Marvel's Avengers is officially shutting down, which means we have one last chance to kick this dead horse on its way out. Did it improve? Does it matter? Find out!
"we have tommy smark!" "where's tony" "don't like him than we have colenel america" "where are the avengers" "they didn't show up and sent their clones from the dollar tree universe instead"
Come on guys, in my opinion, it’s a great Avengers game, I’m getting prepared for March 31st for all the content like the costumes, emotes, and all other items are free so I can unlock them all!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I can't imagine how the poor bastards felt when they paid full price for this game only to realize it would be like $5 in a few years! And the fact that all the things they paid for it would be free as well...I take my imaginary hat off to them.
@@wrightfamily7381 I am at least familiar enough with those series to consider them. Death Stranding luckily is at the library, and I have a bad feeling that it's inevitable...
That Ironman exploit reminds of a similar thing in another game called Shining Resonance. The protagonist of that game can turn himself into a dragon and rampage the battlefield absolutely wrecking basic mobs and dealing decent damage to most bosses, this was balanced by the fact that the transformation only lasted a few seconds, could only be used once per battle and in the first half of the game, overusing it would cause him to lose control and start attacking your other characters. Now, the game was originally released for PS3 in Japan only. Years later it was remastered for the PS4 as Shining Resonance Refrain and released globally. One of the additions for the PS4 version, well more like the main selling point, was having an extremely popular NPC waifu being fully playable from the beginning (she was cut content on the original release, and was later added as DLC but you could only user her in the post game and had no romance options, I believe) Now, one of her Kizuna diagram skills in the remaster (basically, buffs you unlock for increasing your affection level with each character) gives you *infinite dragon shift* So, if you romance her, which you can start doing very early in the story, you absolutely break the game. Every single fight becomes dragon shift at the beginning and nuke all the enemies with the power of waifu marketability! Mind you, I had already played the original Japanese release so rampaging through the remaster as an overpowered anime dragon was incredibly fun for me, but since this version was going to be most people's first experience with the game, it definitely should have been thought out more.
Seriously, I think Square Enix is run by someone in the end stages of a Count of Monte Cristo revenge scheme; intentionally trying to kill the company from the inside
@@Darklordjadow1 Meanwhile EA seems to be somewhat redeeming themselves as they brought the Dead Space series back to life with a remake despite being the ones that killed the franchise with it's disastrous third entry in 2013
The first time I played the game i was in story mode. I didn't know i could just jump into it, I got as far as Kamala in the forest with Hulk, said, screw it, didn't want to play Kamala, I was pissed they forced me, then seeing some CZcams videos like this I went back to the game, after 6 months, and started playing the game, I watched a bunch more videos and then I decided to just focus on leveling gear, so I cleared all the crates on the map before I fought, of course some times you don't have a choice you got to fight to get the reward chests. anyways I built up my gear to the point my cr climbed then I found out the best gear to look for and buy, anything with Jarvis shields and Pym tech. I turned my Cap into a tank real quick, I built up my support group of Black window, Thor and Spiderman, I DID NOT GO ONLINE, just single player, I hate online crap, then I kept running the same lab over and over. before long all my group was over cr 55. then I stopped playing, life got in the way. but Caps near invulnerability and the clank of the Sheild bouncing off enemies was great, the game play is repetitive the maps are all reused over and over again unless your inside. The only thing I can say is, it was fun to play Cap until the fun wears out.
In more light-hearted news; EA seems to be redeeming itself with the Dead Space remake. Cuz why bother trying to cash in live service when older games from 15 years ago would do just fine? Now only if EA would undo their massive screw-up with Dead Space 3
Honestly they should have made a "Arkham-like" Black Panther game for just how much they focused on him and his series in that DLC and the Avengers were just "there! Crossbones being there made me wonder if Red Skull was being teased as he's Hydra, who AIM originated from (They use to be their science division) and any time he's around it's either working for Red Skull goals on the side, or doing a plan he's implimenting. He's loyal to no one BUT Ole Red and ugly after all (and his boss's daughter Sin)
4:45 Hey, you don't go and trash talk Mar-Vell! He's one of the most beloved Marvel characters out there (mostly because of the way he died, but still).
Seems like fitting timing with the recent delay of Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game which sadly looks like it could very well turn into another Avengers situation.
Especially since Gotham Knights also reeks of having been another Avengers situation that pulled out the actual Live Service elements at the last second.
@@Darklordjadow1 It feels like WB wanted Gotham Knights to be live service, somehow that didn’t happen maybe the reception from Avengers, and then said “no but we still want the big bucks so we have to have a live service” and just added it to TSS.
