I asked my stylist to relax and bleach my hair. She told me she going to jus shave it off instead since thats exactly what would happen if she did that. I never asked again.
If a client's demanding a risky service, a waiver should've been signed. I believe the plaintiff knew better but was demanding the service and was aggressive about it. I would've refused to do it.
Years ago, I wanted my hair permed (curly) and when I went to my aunt's friend, she said NO because my hair was dyed blonde and she said it would break it. I begged. (I was young) and she was like NO. And then explained to me why and what would happen. She refused and I was glad she did years later when I got grown and grew a brain. The End.
If there was any doubt by the professional opinion of the stylist to a client about a proposed hair process, then said service shouldn't take place, period. What's right is right. the stylist knew better or was not educated on the subject of chemical hair procedures . As the saying goes when in doubt, throw it out or CYA.
I'm a stylist and people do it all the time. Where she messed up is not having her sign a release form saying that it could happen she wouldnt be sued. They teach you in cosmetology school to do that before any chemical service. Because you never know exactly how someone's hair is going to reach because hair is like fingerprints. Its different for each person

The only people that know not to put chemicals on top of chemicals are the one who truly went to school to be a cosmetologist and have license to practice
Angela Guyton not true i have known that for years and im not licensed. but it doesn't make it right that the stylist did it anyway. she knew better so she is responsible.
That's not true. I know women who are so convinced that relaxers and box colors are good that they will relax on Monday, color on Friday. They think they look good although they have unhealthy hair, brittle and bald spots. Some of us still hold on to the idea that relaxed hair is "good hair".
An expert says wear wigs and not weaves, you say no I ain't wearing no wigs. You probably insisted on getting a relaxer, and the stylist should have said no, take your hair and money elsewhere.

I’m a stylist with 22 years experience. In my opinion...the plaintiff was told that she could not get a relaxer done two weeks after bleaching her hair, and at some point between then and the four weeks the defendant made her wait to get the relaxer done, the plaintiff used something on herself at home to relax her roots with less than ‘good’ results. When she finally waited long enough to have it done professionally, she had an adverse reaction to the relaxer the defendant applied at the salon. 10 minutes is not enough time for virgin hair to break off at the root as seen in the photo, and if you look closely- you can see that the previously bleached hair is still intact at the very front of her hairline, which would rule out the possibility that the stylist had carelessly applied the relaxer and caused it to overlap into the previously bleached hair. The plaintiff’s witness was trying to make the point that when things go this bad in the salon, there’s usually something the client has previously tried to do to her own hair at home, that she isn’t telling the stylist.
Stylist here also , and I Agree with your comment , I said the same thing, she did a relaxer on her own hair , and when she described the relaxer process OMG poor old school , she could have simply said it breaks down the curl pattern or something lol, I hope God blesses her because he knows her heart

I feel for the woman who lost her hair and I feel for the hairdresser too. But in my opinion the bottom line is a hairdresser should always have the last word on whether or not she should do a particular treatment that may cause damage. If she felt that it was too soon to put a relaxer in her she should not have done it. Good verdict!
Yes but if the stylist has doubts about doing a service than they should speak up dont be like yeah i can do that that gonna look great on you and then after its screwed up the stylist tries to say they never should have done it in the 1st place that aint an excuse after the fact. And if a client insists on something even though the stylist says bad idea make the client sign a waiver that covers your butt if something happens during the processing you got proof you warned the client agaisnt processing thier hair.

The fact that she didn’t even want to follow the expert stylist’s advice to wear wigs instead of weaves due to the damage that the weave can cause is a testimony to how I believe this lady did not want to hear her stylist tell her she shouldn’t perm yet.
Cynobon .... EVERYONE DO NOT WANT TO WEAR WIGS OR WEAVES.... BLACK WOMEN HAVE BECOME AN EMBARRASSMENT.... I'M SICK OF SEEING IT, SMH... GOD GAVE ALL RACE OF WOMEN HAIR....
