    I`ve been doing windows for 10 + years and I use a paint can opener to get the screens out. Those paint can opener cost less than a knife to screw driver. And cause less damage to the screen and frame when you to take it off. Also because of the angle of the paint can opener it can allow you to be able to grab the back part of the screen. A lot of cleaners that use the knife or screwdriver in my area usually bends the screen frames as the remove the screens. I call the paint can openers my magic tool to remove screens.

    I have a customer in an industrial unit and she mentioned she''d like the inside windows cleaned, trouble is there is a load of storage units in front of the windows - I think she expects me to move them to clean the windows (no way hose) - people think w/cleaners are stupid/desperate so they try and take advantage. Worse part of being a w/cleaner? - what people think of you for doing the job.

      I've seen some that had shutters installed on the inside on third story windows, too high to get to with a ladder, so you either have to harness up and rappel down to the window on a rope from the roof or remove the shutters and pull the windows out from the inside.

    in my area we charge 5 per flat window inside and out, 6 for sliders and 10 for colonials, French doors, windows included. we went up and got turned down alot, that price seems to be the sweet spot. 3 houses a day roughly 149.00 per house x 6 days a week= alot of cheddar. we run one man per job and they do 3 per day.

    Keith, your videos are awesome! I am an experienced window cleaner from London, England learning a LOT from you about the American window cleaning market. Over there the window cleaner mainly just cleans glass, frames and sills so it's great to learn how to price all the extra stuff like screens and tracks, etc. I was wondering what kind of vacuum and attachments you use to vac out the tracks? Could you recommend a track vacuum system for under $100 that isn't a piece of crap? Thanks!

      What I do is move the items but don't put them back. And then I leave a note explaining why and it says basically it's out of fear of damaging anything. And in future could they please be sure to move everything out of the way first. I word it in a way to make out like their items are of great $ value or sentimental value rather than the real reason which is it slows me down and I get pissed off.

      Different countries seem to be conditioned to paying certain prices aye. In New Zealand the maximum we can charge. Is $1.50- $2.00 per pane of glass (both sides). When I hear the prices Keith talks about I get jealous.

    • @aallard3959
      @aallard3959 Před 8 lety +1

      Nicholas Evans Wow, in Canada the prices are threw the roof, a two story house I charge anywhere from 250-400 for inside and outside, I also do the screens. Window cleaning here isn't like it is in the UK where you have tons and tons of people doing it. I just started my business last year, started off doing little 100-200 dollar jobs. This summer I have some weeks book where I clear 2200. It is a great business if your good with people and fair, they dont buy the window cleaning, they buy you being approachable and trustworthy.
