Honestly.. my biggest fear too. I'm an only child. My mom and stepdad are getting older and have health problems. My bf is 60 😂 and I'm 33.. I have no friends... just my son. It's literally just going to be me and my son and I'm starting to cry as a type this 🥺
You have to force yourself out of your comfort zone. Mingle with other parents/ guardians at your sons school/events events. Mingle with your son’s friend’s parents. Even try reconnecting with childhood friends or old acquaintances and just catch up with them. Also, there’s nothing wrong with considering your son to be your only friend. I’m a 24 year old son and I’ll still tell people my mom is my best friend. Love it or hate it that’s just a bond that no one can break
You have a child at least! I’m 40 and couldn’t have children due to health issues and my boyfriend is 55 Monday. My parents are 65 and 68 and I’m starting to have panic attacks regularly about this very thing. I keep picturing myself elderly wandering around with 7 cats and dogs bc that’s all I’ll have, not even a child (unless boyfriends kids desire) to check in. Loneliness is a real fear. Surround yourself with those you love and don’t give up on the promise of tomorrow and the possibility of something new coming into your life. Everyone deserves love and happiness. ❤️

His Mother abandoned the family, he found his Dad dead when he was 16 and then his grandmother, who was raising Ryan and his brothers at this point, died too. So the 3 sons were put in the custody of the “mother” who instantly moved out to be with her boyfriend leaving her sons behind again…I hope that’s accurate. He’s had more than his fair share, that’s for sure.