@@InjusticeJosh It feels like BOTH were going to be live services, but Gotham Knights somehow managed to pull it out before launch. I have no idea what happened there, but either way: Suicide Squad is boned
Like, going back to Anthem everyone held out hope that it'd rebound eventually... and then it didn't... and that was kinda the straw that broke the camel's back of "Live Services are trash". Like, if Bioware can't crack these, they're just garbage
I've been informed by a few people that Thor is not the worst character in the game (Hulk is) because once you max him out, he gets basically unlimited supers. The operative term there is *"once you max him out"* It takes several... SEVERAL hours to max out a single character. Even after a few weeks of using him for this video, my Iron Man was only level 39/50. Multiply that by 11-12 characters and we're talking months of grind to get multiple characters maxed out- or even leveled up enough that Cap, Thor, and Hulk become distinct. And from my perspective, it was hard to justify farming Thor to see if he *eventually* gets good when there were at least three other characters that START good. Besides the fact that the old "it gets good 20 hours in" excuse didn't work for FF13, and the excuse on steroids REALLY doesn't work here.
i don't mind unlimited supers.... especially the hulk be cause i hate the way he plays... since there are no loadouts(anthem got this right) i'm not min maxing and memorizing what equipment i had to melt the over[over]shield enemies. all of the avengers don't play the same(not to me) the problems is the endless waves of robots.........
Hey DLjadow I have seen some news on a smash bros like game called multiversus and in 90 days from now the servers and updates will be going down for a rerelease next year which I'm sad because in 5 days from now there was supposed to be a season 3 with new stuff coming but I don't think it's going to happen
@@ETG715 Heard it was shutting down; hadn't heard that it was for a rerelease. Maybe they're removing the live service elements and just letting everyone access the whole roster at once like a normal video game! Would add context to Suicide Squad being delayed
@@Darklordjadow1 I do hope it does come back better than ever next year but I'm just upset that multiversus was doing so good until season 2 which the devs said that new characters would be coming in season 2 but only one character ever got released for season 2 which is Marvin the martian and season 1 had 5 characters coming out those being Rick Sanchez Morty gizmo Black Adam and stripe I don't count LeBron James because he was added when the open beta released and there was a lot of data mind characters and others planning for season 3 but with 3 months of radio silence it looks like we will not be getting anything until next year which sucks for people who did spend time waiting
Exactly! I only played two of those type of games and Avengers is one of them. I can’t play to many games that tell me I can’t play the way I want to anymore after a certain time period. It’s MY GAME LOL!
Would you believe that this video convinced me to buy a used copy on ebay? Physical copies of the PS5 version are apparently starting to get scarce, so I went ahead and got one for $22. I had little interest in this game, obviously, since I hadn't got the game before. If the live service model didn't turn me off, the update that slowed XP gains really turned me off. But, considering that they're going to be increasing the XP gains as part of the last update, as well as making the XP boosters free along with all the cosmetics in a few months, building up characters might not be such a soul-crushing chore. The thing that made me kinda want the game was short videos showing off the moveset of a fully upgraded Captain America doing some long combo Devil May Cry kind of shit, and since I am a sucker for combat engines like that, I thought that if there was a possibility that if you could have movesets like that for a couple characters that might reward high level play, then perhaps it might not be all too bad. Again, the update that hobbled XP gains crushed that hope for me, and I didn't think twice on it. So I'm hoping now with the XP feed being made nowhere near as shitty, plus all cosmetics (all $2700 worth of them) being given out, the better performance of the PS5 version, the Sony Spider-man content, and the Hawkeye and Wakanda expansions...twenty-two bucks doesn't sound that bad for all of it. Even if I can't stand it, I've certainly paid more for other games I ended up disliking. Now, for a recommendation for a different superhero game. The Xbox 360 version of the Green Lantern Rise of the Manhunters game. Not a great game, but it has a decent combat engine for what it is, and it has drop in multiplayer where Player 2 gets to be Sinestro (which doesn't make sense in game, since his characters is rarely in the same place as Hal during the story). The bosses are decently designed, but they suffer the most choppy slowdown and unfortunately become the worst parts of the game. If you can get it for a decent price, I say bring Miles over and plow through it in a few hours. Might be a decent co-op night.
