Beautiful Norman Rockwell. That painting was part of his Freedom series and is entitled Freedom from Fear. The parents were safely tucking the children into bed as World War II raged on in Europe (depicted in the newspaper heading in the father’ hand).

Yes, our precious children are more in peril now than they were in WW2. Rockwell in his wildest imagination, would have never though the assault would be so great against our American children as it is now. Prayers!
My Dad was a big Norman Rockwell fan . We had a lot of prints/ pictures in our home growing up. I kept 2 of them and hung them in my house after he passed away. Reminds me of him.
Andrea a tree would be beautiful in the middle of your office with the French doors framing the tree. I would fill the bookcases full of Christmas treasures for you and the boys. I can just picture that in my mind. Decorate the living room leading to your special Christmas room. Love your videos and your beautiful house. God bless and have a wonderful day.

Nice thriftes items ...large pitcher nice on his nightstand...love the nostalgia of the horn....we had three of them and we hung them from coffee hooks into the ceiling corners (out a little bit so they hung freely ). I think with just a narrow red bow and a spring of greenery. ..just simple and then the tree in the 4th corner....the boys came in Christmas morning and tried to blow them....they were in their teens....one is now 52 and the other is with Jesus in heaven with his sister ....so the memory of them blowing the horns is special to me now all these years later. Thank you for the memory.

Love the NR print with the horses... but would try and get a mat for it in a more muted tone to blend with the horses. Keeping all the frames gold has a unity to it as a grouping. As for Christmas, you can't help but think about it as its in all the stores ... and Hallmark Christmas movies on TV . I don't usually decorate the living areas til the Thanksgiving dishes are done and the leftovers are in the fridge!

I just might have to look for one too! So many possibilities to use them! I really like the pitcher on the night stand! Maybe you could use your dark gray duvet with another color to deepen your room? Gray/blue or even a taupe? I agree with you about Christmas. Too short so I start before Thanksgiving to. Have a nice weekend.

I love that Norman Rockwell print. I live in England and a few years ago there was an exhibition of his paintings just outside London. It was the first time they had been outside the US. It was wonderful.

Love the Norman Rockwell print and love the picture frame with the light sage mat. I agree double sided tape with that sage green mat showing around the edge. Beautiful, love the other items as well!
I love going thrifting with you Andrea. The pitcher you found is so beautiful on your husbands night stand. And I do love the Norman Rockwell print, I’m just not sure about the frame.
I am also excited (and impatient) to start decorating for the Christmas season. We put so much time, effort ( and money) into making our homes beautiful, so I see no problem with starting early. I usually start the first week of November with small touches of simple decor like wreaths , neutral throw pillows and blankets etc. Then I add more “Christmas decor” as time goes by.
I will confess something though…I have already started decorating in my bedroom 😆 I found a soft and cozy dark green reversible fleece/white sherpa blanket and a gorgeous faux cedar wreath a few weeks ago and I just couldn’t wait to use them 😝

You mentioned about your bedding being more summer feeling. This may not be you but maybe get a nice sice blanket for the end of the bed that is maroon that is a pretty color to blend with the your bedding and other stuff. that may not be your color but some kind of big blanket for the end of the bed in a darker color might look good. Just a thought.
I love the print and the frame it really pops in the gold frame. It is always fun to go out hunting for new items for the home. The best thing is that you do not need to spend a lot to make something look great.
I couldn’t agree more !! We spend so much time decorating for Christmas is wonderful to enjoy it for more than a months .. I actually start November 1st .. working in the bedrooms, bathrooms, hallway, kitchen, dining room then the living room with the tree 🎄 I can’t wait 🤗

My mother did a whole bedroom of the Norman Rockwell pictures, she also framed them herself like you did.
I love the Norman Rockwell print! I have a set of four that were my fathers and then were in my brothers room growing up. It is a sports themed Norman Rockwell set and I love it in my boys room! We are so excited for Christmas as well this year!
The outer matte on the picture look great and helps the frame pop some.

