Big run is so stressful, I didn't even notice it wasn't a bomb till I saw it fly back at me

I died and doomed my team once because I accidentally threw and Egg when what I meant to do was to activate my Reefslider to save my team.
I ended up dying instead because it took me like 2 seconds to realize what had just happened.
It was a good team too. They left as soon as we lost...

I feel this line to a personal level.
A common issue with people playing Big Run is not luring bosses, because bosses almost always spawn from the same general area getting too close is a very bad idea so it's better to lure bosses like Maws, Steel Eels, Scrappers, Steelheads, Drizzlers, Flipper Floppers and Slammin' Lids closer to the egg basket for quick and easy egg delivery
I mean honestly that's a problem in Salmon Run in general. But admittedly, sometimes the number of bosses during Big Run makes it so luring is a bit risky cause it can quickly change from, luring to... OH GOD THERE'S 3 Steel Heads, 2 Steel Eels, we're getting mortared with Big Shots, Drizzlers, and Flyfish, 3 of us are dead and...died in wave 1.

This, I noticed it a lot in this video, he and his team almost never lured
Actually, I found that the bosses spawn close enough to the Basket that luring isn’t AS required as it is in other modes. (IE Flyfish are like halfway to the basket)
Just don’t build up a massive pile of Eggs you can’t cart because of the Salmonids spawning, so luring just a little to get them away from the Salmon Spawn Gushers is a good idea.
Scrappers and Flip-Floppers should be an exception.

I know that random weapons is a core part of salmon run (you know, work assigned weapons and that) but I'm hoping one day there'll be a bring your weapon to work day or event type thing, that'd make the game easier, I know, but think it would be interesting to see what the most popular weapons would be
i understand what you're saying, but they probably intend to keep it random so people don't spam one OP weapon load out and get lazy, because that's exactly what players will do xD

Better idea, they make a Splatfest where Grizzco weapons are available. Absolutely nothing could go wrong with this idea.

Step 1: Trust your team

Here are some things I learned from playing salmon run:
1: Glowflies should go to [Garbage can]
2: Use your specials
3: If you can talk to your teammates, say where you are throwing your bombs at [Satin] (if you don't know what boss I'm referencing I feel sorry for you)
4: It's okay if you loose against the Cohozuna. It has way to much health and the constant wave of bosses make it nearly impossible to get power eggs.
On grilled if you have blaster focus the little guys please. I’ve had so many teammates that had a blaster or roller and ignore the small fry.
13_cmi I've realized that one of the best strats with high-DPS weapons is to exterminate normal Salmons as fast as possible. The real killer in Salmon Run isn't the bosses, it's all the normal enemies that get ignored because people are focused on killing bosses.
If you can't talk to your teammates, and there's two of you standing at Satan, throw the bomb on the same side your standing at! It's such a simple way to avoid the bombs going in one basket, but nobody ever does this
@@MadWeegee i always go for the left/blue one first because that's the side that sends missiles to a random player, the right/red one only targets the closest player (so probably me if i've gotten rid of the other one) this keeps my teammates safe if i'm dealing with it alone + means enemy ink doesn't cover other parts of the map

The one thing this mode needed was the ability to bring your own weapon (me and my beloved squiffer) as well as your own gear too (like your turf war match suddenly got interrupted by the salmonids when they came early). Though some trolls might come with only Dynamos and Big Swings. Also the lack of urgency from Deep Cut and Splatsville regarding Big Run at Wahoo is very similar to how nonchalant Floridians are when they hear a hurricane is about to hit their state but they are on the other coast from landfall and know they will only get tropical storm force winds at most.

You DO NOT want squiffer on big run. Anything other than squiffer on a tight hectic scenario
@@Vyloka I love Squiffer, even on Big Run, it's quick charge is useful for taking out hit tanks like Drizzlers, Scrappers, and Slammin Lids in 2-3 shots depending on if your other teammates are helping you. Also can one shot Steal Heads, reach Steel Eels if they are far away, and has the precise shot to hit a Drizzler's ink storm torpedo back at it. Situationally it doesn't do that well against restless Salmonids, and if the fight is at the spawn end of Wahoo eliter is the best charger to use there since it's long range covers both flanks and it doesn't have to worry about covering it's back.
The first time I got the Grizzco Blaster I laughed out loud because of how overkill it is. When you take the time to look its actually pretty low damage but when it fires 80 billion times a second the damage doesn't matter as much lmao

At this point, my teamates in Salmon Run are considered NPC's. Not blueberries, not randoms, NPC's.
Had a teamate yesterday who forgot how to throw his eggs and failed because of it....when he was holding the only egg we needed and decided to swim up to the basket instead of throwing it at the basket....we ran out of time, never made it close to the basket, but was perfectly within range to throw it.
Had another teammate who wanted to play hero and not go for revives....
Maybe the first guy was out of ink?
@@tattisiti Oh I rewatched my footage, dude was submerged the entire time from when he killed the flipper flopper and picked up the egg, to swimming to the basket.
To put it in perspective as to how far he was from when he picked up the egg, the egg basket was in the middle of Wahoo World, and the eggs were at the top of the ramp leading to the middle of the stage, before the rotating platforms.
He killed the flopper, submerged and swam to the egg, stayed submereged all the way to the basket....yea even if he was on empty, he wouldve had enough ink for sure
I had teammates today that went off on their own and left me by myself with seconds left and 2 eggs needed for the quota. Those people made it to evp 400 and don’t have basic knowledge of the game.?