NanaPearl pearl... WEARING ANOTHER'S PERSON HAIR ON TOP OF YOUR HAIR/HEAD THAT IS SO DISGUSTING! PLEASE JUST SIT BACK AND THINK ABOUT THAT! PLEASE STOP WEARING THAT STUFF... YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A LIVE VOODOO DOLLL... I WISHED BLACK WOMEN WOULD STOP WEARING WIGS N WEAVES... BLACK WOMEN ARE BECOMING THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WORLD BY EVERY RACE! ANYWAY, GOOGLE THE WOMAN WITH MAGGOTS IN HER HEAD! BLACK PEOPLE ARE GODS CHOSEN PEOPLE, STOP BEING ASHAMED OF YOUR HAIR!
When I lived in Germany, I TAUGHT the hairstylist how to put a relaxer in. And the owner told me, if my hair falls out, they weren't responsible. I told him, follow the directions and we won't have that problem. They were shocked at how my hair became straight AND how it shined differently from theirs when oil was applied. She slayed my hair.
People like her is the reason I stopped doing hair. They demand things that aren't possible and you say no they are mad. If their hair falls out you are the culprit. The money wasn't worth the headache
The stylist should have been more responsible & declined her request for a relaxer, and instead suggested safer methods to straighten her hair or make it more manageable. Her hair means alot to her, so hopefully it grows back.
+Maria Moss: Maybe not very experienced. Not like her friend, the older stylist, who said she would wait 6 weeks after a bleach. This only had a 2 week gap.
I truly feel like the stylist did decline to do it, but the lady was persistent on getting a perm and she did it. Did you see how the lady was looking at the end towards the stylist? I believe the stylist when she stated the lady told her this happen before & she had to get a short hair cut. I feel like the stylist tried to fix the situation, but the demanding, fake, lying lady wanted more. I'm going to be honest AL is just 2hrs away from GA, if I been going to someone for 14yrs, I would take that drive to get my hair done by that person; I have done it before for my daughter & myself.
I'm a man and I used to do relaxers on my hair as well. And is common sense, you dye your hair today, You have to wait long enough until the grows for the next chemical, in the meantime, just wash it and blow dry it. I don't support the hair stylist either... She should've say no, and offer other services rather than taking the risk.
They way she talks about her short hair you would've thought she had hair like Ashley and/or Darnell from Wags Miami.... Girl stop you had normal hair...
But it was still her hair. Yea it wasn't long or how society sees nice hair should look like but it was her natural hair. What's wrong with that? Whether my hair is long or short and if it was just normal, IT'S STILL MY HAIR. Some of yall saying the plantiff bugging but ik most of yall would've been just as upset. Smh
NAH.. AS STYLIST WE SHOULD REFUSE THE SERVICE.. ESP.. WHEN WE KNOW FOR A FACT IT'S A 99.9% CHANCE THAT IT'S GONNA BREAK OFF.. IF THE CLIENT WANT IT THAT BAD.. THEN THEY CAN GO GIVE SOME ONE ELSE THEIR MONEY AND LET THAT STYLIST DEAL WITH THE AFTER EFFECTS OF DAMAGING THE CLIENTS HAIR.. ALL MONEY AIN'T GOOD MONEY.. GRANT IT SOMETIMES.. WE CAN'T ALWAYS TELL WHAT ALL HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CLIENTS HAIR AND WHEN WE ASK THE CLIENTS LIE.. SO THERE IS A PLACE FOR WAIVERS.. BUT THERE'S ALSO REFUSAL.. AS A FIRST OPTION.. USUALLY LOOKING AT AND TOUCHING THE HAIR... WE CAN GAGE IF THE INTEGRITY OF THE HAIR HAS BEEN COMPROMISED..
It's called over processing.. I had that same thing happen to me years ago, when i was perming and coloring my hair.. Even two weeks isn't enough time apart to apply color.. the color is a chemical that straightens as well..
Amanda Imhoff who said anything about racist. 😂. Never did I say the comment was racist and I still don’t think it is. I just don’t see the point of em talking about his skin color.
