I’ve had three stihl trimmers for two years and have had several issues with them, this was my 4th year with my 260t redmax trimmers and just started having issues with them this year. Plus they are lighter and have lots of power in my opinion
I love your videos, because you shoot straight. You're not like some of these "kids" out here that think they know it all after only being in the l/c business for 3-4yrs. Thank you for taking your time to post your videos! Many are very educational for me. I'm a 51yr old part timer/weekend, and before and after work warrior, that's trying to supplement my income. And you've helped me more than I have time to type in this comment! So, thank you! Personally I've had good luck with both brands, Stihl, and Red Max. But my dealer doesn't carry Red Max. Good luck with the new sticks and Blowers! And, please keep the videos coming!
I’ve had nothing but problems with my stihl equipment. Stick equipment has been broken more than it’s been used. I’ve started moving to the echo. I bought a 2620 earlier this year and have literally beat it to death, even fell off the trailer in the middle of the road, and keeps going! I’ve looked at redmax and husquvarna. Can’t wait to see how they do for you
I went from Redmax to Echo (same thing) but it's a little cheaper. Its more readily available in most areas, parts easier to come by when needed. But I've had tons of redmax, and now all echo.. same equipment. Good change in my opinion
Red Max sticks have to warm up before you terrorize the turf..once warm, the beast comes out!! I let mine idle at half choke for a minute or two, then it's trim time. Best stick for bed edging I've found. My Echo, covered in dust, all it sees is occasional start up, Echo edger, will be Red Max when she dies.
I have never had good luck with sthil stick equipment. We do run their blowers because they work well for us. We switched over PAS equipment several years back and have been happy. It's light, relatively inexpensive, and far more easier to start than stihl. We have three trucks running it everyday and rarely have problems.
I don't do lawn care for a living, but a good dealer and service dept if the key. I have always had large properties and have Husqvarna trimmers and chainsaws that have ran for many years with a lot abuse and they just keep going. I purchased a new cab tractor a couple years ago and saw how great the 45 year family owned dealer was to work with and he carries Husqvarna, so I purchased Husqvarna 60" commercial zero turn, blower, trimmer and edger. No repairs needed on any of them to date, but one good dealer to take care of everything makes life much easier.
Husqvarna is definitely my brand of choice but you made the right decision going with what your dealer of choice has to offer. Dealer support is key in this business especially for the owner operators.
I have found pump fuel bulb on stihl 5 times sometimes you dont need the choke may idle up a tad. If it doesn't start with 2 pulls open throttle alittle restart cranks right up. Cranks one pull rest of the day.
I'm looking at new equipment away from the 94s. Duck the clutch and filter system on them. I will say I like the convenience they offer with 1 tool, that you're given, to repair and maintain your equipment.
I run Stihl and Redmax half and half. I love Stihl chainsaws, but I'm a huge Redmax fanboy because they're meat and potatoes and just flat out work. No bells and whistles, they just run without issues. Love me the hip throttle on blowers.
Good Job bro👍... Your the owner and the one who is using the equipment daily... I love RedMax and Husqvarna power equipment... I used stihl equipment before and we had few problems too... Keep up what you doing, bro... 💯
You are going to absolutely love redmax equipment. Quality products, and they are absolutely worth every penny! I run both redmax trimmers and blowers, plenty of power and made very well. I have never had any issues with them. The bcz260TS is an absolutely amazing trimmer, seriously! The ebz8550 is also a beast of a blower and it’s gave me no trouble so far and it’s my main blower which I use very heavily. Good choice, and good luck with leaf cleanups brotha!
You absolute legend! Lol. I’ve been running stihl and echo. And I’m considering going back to Husqvarna. Because we randomly overnight got a husky dealer out of nowhere. And Husqvarna weed eaters are so comfortable and light!
We run stihl trimmers and blowers. We have had some shaft issues, but when we take it to our dealer, if he has the parts he will fix it right on the spot and we don’t have to wait for it. I don’t blame you for making the choice you made. Being able to do a one stop shop. I am interested in your 800 blower. I will dm you about it. God Bless
I run all Stihl for yrs now! No problems until maybe 3-4 yrs use, when it’s time for new! Run the FS 111’s, BR 800, and 600. Also chain saws, and hedge trimmers. Did have a shaft go out on one of my 111. Got into some crazy stuff for the overgrown jobs for the city. Let us know how their doing. My Ferris dealer carry’s Redmax also✌️
Running Redmax 7500 blowers(no complaints here) and Shindaiwa whippers(no problems here). I've used a leaf pusher(plow) and thought it was awesome, 3ft tall piles of leaves were no match for the plow.
