant that they could always disengage from a fight with a Zero by diving away. American fighter pilots had a mantra, do not turn or climb with a Zero. Pilots who followed these rules were safe unless they were caught by surprise by Zeros at a higher altitude. Americans would try to have the upper hand by being at a high altitude, make a pass at the enemy planes and then fly away without turning since that way the Zeros would be left behind. Then they could have another pass later if they wished. The Japanese did develop aircraft that could compete with a P51, the Shinden Kai, Ki-84 and Ki-100 but it was too little too late given other factors such as a lack of good pilots, resources/fuel and the fact that B-29 bombers were destroying the factories that produced those planes...

Zero is great plane but i dont understand why Japanese never make plane where was pilot,fuel tanks and engine protected by armor it was wasting of human lifes.
