  • This is a comprehensive guide on Soft Autumn vs True Autumn color palettes. Here I will discuss why Florence Pugh is not solely Soft Autumn and why it's actually wrong to think so, as well as why Shailene Woodley is not going to be exclusively True Autumn. Here you will discover an In-Transition type and see if that description fits your parameters.
Hope that the video can help you with our color analysis.

This was so very helpful! I am soft autumn but lean more to true autumn as I am quite warm, but I can wear some of the cooler soft summer colors, too. This confused me but your video answered my questions. Thank you!

Thank you very much, I'm not quite sure if I'm even an Autumn but this was very helpful.

I hope you'll do one on dark autumn, if you haven't already.

That was very enlightening, thank you 😊 I was characterized as a true autumn, however, I have blonde highlights and I love baby blue and pastel pink and I think they suit me very well and people tell me that they make me look fresh and vibrant.. so it could be that I’m moving more towards the soft autumn then 😉

You have such a warm, soothing voice and way to speak, I always think that it´s such a wonderful match for your/our topic. 💖💖
I have to say however that I just don´t like Florence Pugh in one of these bright colours, even the bright orange makes her face looksomewhat dirtier. Florence looks stunning in the pale pastels, but when I try to look at her in this pink gown, she is completely invisible in my eyes. I think I would stick for her with the soft palette.
Regarding Shailene´s colouring: she was classified (by the big down under institute) as True Autumn. Yet, I don´t feel this. To me she is much closer to deep autumn already.
The first pic with this pale rose I can´t see her at all here, her face vanishs on top of the dress because the contrast is too low.
She appears much less warm, but looks awesome in this bright tomato red, even better than in this more autumnal bronze brown gown. That´s interesting. I would see her as deep between autumn and winter.
This blonde is so off on her, looks like a wig. 🙈🙈

I landed here wondering why on earth as a soft autumn by almost every book, a deep steel pink would suit me was well as it does? I have discovered part of the answer in your analysis of Florence. In the end I've decided that it's impossible to determine something to subjective and I will carry on with my favourite colours irrespective of whether they are recommended or not. Thank you for your wisdom.

That’s my experience! I have pale olive skin, a little like sand and I suit a lot of palettes depending of my level of tan! When I’m very tanned I can wear soft summer and all the autumns beautifully (and some spring) but in winter I get super pale and look so good in deep autumn and deep winter but horrible in spring and too warm - soft colours. It’s crazy but my wardrobe looks completely different in summer and winter

With this transitional type information the penny is finally dropping. I have been so confused- am I soft Autumn ( my best colours green shades eg khaki and bottle or forest , but the colour which has always got me the most compliments is a cooler shade, turquoise blue or azure blue in those bright tones. I am now thinking I might be transitional. I have eyes that change colour from dark green to turquoise to blue depending on what I am wearing, I think my eyes are quite cool but my hair is brown with warm reddish highlights , though I have dyed it for years and I think my original shade was more ash brown , mid to dark brown colour. My skin , another anomaly to me- tans easily and has a yellow tone ( a skin Doctor once described me as fair with a touch of olive) but have also been described as very fair though to be fair in winter I am. And I have red undertones my cheeks are often pink and when I was a girl I used to get really pink cheeks. So confused. Do I have warm or cool skin tones?
Sorry about the ramble but it’s fascinating subject and I have to crack this mystery of my colour type. I learnt a lot listening to you , this was really interesting .

Everytime i watch im always confused going on 2 yrs now trying to self analyse...i always gravitate towards cool colors and since i stoped colouring my hair i found colors i thought didnt suit me before now do. Eveytime i think i land somewhere like true summer maybe soft summer then i listen to more videos & get lost again what you said about the eyes rings home with me my eyes always looked brown not very deep and with aging it is bringing out more green i never saw before

Yes, because we tend to change in time. This is why I always advocate for multiple color palettes because I am not just a color typist - I am an artist ( color is not just 1 aspect and that is all). Most likely you will have 1 family where you belong and one or few other that you will switch during the year if you change. I will discuss it in details in the future. But one of the best discussions that you could potentially watch is this: czcams.com/video/FAmfrZaJ-lU/video.html

I have a question. I'm really frustrated about my personal color. I am neutral warm undertone with true black hair and dark brown eyes. My skin is is brighter in the winter and become tan in summer . Whether I am a dark Alton or a warm Alton or in the middle? Thank you
