- starting out on Ross Barnett Reservoir fishing but only caught one crappie due to a lot of fresh water in the river coming in but it was a slab. then I get the lawn mower tuned up and get the grass cut , some pottery made and then up late changing elements in one of my kilns so I can fish one more day this week

I cringed when you put the 1st crappie in the cooler. It was full of eggs. You should have thrown it back. I'm an avid fishing women and I'm not starving. So pregnant fish go back. I still love you though. Lol

Right now every crappie is going to be full of eggs. This is one reason they need to be caught and kept. As good as they are they populate very fast and have to be fished hard in mist lakes to prevent overpopulation and stunted fish. It doesn’t seem right but its true. The fish you saw in this video was actually released later because we didnt catch many . It was in a live well in the boat.