I think the problem with stihl is, at least for us. The blowers we run at full throttle and the trimmers are probably half throttle. The blowers we never have a problem with, we can get a few years out of the blowers. The trimmers don't last long at all and I think that is because we don't have the carb opened the way up.
Nice. I like Stihl but my maruyama trimmer is the go-to tool. Very similar to redmax stick equipment. To be fair, the Stihl blowers are keepers, especially here using them for snow removal as the 4-mix performs better in the cold than any temp sensitive 2-stroke. Just my experience. Nice setup btw
I bought one fs84r rever but another trimmer from them again. The back back blower is awesome . The fs94r has a hard tome starting and the carb broke working 1 yr . I think there going cheaper in parts , plastic etc driving down costs . Which sacrifices reliability . Unfortunately which we try on a daily basis out here for our jobs and productivity .
I have always used red max always good luck I have stihl trimmers pole saws hedge trimmers chain saw always have trouble starting I am changing to all red max.
i use to be in the lawn care i liked huskie my still start hard probley spent over 2 hrs a day trying to start them.chain saw whips blowers ect. i got aome airplane gas just added 2 cups to a gallon and the started 99 persent.. try it
I used Red Max blowers on a golf course I used to work on. They were absolute beasts. The straps were probably the weakest link. I think you'll be extremely happy with your choices you made, Sir.
I run echo 225 weed eater it seem light an cheaper I don’t bush hog with weed eaters anymore so 225 works for me at$199 each i do have red max stick hedge trimmer it’s a beast but I bought 2nd hand
I moved away from Stihl weed eaters a few years back. Loved my FS 90, 100, and 110. When the new series was released (91, 111, etc.) it’s like it all went to hell. Between the carburetor problems and going through shafts constantly, it was killing me. The Stihl blowers have always been good to me. Love my 800. But I moved back to Echo and Husqvarna trimmers and edgers. Can’t complain with those. (Also, just a FYI, Husqvarna owns Redmax. They’re basically the same thing, just different colors).
i love redmax -i liked my strait shaft RedMax HEZ3060S edger so much i drove to Marietta to buy it. They make a great product- My only complaint was after i cranked it up i had to let it run for about 10-12 seconds before it would go wide open. It got stolen and i was sooo upset and didnt have time to go to marietta so i just bought a stihl strait shaft and never looked back. So now Im a stihl guy personally-dealer support is great here. I have never had issues with the stihl stick/blower equipment as long as im running ethanol free fuel. All my stihl stick equipment usually last about 3-4 seasons. i have never taken a piece of stihl stick equipment to dealer for repair. my thinking is after 3 seasons or so of earning i just buy new ones at $375-$400 each. If there was a redmax dealer close by then i would love to have the RedMax HEZ3060S strait shaft edger for all the bed definition-that thing feel so good in my hands and the power off the charts-its like holding my favorite pistol-well built and weight balance is great. dont think u can go wrong with redmax
Yea my Stihl trimmers were killing me. The echo has been great and I went redmax since my mower dealer carries the brand so I figured I could get it all in house now
Good choice man I'm a echo guy but any two strokes are better then those stihl 4mix trimmers there a freaking nightmare after a year of hard commercial usage I had tons of them go out on me I got sick of it and switched everything to echo.
Husqvarna 525 LS or LST is where it’s at in the trimmer world. Imagine the redmax trimmers you bought are the red Husqvarnas. I’m done with the stihl 4mix stuff as well, with one exception- the 800c blower as of right now it’s just the best blower on the market. Best combo of CFM/MPH. Both are important IMO. Most comfortable swings so easily and effortlessly. The telescopic tube is a game changer in tight areas and beds. And the side start is worth it’s weight in gold. Had the 800c for a week it got stolen. So back to my trust husqvarna 570 for now. I’ll wait to see if husqvarna/redmax does come out with the 9500/590-that what rumors and online rumors I am hearing. Imagine they will seeing how the 8500/580 was king of the hill for sooo long. Just don’t see them sitting back and sticking with the 8550/580 mark II-they just cranked the engine up More on them and put a new tube on. I think the 8550/580 mark II is just what the BR700 was to stihl a hold over till they could get the 800 released to market. So I’ll wait to see what Husqvarna does. If they don’t come out with a 590 (RM 9500) I’ll get another stihl 800c cause I did love it the week I had it. I had a stihl 94r for three years that I didn’t really like. Locked up this season out of no where. Then picked up a 91r 4mix.....MISTAKE!!!! It starts fine and all the stuff. I just don’t like the engine. Either idle of wide open. I hate it. Can’t really feather it good. I don’t know I just don’t like the stihl 4mix stuff. I like stihl chainsaws though. I’ll be going with the Husqvarna 525 LS or LST next year. Haven’t decided between the LS and LST yet.
