Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is a brilliant and deceptively simple trivia game, a joy for the whole family and a challenge of wits for even the biggest brainiack. The home game dutifully captures all of the nail-biting tension and heartbreak of the series,
with a few major missteps and some slack production values that constantly remind you that it's all just a game.
To its credit, the gameplay is beat by skipped beat akin to the television show. The tension in any round of questioning couldn't be cut with a chainsaw. Thanks to the development assistance from JellyVision, who really know how to step on a man when he's down (expertise learned from several incarnations of the You Don't Know Jack game show series), every given second can be stretched and wrapped around your throat. When you're stumped on a question, Regis pipes in with jibes and cut-downs that make you wish you were back in mommy's hugging arms. Even when you lose the game, the put-downs don't stop until you're half the man you thought you were.
In my country, Germany is called the show "Wer wird Millionar" and starts on the TV on September 3, 1999 on RTL Television.
This longplay is my first passage through the game. -

Aside from the questions repeating, a rather impressive conversion of the Jellyvision console/PC game, certainly some effort went into it, unlike a lot of GBC licensed fare
I wonder if the questions would repeat less if it had a better RNG. It's actually tough to code an RNG on this basic hardware, they'd be better off just asking you to input a random word every time you play.
i like how this manages to be a better interpretation of the show than the fucking 2020 version.

I had this game. Eventually I memorised all the questions and was a millionaire too many times to count. How I wish it was legit $ lol

I was around 7, and could NEVER get the million by myself.

It is so strange that the best graphics on the game boy color are from shovelware games like this a lot of the good more popular game boy color games look like typical 8 bit games is so weird.
It's not strange. These graphics require storage space and other games fill it up with GAMEPLAY.

I currently think this music should increase pitches on the middle and last 5 questions.
I remember playing this, living out of car with my mom as a young kid.
I was playing it for the Wii, And I'm lost at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
And voila, as easy as that you win a million. You are very knowledgable. 😁 It would have been cool to see what happens when you use the lifelines too.

Yep, a pretty large number of them too across platforms spanning from PS1 and PC to DVD Player games.

I only had the PC versions, but I also got to where I was consistently winning $1 million without a lifeline, just like John Carpenter. (Alternatively, I would use a lifeline just to see what happened.)
