Obi I christened my grill with these tonight & OMG!!!! Even the dog was sniffing the air trying to figure out what smelled so good!!!! I’ve made shish kebab before and never been happy with them. The labneh worked fine & the chicken was SO TENDER!!! I have found my “go to” recipe & so happy I have leftovers for the next couple days!!!! Thank you!!!!
Yay, I'm so happy you liked it. Sounds like your dog has good taste. We just made it as well again and it was as good! Glad you liked it
LOL!!!!!!
These are amazing!
Using the flatbread to pull the kebab off the skewer is so satisfying to me, i love when cuisine is practical like this!
My favorite thing about yogurt based marinades is that the yogurt has lactic acid which occurs naturally in muscle tissue, so those kinds of marinades don't break down the meat like vinegar based marinades that tend to make meat mushy
Thanks ! That is a great info
this may be true but the recipe also has lemon juice and vinegar (citric and acetic acids)
Vinegar has pH level of 2-3 Lactic acid is 4.5-7 nothing to do with naturally occuring just different acidity
@@brewskii9580 trust me, I'm a youtube commentor
VINEGAR-based marinades?? did I read that right???

You guys are awesome! I've been wanting to learn about authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, but find not knowing Arabic is quite a limitation. It's great that you do ;)
Just made this in my air fryer since I don't have a grill and it still turned out AMAZING! Thank you for this recipe, it is the bomb!!!

It would be helpful if you had a recipe page so I can upload it into my recipe app. Love the content.
Your recipe is perfect. I tested it and my son rolled his eyes with delight, while eating 😋😋😋 I used chicken thigh fillets and marinated it overnight. Just so delicious. Thank you so much for this recipe 🙏🏻🙏🏻
That looks so good! Can’t wait to use that marinade on my next chicken skewer night for the family!

Ive been waiting to make these Kababs for a while, managed to today, what a superb taste, chicken so succulent, wifey said she loved them too but maybe tone down the heat. Thank you very much for sharing, I will definitely be cooking more of your recipes 😂
Wonderful video.
Shishtao always reminds me of my grandpa, lovely ☺️☺️❤️
That looks fantastic. I really want to try that.
I make these skewers often with a greek style yoghurt marinade. Next time I'll try yours! THX and 👍
Wonderfully done, thanks a million for this.
I grew up with mushrooms being the vegetable of choice with taouk instead of onions and peppers, I have to say those were a first for me. But nonetheless this looks absolutely fantastic!

I don't know if you've done it yet, but have you thought about showing how to make an easy Tahdig (hope I remembered the spelling right)? That crispy layer of rice common in Iranian/Persian cuisine. I've only done it once but my children loved it.
looks amazing
Uuuu, im gonna use it next month, thanks
Making this right now. I subbed Kefir for yogurt and Aleppo chile powder for the paprika in the tomato paste substitute. 😁
Just followed this recipe and put the marinated chicken in the fridge.....let's see im excited 😊😊
pls include volume measurements! so tasty
Very nice, sir!
Request: feteer meshaltet recipe please! I've seen and tried many, but they're not the same as in Egypt.
excellent video
When I made this, I only used half the marinade, there was plenty. It’s so good we heated it up and used it as an after sauce - it’s so good!
Same!
Just you know, my small business restaurant is based on a lot of your recipes and we’re doing great! Thanks buddy!
Hahaha that's awesome! Patreon.com/MiddleEats if you want to support our recipe development 😁

Pro tip: if you want to make a small portion indoors and still want it to be a bit charred and juicy, experiment with an air fryer on 190-200C. The convection makes for a very nice end result 😊

How about doing it in a small OTG ?