I relate (Stihl)... HOWEVER, what I've discovered is ethanol fuel (even premium) is a major culprit In all us lawn hogs woes. I'm still runnin an fs100 rx that needs valves adjusted every 120-130 hrs 🧟 Wondering what your doing regarding warranty service on the Ferris / my ❤️ is with Ferris but I thought 50m drive was too far / slow season, I'm limping along/ but OCD in researching cuz I'm "the mechanic" as well 🤘 thanks for all you do for the community and most of all Thanks For Your Service 👍
thank you for the support!! Ive tried the non ethanol but it hasnt changed anything on the stihl and all my 2 stroke equipment hadnt had the same issues
I think Equipment changes so much over the years. Some good changes. Some bad changes. Same with Dealer support. It’s a game that we have to play in the lawn care industry. Pick the perfect combo that works best for you do that you can run an efficient business. Right now it’s ECHO/Ferris for us. Same Brands under 1 local Dealer. When quality and/or service changes, so will we by looking for a better Dealer and better equipment. Great video Richey “Oil Slick” Plemons! 😎🔥👍💯
Redmax is my favorite for some reason. Also if you somehow need another weeded as a backup but no willing to spend the money for a new one and you find an older redmax weedeater I believe the g20ls it is the lightest weedeater redmax ever made I still have mine and I love it
Call me crazy but i tried amsoil saber a while back and my stihl trimmer ran like crap and was hard to start for whatever reason. I use the stihl non synthetic.
Hey Plemons lawn care I'm a 21 year veteran retired army and a lawncare owner I recently lost all my equipment due to theft and if you decide to sale any of your old stihl equipment just reply and I will pay for your old equipment just to get back up to speed thank you and have a good day Sarge Lawn Care Services veteran owned and operated.
No matter what you will save alot of money by going with Red Max. I for get who makes red max?? Okay I was doing some research it seems like RedMax is owned by or Husqvarna and is supposed to be a lower step under Husqvarna I would buy RedMax it seems like it's a better deal money-wise and I like the price point like the price one or the equipment.
I’ve had the same problems I switched my stick equipment to echo still have my sthil blowers will eventually switch them out. I’ve bought the Fs94r and fs91r nothing but problems went to the echo 2620’s no trouble at all.
I stepped out of Stihl for the simple reason I did not like the blower options in 2019. I bought anEcho PB 8010 and went on to purchase a 2620 W-E and then a PAS 2620 and put a curved edger on that. Also purchased a H-H blower. The PB 8010 is by far the BEST BLOWER on the Market. I blow leaves where your friends that release from Nov-Jan are 40 plus feet tall!!! Leaf me and my BPB alone!!! The leaves RUN when we fire up. OH YEAH its the return of the DIRT-BIKE BLOWER... BACK-OFF!!!!
I absolutely hate stihl trimmers! I bought a brand new fs 91r back in August and I wish I'd returned it quicker! I tried to return it passed 30 days and they wouldn't take it back! The vibration in the handle is horrible! I'm going to stick with my echo SRM230's that I've owned for 7 years, no vibration and lighter to carry!
Now this is funny because I just finished watching your other video and guessed Redmax only to find out in this video that I was correct!! I love Redmax power equipment!