i was 270 EVP and still getting paired with people who don’t know how to lure, the pain never ends
I was also in evp and I was spamming this way so hard
I was evp 400 and got paired with people that leave me to fight everything myself when we didn’t have the quota. I had so many things after me and 2 teammates were dead and the other was off somewhere not helping. It’s crazy that so many players in the highest ranks of the game play like someone in the lowest rank. And they’re always on my team.

Ohhhhh! That's the part I missed! I did everything BUT that in this very.... interestingly explained guide. No other man but JayMoji Splatoon 3 S+ has made Big Run look this accurate.
Big run accidentally taught me that if you have crab and maws bites you, it eats the crab.

The only think I can think about at 11:45 is the one person on the team that didn't get a grizzco blaster
One game I only had the Grizzco Blaster. That was also the first time I grillers during Big Run so it helped out a lot. I got to leave during Grillers for 10 seconds, because of a family thing.
Only got to play a few rounds of Big Run, sadly was working all this weekend and too tried to play (wish we had week long events be nice...) but overall it was pretty fun and crazy! I look forward to the next one for sure!!
I agree. I had to work on the weekend so I only had one day and a few hours to play Big Run, so I couldnt get a high score. I agree they should have it a week event for this and better rewards.
Honestly, it’s comforting to see that Jay struggled as much as I did. Big Run? More like Big Rough. 😔
Step 1. Almost never trust your teammates for stuff like putting eggs in the basket. If you have bad teammates chances are they will waste their specials on wave 1 and will forget about random eggs on the ground that you need.
At the very least they use their specials.. I lost most of my rounds because my teammates decide to save their specials until the last 10 seconds of the wave when the whole map is green.
3:23 I had the same thing happen to me, I felt so awkward... It's like faking your death only to come face to face with your friend 3 months later.
Except more dramatic, of course.
Small tip, try luring bosses. Everything can be lured to the basket besides flyfish, stingers and big shots!

Actual tips for Big run:
1. lure the salmonids, bring a boss to the basket and kill it there. This takes 1/3 the time to gather eggs, meaning more time to shoot.(This does not work on fish sticks, stingers, fly fish, and bigshots. Let's call them backliners)
2. Stay near the basket, only leave to take care backliners. This is good to bring slime heads, drizzlers, and salmon lids, these bosses will move towards the nearest player and will only start attacking when In range.
3. A maws should only be splatted next to the basket. these guys are the easiest to lure. if you are targeted by bring it to the basket
4. The closer you are to the shore the more dangerous it is.Big shot Cannons are really dangerous to be around, if you can lure a boss it's better to bring them to the basket than to kill them by the cannon.
5.Use specials proactively. The best time to use specials is before you are overwhelmed not after it.
6. Look for where eggs retrievers spawn as they will fly back to that spot. Sometimes they'll fly over the basket where you can shoot them to drop eggs closer to your goal.. So you can use them as egg transportation

somehow I've had a super lucky salmon run experience, I put some of it down to regularly getting the grizzco blaster and a focused team :))
edit: however alot of them we end up barely making it or really pulling it out of the depths of constant reviving lol

Well now I can say that the spirit of big run is blood moons and high-blood pressure.
As a fellow nautilus main, I had the same burst of joy when i got it. Especially considering I got it after a solid losing streak and a rank drop.

Lets hope this does get some attention, however keep in mind for future big runs I have notice the salmonids are slightly stronger then normal, not in terms of health or damage, but numbers. I have notice there is a more of them then usual, watch your back.

Been playing a lot of the recent Big Run and I've gotta say. I get those fucking Grizzco dualies all the fucking time
In a big run, me and a few friends were in a discord chat, after one of our matches one of them asked me and another my teammates why we died so often. They then said that I got a pass because I got 21 boss kills out of 43 that my team got in total.

I beg of all players to just simply lure, by not moving at the start of a round and using bombs to take out stingers/non-moving targets it gets way easier to get higher quotas

I just recently got splatoon 3 so I was still on a pretty low level so I didn't have the highest expectations.. But I kept calling them over to finally kill them but they just wouldn't care😭

It really is like 70% who you're teamed up with determining how well you do. Got a high score of 122 eggs in the first hour cause of the crazy ass players who were in there on opening and I've never hit that number close to again. Closest I got was 111 cause I was playing with people who were keeping up with putting eggs in the basket and saving my hyper aggressive playing dumbass. I just got out of a 4 shift win streak with some players and everything else was a fight to try and get back in eggsecutive VP. if you're reading this Rarth and Jinx. You guys were incredible. Also xiao.ruii for putting 43 eggs in the basket in my second shift when bigrun started I owe my high score to you