Girl bye with them crocodile tears. I believe she told you it was too soon for a relaxer and you wanted what you wanted. Then an expert told you to wear a wig instead of weave but you INSIST on having a certain look. Wigs have come a long way and would look much better then those thin 16 inches of thin weave.....like how you get a 16 inch that thin?? Old lady is what that bang is. Roller sets are tired.......step up sis....listen to donte
@@Jas._Darling . . .Oh, I know what it means figuratively. . .but LITERALLY. . . "good grade" of hair is what? I have what is called 3A/3B hair that is below my bra line.....coming from Ethiopia, that messed me up hearing my classmates say to me, "you have good hair""you must be mixed to have that grade of hair". WTF!!! ALL hair, if "properly taken care of" is a "good grade" . . African-American/ADOS women fall in line with their colonizer's deception when they place "grades" on hair.
@@ethiopianabesha I’m sorry that happened to you colorism is such a huge problem. People always think that in order to be a beautiful black woman you missed be mix with something else which is so damaging. In the literal sense though I think the stylist was just saying her hair was in good condition before any of the chemicals were put on it.
She must've had horrible hair as a kid and now that she's older and in full control of herself she's super sensitive about not going back to how her hair used to be. Thats usually what it is when someone is THIS obsessive and sensitive about this stuff
I understand where she's coming from. I don't wear wigs or weaves so I would be pissed if I was forced to because my hair fell out due to the neglect of a stylist. Most of the time you can tell someone is wearing a wig or weave and I personally just wouldn't want that. Nothing against the weave and wig divas. Y'all do your thing!
***** I don't think her bad choice was going to a hair stylist. I think her bad choice was requesting to get a relaxer so soon after getting her hair bleached. You don't need to be a professional to know not to put chemical on top of chemical like that. You would think that was common knowledge.
touch up relaxer upon bleached hair in a short amount of time... you are putting yourself in a position of wearing a wig or a weave... too each its own... and if you gonna to do all that why not wear a wig or a weave...the plaintiff would still have her "good hair"...just saying...
I think that she's so obsessed with her hair at this point, she's in denial about what it can take. The hairstylist should have protected her own reputation and refused to do the perm. It's better to lose a client than lose her profession reputation and have to deal with the stress knowing that you ruined a client's hair.
I'm not the person who wears fake hair either other than the times when I wore a few back in high school and college decades ago. I can understand her being upset, but maybe it's time for her to find other talents, beauty, etc in her life. It was heartbreaking for many women to lose their hair through chemo or alopecia, but they realized that they needed to focus on more important things.
My girl said a wig is like an old lady! 😂what planet are you living on? You live in Atlanta plenty of people can make you a dope sign She can’t even get the tears out!😂 There’s No such thing as “good hair” !
i have classic length hair that's taken years to grow so i FEEL for this woman so so so strongly esp when she was saying how her hair is her pride and joy. even if she was pressing her for the relaxer, that stylist should have stood her ground and educated her on why it was a no-no.
Absolutely correct! Ladies let's focus on getting our hair healthy. I myself stopped dying my hair, and I'm rocking the grey strains that are throughout my hair!
Dontay!!!!!! I'm sick of Tituresa standing up there with that smug look on her face. and she crying about her hair...well what happens is when you worship something and brag on something like that it gets taken away
That smirk at the end on her face said it all. It’s all about the money. I don’t think this was the first time this happened to her. Stylist put your foot down on these woman or have them sign off on these treatments they want against better judgment. It will save your ass in the long run.
She needs to get over it......hair grows back. Its not the end of the world......I can only imagine how she would react under medical treatment-caused hair loss....
Sorry, there are no such thing as "silent alphabets" in English that aren't supposed to be silent. The syllable "tu" demands to be spoken! Everywhere she goes in an English speaking country, her name will be mispronounced. We as a people have got to stop making up fairytales when it comes to names. "Tyresa" or "Tiresa" (or whatever) is different, but it's fine if it's spelled phonetically.
I am a hair stylist and have declined a many of people for this same issue this lady is here for. People are quick to say somebody took their hair out and make you look bad. Nope not me!