I was surprised with the redmax, I thought for sure it was gonna be echo. I've heard good things about their blowers just never used them. Best of luck with the new equipment. Brandon Smith lawn and landscapes
Well I knw nothing about any of wat you have except wat they look like and there names (bc it's written on the equipment😁)...I own the 2620 pas system. My freebie toro electric blower is being a(_______) (fill in the blank.).. I do not knw if I want a backpack pack or handheld. (I did find the echo 2620 hand held with gutter attachement (I think that's the one)..around indiana some yards are small (no backpack) other places yards are huge.mayb bp?)...I've seen the 8010 blow, I've seen the stihl blow. I would like to try in person...just to see for myself.. I rambled. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMD VETERANS DAY (I hope I got the right channel...I'm subscribed to so many on hear:-(.
I am with you I have had nothing but problems with the 91 trimmers, edgers and hedge trimmers. I am done they are all for sale. I run exmark mowers and my dealer sales echo. I will be picking up all new equipment on Monday.
I switched from echo to stihl for the same reason your switching from stihl to red max. I think when trimmers are a few years old, they just start to be an issue no matter what brand, where as blowers seem to be fine longer. It’s fun to just go for it and make the switch, that’s what I did. Enjoy 😊
I've heard the same thing about stihl trimmers not starting but the blower works fine. Anyway I'm a 2 cycle guy and just bought a 770t and it great also going to try the 2320 trimmer from echo when my dealer gets it.
I run Stihl and I had all redmax at one point of time and I loved redmax. It just got hard for me to have a dealer close. Cool move it will be great for you!!
I have ran Stihl chainsaws low rpm and power compared to Husqvarna. Husqvarna are power houses run all day long they just want more... stihl trimmers and blowers can't get get more than a year out of them what junk for the high price. I run redmax trimmers and blowers for 10 plus years redmax all the way they put out years of service!
Hey my arm stihl hurts from trying to get them trimmers started. I'm to small to go out and buy all new. I do like my echo backpack blower that i picked up from fb marketplace. You don't really see much Red max for sale on the used market. Might be a reason for that. Can't wait to get more feed back from you about there products and thank you for your services.
great choice!
Great video.
Good choice
You’re gonna love that redmax equipment
I hope so brother
I’ve had three stihl trimmers for two years and have had several issues with them, this was my 4th year with my 260t redmax trimmers and just started having issues with them this year. Plus they are lighter and have lots of power in my opinion

Thank you
Hell Yea, I have the 8550 Backpack Blower, throttle on the tube (Awesome).
And the same Redmax Weedeater !
Love them, and very dependable.

they are strong

You will love the redmax and they're not as heavy as the Stihl. The blowers are great, no issues with mine for the last 4 years....
Yea blowers have been good
Richey, I hate...
That I didn't get more pics when we toured the Kohler plant 😂🤣
I don't have RedMax but great equipment dude👊🧔 See ya Feb
I have found pump fuel bulb on stihl 5 times sometimes you dont need the choke may idle up a tad. If it doesn't start with 2 pulls open throttle alittle restart cranks right up. Cranks one pull rest of the day.

I think that dealer support is a huge factor in equipment choice. Our STIHL equipment has always been dependable but moody.
definitely brother

I relate (Stihl)...
HOWEVER,
what I've discovered is ethanol fuel (even premium) is a major culprit In all us lawn hogs woes. I'm still runnin an fs100 rx that needs valves adjusted every 120-130 hrs 🧟
Wondering what your doing regarding warranty service on the Ferris / my ❤️ is with Ferris but I thought 50m drive was too far / slow season, I'm limping along/ but OCD in researching cuz I'm "the mechanic" as well 🤘 thanks for all you do for the community and most of all Thanks For Your Service 👍
thank you for the support!! Ive tried the non ethanol but it hasnt changed anything on the stihl and all my 2 stroke equipment hadnt had the same issues
Could the blade be used as a snow plow?
I don’t think it would work honestly but always worth a try
I have the same problem with stihl and slowly moving to Echo. Good change it's your company!!
Looking forward to seeing the outcome. Wanna see that leaf plow to.
love Redmax been running them 30 years
I made the same move several years ago. Great move!
Using ethanol free gas is a must
I love my Stihl equipment and get my job done faster
The blowers arent bad its the sticks that give me the biggest issue. After a year of doing everything its time to get rid of them
Great choice, Richey! Can't wait to see them in action.
Coming to a channel near you soon lol
@@PlemonsLawnCare haha can't wait!
Also Husqvarna owns redmax.