I got my copy for free with my CPU about three (maybe two?) weeks after it came out. Either they had a deal with Intel or this was a last-ditch effort by Newegg to purge all their excess keys.
the nft games is stupid off course, in a channel "baitybait" (about NFT and metaverse)he gave many examples about nft games and everyone finish with a very negative value NFTs(without a positive increase ) in matter of months
I was not expecting to see living sound Klaw…. Though this version is inferior because he didn’t get cut into a bunch of little parts by Dr. Doom and turned into lenses so Doom could drain the power of a godlike being and become omnipotent
Yeah, Miles couldn't believe when I told him that actually came from the comics. And knowing his love for motion capture, I'm surprised Andy Serkis didn't want to come back as Sound Klaw
@@Darklordjadow1 At least he wasn’t wearing those weird colored tights he had in comics when he was living sound. I have to say Sound Klaw’s look is pretty cool. Its clear the only group who still had a budget to work with was the people coming up with the visuals
Seriously, the only live service game I ever found fun was "Elite Dangerous". That game provides the entire galaxy to explore, lots of things to do, plenty of different ships and parts for custom loadouts, and even planetary expeditions. Even though the console versions aren't getting updates anymore, there's still a ton of content, & I still have fun with it.
Honestly the type of game I feel that would work good with the live service model are fighting games with even decades old games still being played with some level of tournament play as well to this day and fans of these games would be potential hype for it due it giving the potential of getting their favorite character in the game.
Both single player and online will continue to function even after the game gets delisted, the devs said. The game uses peer to peer connection for online missions.
I can't believe that winter soldier was the last character for this game and the other leaked characters that were planned to come didn't get came and I was ready for suicide squad kill the justice league because the suicide squad movie with John Cena in it was good that I wanted to play the game but when I seen that trailer and when it mostly show the characters shooting people I was sad and also it being alive service game that's really going to be a kick in the pants
@Grima the Fell Dragon Playable characters that were planned or started and abandoned: Captain Marvel Captain Mar-Vell Doctor Strange Scarlet Witch War Machine Falcon Quake Mockingbird Ant Man She-Hulk Vision Wasp Villains that they started working on and abandoned (that I know of): Ultron Red Hulk Maybe Deathlok?
@@Darklordjadow1 I have seen a game created by the developers who made the hack and slash beat em up version of ninja gaiden and that game is called Wanted dead and I have seen the gameplay for it and it plays like a modern version of Devils third I think it's a game your probably not going to like
Let's raise a glass to the (hopeful) death of the Live Service craze, a glorious example of why theory and practices are NOT the same.. IMO, games should be flat price and minimal to no additional monetization, or free gateway with later monetization (because even free games need to make some money). Games should NEVER be both and this game is a perfect example of why.
You say that the base characters are trash, but here I must say that you are wrong, if you level up and put good equipment on them these characters become beasts, Black Widow is a boss killer, Thor is literally a God with good equipment and Hulk? Damn he's an unstoppable beast, Iron Man can even have the Hulk Buster infinite, I mean, the intrinsic bar of the HulkBuster doesn't run out, and it's not a bug, and Captain America (my main) has a resistance and the launch of shield causes spectacular damage, the only one in my opinion that was bad of the first 6 characters was Kamala, I understand your opinion about Avengers and I respect it and you are right about some things, but honestly I must say that I do love this game I play and it's sad to see him go this way
Lemme stop you right there: claiming that the characters get good if you level them up a lot and farm good gear for them feels A LOT like the old "gets good 20 hours in" argument that got thrown around for Final Fantasy 13... and it didn't work for that either.
@@Darklordjadow1 I don't care dude, everyone has their taste in games, I play this game because I'm a fan of Marvel and the Avengers, and what can I tell you? I like it, and to tell you the truth, the characters feel better when you have all their skills unlocked and good equipment and that the combat system is horrible, I must tell you that there is an entire server that thinks otherwise, If I respect your opinion, you respect mine even though it's your channel
Yes, I don't know why this guy says that the combat system is bad, I started playing Avengers a month ago and I love using Hawkeye, his arrow combo is amazing, and the Hulk is a beast, too bad I just started playing the game when it's about to end 😅
I must say in my honest opinion, that it is true that this game had its flaws and errors, but the combat system was not one of them and the main campaign and the wakanda campaign were great, and I agree with you, each person has an opinion about the game
I wonder if game developers will take notes from this on how not to make a game. Probably not instead they probably will look at this and be like "we need to do this for our game".
actually if Captain Mar-vell was going to be brought in, i think my dad would have got the game just for that because that was his fave character, but the rest might have given him buyers remorse soooo yeah
I'm impressed you didn't go further with spider-man's web swinging. you KNOW it's bad when FORTNITE has better web swinging than what you're currently rocking
Damn, I deleted the Fortnite reference from the final script... although it resulted in me not getting tons of requests to do Fortnite, so it balances out
I remember playing it for a bit over the summer, my mom forgot she got it for me lol, and I didn’t love it but I also didn’t hate it, honestly kinda sad that it’s ending support but not surprised
eh i don't care that much about online as long as i can still play the single player story mode i am happy. i just wish we got new original characters like Ant Man or Captain Marvel instead of 3 clone characters like Kate Bishop, Jane Foster or Winter Soldier

What an absolute trainwreck. This really could have been a Marvel version of Injustice, a fighting game with all your Marvel favorites. Or it could have been like the X Men Legends games that used RPG elements with 3rd person fighting. Nope, they went the live service route to cash in on a dying trend and problems after problems.....now here we are. The game is being put out of it's misery. What's really bad though is that shops are still selling this game. Even though it's shutting down and gonna become unplayable you can still buy the physical disc at retail. Why anyone would I have no clue.