Perms make your hair curly and relaxer help straighten or smooth out your natural curl pattern. Both should be done at the hands of a skilled and licensed professional
You don't have to be a professional to know about your hair. i didn't get a perm every 6 to 8 weeks like some people i got one every 5 or 6 months, i didn't need a perm that often so i asked her to pull out the pressin comb and hit them roots lol. so what i'm sayin is you don't have to be a professional to know your own hair it's a little common sense
The stylist lieing cause the lady say she gone back two weeks after she got it bleached..now the stylist saying she came back for a perm a month or two after. the lady say she lieing .but if u know the danger of perming a hair that just bleach you shouldn’t have done it
I can’t imagine what she went through. As a female. Hair means so MUCH. this is devastating. I feel bad for the hairdresser. But I’d have more sympathy had she not asked for all that money in her counter claim. Then says the plaintiff is trying a “money grab” ... nope, that’s what YOU are trying. You were wrong. Pay the consequence and move on. It didn’t have to end up this way
Oooweee! This happened to me while in cosmetology school... I freaked out to See that girl hair melt before my eyes from a relaxer! She told me she hadn’t had any chemicals on her hair and didn’t tell the truth until I got the instructor.. 🤦🏾♀️ a scary moment!
I understand the comments about her getting over herself and it's just hair but dang no one wants their hair to fall the freak out. however if she is telling the truth about her hair falling out before because of the coloring than putting yourself through that again is your business. and she's right people hair reacts differently to things.
I asked my stylist to relax and bleach my hair. She told me she going to jus shave it off instead since thats exactly what would happen if she did that. I never asked again.

Ain't nothing wrong with wigs. I wake up in the morning throw a wig on for school and go.

When you put relaxer on bleached hair, it is like putting nair in your hair it was definitely going to fall out after that.
She's just dramatic. Her hair wasn't that cute in the first place (imo). Smh
Mz_Jazzi_Bella girl right
Big Facts Big Facts

It's her hair tho, ofc she gonna love it no matter what
I agree her hair wasnt cute from the beginning but she waant not being dramatic *her hair fell out*
When I lived in Germany, I TAUGHT the hairstylist how to put a relaxer in.
Not a single tear came out of that eye
Bitch it's an inner cry
Im so used to Jaun being the guard when i saw Barbra i was shooketh
Josiah Edits 😂😂😂 for real
I was like where is my bae Juan??
Love and hip hop Atlantic reunion
I'm a man and I used to do relaxers on my hair as well. And is common sense, you dye your hair today, You have to wait long enough until the grows for the next chemical, in the meantime, just wash it and blow dry it.
I don't support the hair stylist either... She should've say no, and offer other services rather than taking the risk.
Josiah Edits 234
They way she talks about her short hair you would've thought she had hair like Ashley and/or Darnell from Wags Miami.... Girl stop you had normal hair...
Courtnee Wilson 😂😂😂😂😂 so true lol 😂
But it was still her hair. Yea it wasn't long or how society sees nice hair should look like but it was her natural hair. What's wrong with that? Whether my hair is long or short and if it was just normal, IT'S STILL MY HAIR. Some of yall saying the plantiff bugging but ik most of yall would've been just as upset. Smh
🤣🤣🤣
No honestly, I thought her hair was MAD LONG
My hair is way longer than the plaintiff and the same situation happened with the bleach and perm. Its not a big deal hair always grow back.
As a professional, she should hv declined the service. Any educated professional knows you CANNOT put relaxer over a lightening /bleach!
I got me a $275 lace front wig on right now and it’s beautiful🤷🏽♀️🤪
I fell sorry for both, however the stylist should have clients sign a waiver for color & relaxers if you claim they insisted.
Im a white guy. There are some very beautiful black women that are bald. Im sorry about what happened to her
keithfr1 👏👏👏
keithfr1 peckerwood
🙌🏽
Wth do u being white got to do with anything ...
Amanda Imhoff who said anything about racist. 😂. Never did I say the comment was racist and I still don’t think it is. I just don’t see the point of em talking about his skin color.
"Im ball headed!!!This is no joke this is not funny"
Audience: 🤣😃😄😶
I've been growing out hair because of ish like this! She wouldn't even take the advice of wearing a wig, just like when she got the relaxer. Smh!
