  • This regular series of short documentary films was produced in the 1960s by the Special Features Division of the Rank Organisation to screen in their Odeon and Gaumont cinemas - replacing the circuit's Universal News, now rendered largely irrelevant with the advent of television news broadcasts. Marvellously concise and beautifully shot, these colour featurettes, numbering over 500 in total, presented cinemagoers with varied aspects of modern British life.

I've got the previous six volumes and will be buying this seventh volume for sure. I remember showing all these Look at Life shorts when I was a cinema projectionist in the 1960s, It's really good to be able to see them again after all these years.

Well done Network I thought you had forgotten about this series I'll definitely be buying this volume to go with the previous 6 others. Keep them coming.

I can only echo the other two comments here by saying I'll definitely be buying this one to go with the other six. Fascinating shorts from yesteryear. Here's hoping that more volumes follow.

With volume 7 released today (and on its way to me), Network have now released 382 of the original number of 500 Look at Life titles. So there's only 118 to go, or two more volumes, and then they've all been released.