💥💥💥💥I switched to Red max 10 years ago and never looked back... awesome stuff you will probably wish you had gotten the straight shaft edger
Redmax is my favorite for some reason. Also if you somehow need another weeded as a backup but no willing to spend the money for a new one and you find an older redmax weedeater I believe the g20ls it is the lightest weedeater redmax ever made I still have mine and I love it
What brand of 2-cycle oil do you use?
I use red max now but I had used the rd armor and Stihl in the past
Call me crazy but i tried amsoil saber a while back and my stihl trimmer ran like crap and was hard to start for whatever reason. I use the stihl non synthetic.
Hey Plemons lawn care I'm a 21 year veteran retired army and a lawncare owner I recently lost all my equipment due to theft and if you decide to sale any of your old stihl equipment just reply and I will pay for your old equipment just to get back up to speed thank you and have a good day Sarge Lawn Care Services veteran owned and operated.
Man I hate to hear that. I’d be happy to but shipping would be tough
@@PlemonsLawnCare Thks for replying keep grinding marine.
You made a good decision. Awesome video
I’ve had the same problems I switched my stick equipment to echo still have my sthil blowers will eventually switch them out. I’ve bought the Fs94r and fs91r nothing but problems went to the echo 2620’s no trouble at all.
i allways trade my stihls in my stihl dealer every 4 years wich my stihl dealer does trade ins on stuff
That a boy. Redmax is slow to start up but cant beat it. I have some tricks to help them start up easier. Holler at me if you need the info.
I sure will brother
Yea boy!!! Good choice Richie they won’t let you down have fun
I've had red max blowers for years and they are wonderful.
I look forward to your review on the trimmers.
Oh yeah it is like having a dirt back on your back lol
I run husqvarna and have no complaints so I'm sure you will like redmax
Great Choice I switched from echo to husqvarna and have no regrets.
Husqvarna ownes redmax.. bought redmax out for thier strato charged technology..
The 230s are great
Now this is funny because I just finished watching your other video and guessed Redmax only to find out in this video that I was correct!! I love Redmax power equipment!
I wish I had a redmax dealer close to my area! I don’t blame ya bro I think you made the right choice.
Thank you bro
I was surprised with the redmax, I thought for sure it was gonna be echo. I've heard good things about their blowers just never used them. Best of luck with the new equipment. Brandon

Thanks brother I appreciate it. The little 2620 handheld is a nice blower
I think that's a great switch. We left sthil because of fuel issues. Didn't want to start and then was inefficient when they were working.
Yep same issues
I am with you I have had nothing but problems with the 91 trimmers, edgers and hedge trimmers. I am done they are all for sale. I run exmark mowers and my dealer sales echo. I will be picking up all new equipment on Monday.
I switched from echo to stihl for the same reason your switching from stihl to red max. I think when trimmers are a few years old, they just start to be an issue no matter what brand, where as blowers seem to be fine longer. It’s fun to just go for it and make the switch, that’s what I did. Enjoy 😊
You will love red max brother that’s what I run and love them.
My uncles brothers moms twice removed stepdad said reedmax was horrible back in the 70's. I'll never trust them guys. (Smirk).
I've heard the same thing about stihl trimmers not starting but the blower works fine. Anyway I'm a 2 cycle guy and just bought a 770t and it great also going to try the 2320 trimmer from echo when my dealer gets it.
Stihl makes chainsaws but the stick equipment is garbage I always had issues we run redmax and shindaiwa
👍🏻
Great choice it’s not perfect but I’ve had less trouble out of RedMax than any other equipment . Does great on those cold mornings.
Good to hear bro
Nice setup mate. I have always run mainly Stihl because that's what I have the best dealer support for. Gotta get what works for you :D
I run Stihl and I had all redmax at one point of time and I loved redmax. It just got hard for me to have a dealer close. Cool move it will be great for you!!
God I hate frikin pin oaks!! NC here and we have plenty
And pin oaks fall twice a year!! Uuggghhhh!!!
Can't wait for the one year review! My 2015 fs70 is Stihl runnin' great and i beat the snot out of it...
hopefully its a good review lol
I have ran Stihl chainsaws low rpm and power compared to Husqvarna. Husqvarna are power houses run all day long they just want more... stihl trimmers and blowers can't get get more than a year out of them what junk for the high price. I run redmax trimmers and blowers for 10 plus years redmax all the way they put out years of service!
How many lawns do you guys mow in a week
Team RedMax!! That's what I run and I love their products. Very reliable 👍👍