I’ve bleached my hair waited a whole month then relaxed it, still fell out. Those chemicals are too strong.
ShaunieM h 16 inches of thin weave! 😂
The stylist is not making sense about she "begged me'" you're in charge to have the final say.... She is wrong,
PSA‼️‼️
You CANNOT relax PRE-LIGHTENED HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely, a hairdresser that is pressed by this case. 😅
"I have a good grade"..."I have beautiful hair"...get over it. Do better with your life. You are a grown woman...
P
What does "I have a good grade" mean?
@@ethiopianabesha it means the quality of her hair was good
@@Jas._Darling . . .Oh, I know what it means figuratively. . .but LITERALLY. .
Girl it’s JUST HAIR 😩😒😒 Young??? She look like she’s in her late 30s early 40’s 😂😂😭😭
Shanea Young right
Shanea Young a hard 30 through 40
Oh hell naw!!! It's black hair.
1. Jesus
2. Kids
3.Husband
4. Hair.
5. Family
6. Money
She looks to be in her mid 40's
It’s not just hair. So many ppl have fake hair folks don’t realize how ppl that wear their real hair feel about their hair.
That “Stylist” Has No Idea What She Is Talking About 🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️
That’s unfortunate...never seen someone cry w/o any tears though lol
yt people do it all the time. eg: kyle rittenhouse
I had this done also but I sued
Megan thee stallion face ahh 😂
I was gonna say i know damn well she aint bout to give her $8,000 she still made out like a bandit with the $3,000 for real
Really? Wow. How would you feel when u see your hair coming out in chunks?! She deserves the full amount!
Do better. I understand that we love our hair but..... if your entire self esteem is tied to your hair, you need some help.
MzDrea ! I completely agree!!
they never, ever go together.
She must've had horrible hair as a kid and now that she's older and in full control of herself she's super sensitive about not going back to how her hair used to be. Thats usually what it is when someone is THIS obsessive and sensitive about this stuff
True
MzDrea ! Truth. I just cut mine off and love the natural look.
19:15 Did you see that smirk the plantiff gave the defendant as if she saying," Now! you gots to pay, so pay up!"
Black women we must stop obsessing over chemically processed hair..smh
E.L. C. Facts
No, there are some good stylists out there who know what they're doing.
Her hair was over processed
There are wigs that would have done way more justice than that weave 🙄
“And I’m bald headed 😂”
I wanted to cry for this lady. She didn’t deserve to lose her hair
She's going to lose it again not wearing a wig and again overly processing her hair with a weave🤔❤️🖤💚😘
Dude I wear a wig and I’m 16 it’s not old tons of young people wear wigs
My girl said a wig is like an old lady! 😂what planet are you living on? You live in Atlanta plenty of people can make you a dope sign She can’t even get the tears out!😂 There’s No such thing as “good hair” !
K. J. Carr they never said nothing about good hair they said decent grade
Yeah they fought about it and grade discussions are ABOUT "good and bad"
K. J. Carr
.
K. J. Carr
BigGucci Polo there's no such thing as a decent grade lmbo
i have classic length hair that's taken years to grow so i FEEL for this woman so so so strongly esp when she was saying how her hair is her pride and joy. even if she was pressing her for the relaxer, that stylist should have stood her ground and educated her on why it was a no-no.
DONTEEEE lmaooo I love LA Hair😂💙
The look she gave the stylist after she won LMFAO
This is exactly why I love being natural.
Yes!
Vanity Insanity me too
Wish more girls were natural like you so rare and refreshing to see a natural woman among the sea of weaves and wigs
Reaper yes so sad
Yep! I ain’t got time dealing with the bs about my hair
“Out of the sink... out of the sink... out of the sink” took me🥴
Me too😂
"I have a good grade" 😣😣 Not a good hair bad hair. Is it healthy? That's all that matters
FallnAngel07 yasss
Absolutely correct! Ladies let's focus on getting our hair healthy. I myself stopped dying my hair, and I'm rocking the grey strains that are throughout my hair!
Dontay!!!!!! I'm sick of Tituresa standing up there with that smug look on her face. and she crying about her hair...well what happens is when you worship something and brag on something like that it gets taken away
Exactly!
