    Good to see the brake module working on your bike. I bought the ST2 Turn Signal Module and the ST2 Brake module for my 2021 BMW G310GS, and decided to have the BMW dealer install them so I didn't make any mistakes that would void my warranty. Unfortunately the Turn Signal module can't be fitted to BMWs with the CANBUS system, this was irritating because their website claims it is compatible with my bike. The mechanic then fitted the Brake Module but could not get it to work as per the specs so removed it and gave it back to me to return to ST2. All round that wasn't a great outcome. But in theory they are both great safety products that should be standard on all bikes I think.

      Actually mine quit working and the sent me the gen 2 model. I haven’t installed it as of yet but it works on my K bike.

    Hi when you got yours did it sound like something was loose inside the module. Mines arrived today and that’s how it sounds.

      No but a friend had that happen and ST2 replaced it. Mine has now failed as well so I'm waiting to hear back from them now. Have you installed yours?

      @@buzzmoto yea I installed it thinking that was normal or something. But when the logo is up and I’m decelerating the brake light just flickers. Then I turned it upside down and the brake light just stays on. Even if I’m not moving.

    hello, I also installed the k1600 from 2013, but it gives me an error on board something related to the bulb, the error is yellow, as seen in your video, did you somehow manage to solve the problem?

    • @buzzmoto
      @buzzmoto  Před rokem +1

      No, it flashes when the ST2 engages. I don’t know how to correct it. It acts as an indicator though and tells you when the flasher is on.

    Hey, Buzz, any idea what the color code is for the power wire on a 2018 GTL harness (or where I might look to find it). I've turned the internet and the K bike forum upside down and can't find the color code anywhere.

    • @buzzmoto
      @buzzmoto  Před rokem

      It should be Grey/Red two-tone. It is on my 2014.

      @@buzzmoto Right, as it says in the install guide. but as luck would have it there is no Grey/Red in the 2018 harness! I kept digging and finally found my answer on the Skene website: the power wire on 2018s is Brown/Orange! Thanks for trying - the rest your video is still very useful.

      That is not uncommon it seems. I helped a friend install on into his CanAm Spyder and we had to just test the wires with a multimeter because the diagram was wrong.

    Hello! Good job! A couple of questions, please. 1. What year is your K1600? 2. Can it be wired to the top case brake light as well? 3. Is that rear tire TPMS in Red on your dash (right side)? Thanks!

    • @buzzmoto
      @buzzmoto  Před rokem

      Mine is a 2014. I don’t have the top case light but where I installed the connectors should actuate one if it was installed since it plugs into the wiring harness. Yes, my TPMS sensor was dirty and giving a fault code. Thanks for watching!

      As per your wiring instructions it only activates my main brake light and not the top box brake light. If I connect to the same wire colours at the top box plug only the top box brake light works 🥴

    save your money and the xetra cost of having replace your brake light. This modula fried my brake light and never worked from the get go. It rattles like a SOB because theres a TILT SWITCH and NOT a GYROSCOPE as advertised. DON NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

    Heads up to anyone thinking of buying the latest V3 version of the ST2 brake module.
    Its advertised as...
    "ST2 Brake Module uses an accelerometer and motion detection sensors combined with a proprietary algorithm to detect engine-braking or down-shifting.
    It’s an intelligent system that doesn’t interfere with the actual brake light operation."
    That sounds like it has a 6 axis IMU doesnt it? It does not... it has a simple tilt switch.
    I could have cobbled one using a tilt switch for less than £5. This corner cutting simplicity of a cheap tilt switch provides no frame of reference for the attitude of the bike which means that it could also activate going down a hill even when not slowing.
    Also... and I quote directly...
    "FLASHES YOUR BRAKE LIGHT WHEN SPEED DECREASES DUE TO ENGINE
    BRAKING OR DOWN-SHIFTING"
    This is false... it flashes once on initial power up but in normal functioning use it only activates the brake light on de-acceleration with no flashing. Misleading advertising.
    Earlier version/s used to also have the flashing option if mounted upside down but they have done away with that in the V3.... and if you want that capability you now have to buy their new brake flasher seperately.... its called the ST2 Strober and its not advertised to the general public... (maybe to hide the fact that the V3 doesn't have this functionality any longer?) You are only informed about its existance by email after you have bought the ST2 brake module... and its an extra £34.39 posted just to have the same functionality of the previous versions of the brake module... obviously to make more money.
    To have only half the functionality of the previous version and not making their customers aware is as low as it comes.I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known and I feel ripped off. Not a good way to do business ST2 but don't worry I'm going to post this on every video site I can find so that prospective buyers can make fully informed decisions, they deserve to know what they are really buying and not to be deceived.

      I just also found out mounting it upside down does not allow flashing. Logo up only 😡