Sweet grill Bro😍
I made these tonight for my wife and myself, she was skeptical but loved it and I absolutely loved it. I added a bit of hot paprika as well for a little bit of spice.
I actually made them in my airfryer and they turned out absolutely amazing, we will definitely do it again. Thank you
Hey, im going to try this, can you tell me what setting and what rack you used?
@@RDR1456 I had it at 180 Celsius but overcooked it, honestly I would max it at 240 for less time, thats what a BBQ will do any way, just temp probe it to ensure they are cooked and after a couple of times you will know what to do.
I've a Ninja AF400 so there are no racks, jus
t 2 baskets
SO YUM
Nice food & bbq grill-what brand is it?
Nice Turkish recipe!
Woooow sooo tempting really delicious recipe thanks for sharing such a nice Recipe 👍 Great job well done 👍👍 8
awesome recipe chef , please show ARABIC AREEKHA recipe please
Beautiful Guga tribute 🔥
This looks Devine. Please send me the link as where I can bye these Skewers. Thank u
I love the loud rock music for the grill shots. Great satire on yank BBQ shows
Hey, can you please make a detail video for tips and tricks on using charcoal grill?
This really is great, had it last week after a while of eating the Turkish version (which is also great). The yogurt and sourness in this was a really refreshing change for me.
Man, they are professionals at it.
This turned out amazing in the oven in the Broil setting. I don't have 3 of those spices, so I used garam masala and added a couple teaspoons of turmeric for color. I also used some mint.
I made a second batch tonight and used too much ginger. I recommend everyone who is adjusting to add more ginger or more turmeric as a last resort, as it probably just needs more salt or more lemmon
Looks amazing. Big fan of the channel for a while now, thank you! Been eating a lot more M.E. dishes and your hummus is the best on the Tube.
I recognise the thin pitta I love from my local Lebanese mezza place but can't seem to find it anywhere else - does it have a name? Do you make it yourself, or does anywhere sell it? S.W. London.
Hey Will, It's generally called Khubz. It is just regular pitta rolled out super thin and baked. The rolling thin is hard though without a machine. I buy it. You can find it at any turkish grocery store, there should be plenty in SW London. If you can't find one, there is a branch of TFC (Turkish Food Centre) somewhere in south.
Looks amazing. I’m keen to know what grill that is too! Anyone know?
Food of the gods.
I made this yesterday for an indoor barbeque ( thems the vagaries (HMHB) of the British weather). I had looked at a number of other recipes for Shish Taouk on CZcams but none had the lurid orange colour of yours, which I liked btw. I assumed Turmeric, which I added, but it is not included in your list of ingredients. Could you enlighten me? Love the channel btw.
Nice
I hate you mate!
I'm spending my lunch break watching your videos thinking about all that delicious food you cooking! ;)
But to be serious, I've tried couple of yours recipes and they blowing socks off!
Keep them coming!
Wonderful recipe! I make it all the time. How come yours ends up so yellow? Mine tends to be more reddish brown
My goodness. I did this this weekend and I am very popular now with the wife. She lost her 2pounds weight that was hard to shift.
I can thoroughly recommend you try this.
That grilling montage with the music giving Guga vibes 🤣
And angel will hate greens at end😂
Lesssss doit
Are you jealous 😂
I’m a big fan of the Iran one that uses saffron
Loved the Guga vibes during the grill presentation 🤣
Lol even the English guy has to do the American style slow grill shot with distorted guitar soundtrack. What can you say, its a classic, innit?
yummy
Taste will blow you away.
Ooooh, the Adam knife.
Char, peel, and coarsely dice a red pepper, throw it in with the blitz, if you can't get the paste? Just a thought..
This looks so good!!! Thank you so very much for sharing this with us! I want to make it, but I don't have a grill like that. If I were to use the broiler how long should I cook the chicken for?
Try 10-12 minutes per side, but keep an eye on them.
I use a metal oven dish to hold the skewers, with baking paper to catch the drips.
I’d say more like 8-10 minutes per side with the broiler on. They dried out when I left them in for longer.
Yep 8-10 minutes per side. Put the broiler on high, and either skewer them or put them over a wire rack. Put the tray close to the broiler and check it with a thermometer for doneness
If I can't get hold of the red pepper paste could I use Korean gochujang as a substitute?
Nice 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Tamam, shukran 😎
Could you add sliced cucumber and tomato to the pita as well or do those flavors clash?
I hope the grill gets that intro every time you use it!
Just for anyone wondering what to add to the sandwich, you can use some fries and pickles and it will taste even better
Made these today, marinated for 7 hours, they were superb!
Nothing beats charcoal. Where do you get these charcoal style grills (without grills) to make kebabs and lay the skewers?
Great recipe. One humble suggestion - that marinade sauce looks so good I'd set somenaside to use as a dipping sauce or condiment.