My exact thoughts
Exactly what I was thinking. All that pride. God don't like ugly
DONTAAAAYYYYYY 😍😍😍😍😍
What was the ruling ? I do not NOT wanne watch another blond black woman .
I got excited too!!! Haha
zionmama 95 I love him! I screamed when I saw him 😂😂
And if you watch the ending credits, he's actually her stylist too
Irma 😂😂😂
Why spell the name Tituresa, but pronounce it tyresa
***** For the same reasons your commenting:).
+CR O: That goes for millions of names where some alphabets are silent or pronounced differently. Commonplace names are straightforward.
Beautiful Human ghetto spelling get on my last nerve 😑 🤦🏾♀️
Good question. I was trying to understand how that spelling of her name resulted in that pronunciation too!
SAY NO TO PERMS
Tia Pringley nnnooooi
We can't all go back natural. I've broke 5 combs. I fully understand using the creamy crack.
@@harrisk426 😂😂😂 not five combs...I'm trying the natural thing. The struggle is real, I get feelings when I see some relaxer at the store.
Perms make your hair curly and relaxer help straighten or smooth out your natural curl pattern. Both should be done at the hands of a skilled and licensed professional
Relaxers not perms
I've heard too many of these cases regarding stylists. Even if the customer INSISTS if it will damage DONT DO IT!!!!! you have the right to say no!
Lori Elhassani makes me think of Michael Jackson’s doctor, he knew the shit would kill him but he did it anyway 🤷🏾♀️
I'm here in 2019 wondering how her hair is doing 🤣
Lol me too
Im in 2020 like girl bye, there are some STELLARRRR Wigs out there
Misa Kei June lmfaoo sameee
December 2020..... girl bye F your hair we got Corona now. Whose doing your hair now!
I am here in 2020 wondering
Lmfao she saw the hair and her face looked like she seen a ghost 😂😂😂😂
You don't have to be a professional to know about your hair. i didn't get a perm every 6 to 8 weeks like some people i got one every 5 or 6 months, i didn't need a perm that often so i asked her to pull out the pressin comb and hit them roots lol. so what i'm sayin is you don't have to be a professional to know your own hair it's a little common sense
AriesAllDay you made a good point!
True
Nobody touches my hair but me
Only Jesus I heard that!
Jesus is The ONLY way to God same
Right 😂
Exactly! If my hair is my pride and joy ain’t nobody touching it.
Agreed. If I do a bad job, I have no one to blame but me. Plus it's free and I don't have to be at a salon for hours on end.
Too soon for relaxer.. Chemicals was too strong for her hair..
Girl, wigs are the business now. My hair broke off. Now Im nursing back, im rocking my wigs
Dontay!!!!❤️❤️❤️
This is one of my favorite judge shows
The stylist lieing cause the lady say she gone back two weeks after she got it bleached..now the stylist saying she came back for a perm a month or two after. the lady say she lieing .but if u know the danger of perming a hair that just bleach you shouldn’t have done it
The most adorable judge on the planet!! 😍
Even when the judge, and the expert advised not to wear weaves while her hair was healing, the plaintiff did not want to listen.
I believe that defendant...
Thay plaintiff was all in for the money.
WTF KIND OF NAME IS TITURESA????
lol
hahahahaaha
lolz. maybe her dad's name is titus and her mother theresa. add together and you get tituresa
Kenyan maybe. Nigerian. Who knows. Something African.
Kuyet Gaiya LOL.
I’ve never seen Dontay so chill 😂
I understand the comments about her getting over herself and it's just hair but dang no one wants their hair to fall the freak out.
however if she is telling the truth about her hair falling out before because of the coloring than putting yourself through that again is your business. and she's right people hair reacts differently to things.
Have a great show Judge Faith keep Rick and God bless make me smile 😊
Her face at the end 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
so she cares too much about hair when our men out there trying to love their life. She ain't that young to talk about wigs.
Seriously. She's so dramatic
Natural is the way to go
judge faith is GORGEOUS
“I have to re live that moment in the bowl”... I can’t help but think about goldfish swimming around