I have a few Norman Rockwell paintings and love all he does. The horn and pitcher were great finds and In the fall I like to distribute small gourds around my house. Enjoyed this post thanks for sharing.

I start decorating for Christmas November 1st but trees don’t go up until mid to late November. I’ve seen stuff in vintage shops and it inspires me so (and I get that rush of excitement too). Last year I moved into my home in Nov. so it felt so rushed but I’m extra excited this year to enjoy it all

I like the print you choose and I think the Gold frame would work. I really like your simple decor it's not overdone.
Fall is my favorite season to decorate for, so Christmas can wait! I don't decorate for Christmas till December 1st, but I enjoy the four that it lasts. In January I switch out anything super Crhistmasy and just do winter themed decor so that extends the season for another month.

That pitcher is a real find. You passed up a do red mixing bowl, I believe it to be a vintage piece from England. Some great stuff at that shop.

Andrea, I knew you would pick up the pitcher and the picture. I could see you using the picture in your boys room and I love the frame. I also use pitchers for flowers. It’s better than any vase. I got rid of all my vases years ago.

Absolutely! OUR LR space has changed with furniture coming and furnitre going out, NO place for a tree Gotta figure this out! We h ave been DEEP purging closets etc. The house feels like it can BREATHE a bit better.

Love your lil haul. Big NR fan too. Perfect boy's room piece. Ah, Christmas! I start beginning of Nov with lit trees, lit garland, wreaths, candlesticks in the windows. The woodsy/rustic/winter type we don't have naturally in S FL. Add in more typical Christmas right after Thanksgiving, if I can wait that long! Then after Christmas the holiday stuff goes and I add in a bit more winter. Making a change of seasons inside. ❤🎅🤶🎃 😊

Hi Andrea ~ Funny you should ask about decorating for Christmas! I decorated this year for Autumn in August…first time doing that….BUT I was having retina surgery and the recovery was 2-3 WEEKS laying flat on my stomach, face down . Which meant I would be decorating now for Autumn. Now that that surgery is healed, next eye surgery is in 2 weeks and another long recovery process. So I’m decorating for WINTER… Christmas … ( I don’t put a tree up anymore with my back…tooo hard and painful ☹️) So next week I may be pulling my pine garlands, wreaths, and stems out to decorate. I did last year also. It is just my husband and myself for Thanksgiving…so bring on the Pine boughs and winter, cozy items! Nativity Sets come out in December… have to have my collection of Nativity Sets out! A little red/burgundy in the mix. But I leave my pine out until the end of Feb since we are in a snow belt ! ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ it is cozy and warm to have the greenery around.
Maybe it is my age and I need Christmas to last for 3 months because everything seems to go to fast ! 🤷♀️ But these eye surgeries have given me justification to decorate early….LOL!!! Or maybe it takes me 3 months to get the look I want and then take it down…🤷♀️ LOL!!

@@sharonrose2963 Hi Sharon ~ they certainly are not the same when you loss family members, children marry and move away. All of a sudden you sit face to face with just your husband …. I have a hard time cooking for just 2 people…LOL ! Now I know why many seniors eat out…share a meal and no dishes…LOL!

Hi Andrea! I went try to buy the farlov chairs that you have...but sadly they're discontinued ...however i found a cute little lamp called 'Tarnaby'..it was marked down in the 'as is' section...im in love..it kinda reminds me of the old kerosene lamps...but it plugs in and you can adjust it to flicker...it adds the most lovely low warm light.. in dim corners on a cloudy day...I created a cute vignette with an old book, a little glass vase and a tiny natural birds nest...so cute!! It would be so cute in your fall room..it makes me think of times when reading by candle 🕯 light was a thing...
Loved that thrift store and oh my that pitcher was meant for that nightstand.perfect. I have been overwhelmed with people doing Christmas shop with mes. I love Christmas but some started in september.ugg to soon lol.