I'm impressed that Crystal Dynamics made both Spiderman's combat and web swinging significantly worse than it was 20 years ago. The original Spiderman movie game played better than that.
Seriously tho if anyone chose to not play guardians because of this game you should go back to play guardians it’s actually really good and has better team based gameplay than avengers as well as fleshed out characters and conversations and has dialogue choices and decisions the player can make.
Here are the 3 tips for people who play this game: 1. Use Iron Man 2. Avoid Everyone else 3. Spend your money on something that's actually good. You're welcome😊
I didn't buy it because they made Spiderman an exclusive to Playstation (I'm on Playstation). How ever what they did to Xbox owners is wrong and that's why I didn't buy the game.
Aaaaand you were right about the "S" Squad game. Rockstteady isgoing right ahead with the live service model. Have fun crashing and burning and utterly disgracing the Arkham games AND Kevin Conroy's memory, d-bags! But hey, hopefully the inevitable donation to the library will make fora good review.
Yeah!! I LOVED using that ability in the game, it felt... probably the closest to the PS4 spiderman physics wise. You had actual momentum and could zip around quickly, you felt badass when you could keep up a long good combo. It was FUN!!!
Might as well make the game unplayable. No one will miss this and especially when there's better Marvel games like Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Midnight Suns. Hell, even the Lego games are better games than Avengers. You can literally buy the Lego Marvel Collection for $20 at Walmart (I recommend the Xbox version because on Series X you get 60 FPS goodness if you play on console).
Well, now that the live service crap is diying, we can enjoy of some good AAA before companies find another trend to exploit and get fast and easy cash.
Well they are treading back on nostalgia for games made 15 years ago. Dead Space got remastered which EA did something smart given there massive oopsie with Dead Space 3
@@GreenTomas2372 If they managed to ungoof DS3 with a remake and possibly actually make DS4, that would probably make a lot of money as much as they hate single player games.
I agree what this guy said about Spider-Man. They basically copy his moves from his own game that came out in 2018 and put it in marvels avengers some of them at least.
Hey, I don't know if you know but someone seems to be trying to use your account (or is at least copying it since the message I got came from the MindJack video where I left a comment) to try and do those skechy giveaways that really are just a way for the PC to get hacked. just letting you know.

This is all a precursor to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Calling it now, Rocksteady/WB will announce they'll be pulling support for the game mere months after release and when the player base (inevitably) disappears in like a week or so. And that's just for the game. If the leaked plot rumors are true then that game will die off in less than a week.

I do long for the day this wretched genre of game finally ceases to exist. We've had a couple of solid triple A releases lately that seem to indicate gaming is slowly (emphasis on the slowly) starting to move away from this rancid era of gaming that's been a problem for the last... Oh... Five or so years. Slowly, mind you. We've got a ways yet. But these games dropping like flies... It gives a cynical man like me the faintest flicker of hope... At least until they try the next immensely idiotic cash grab method that only exists to make their games make more money regardless of how it makes the game itself. Put your bets down below! What do you think they're gonna do next?? My money's on that AI generated nonsense that started off as a funny meme making thing and is slowly warping to something far scarier.
@@Darklordjadow1 After NFT the next new craze seems to be remakes of old games, arguably started by the Crash remake from 2017. Because when you run out of ideas resort to banking on easy nostalgia. At least these remakes aren't aggresively monetized to death and are actual games with content, but it still gets old very quick when the bulk of them are about 98% the same game with just new graphics.
@@elin111 I am totally on board with the "remake good games and keep them good" mentality going on. RE4Make actually looks pretty damn solid from what I've seen. I don't think it'll top the original (NOTHING will top RE4 considering RE4 was a landmark of gaming, period) but I am totally okay with this mentality. So long as the games aren't gutted to the floor to push stupid live service gutter filth. I mean Christ, would you rather have a remake of a good game that is also good, or more of the guff seen in the video?
Honest the fact that this game didn’t make back its money is pretty much a sign that the game is dead. It means that the developers would either have to put even more money for new content to hopefully get more people to play. Or use micro transactions which usually causes more players to not bother. So it’s pretty much a sinking ship.

You should chill out dude. I know this game sucks but you’re so angry in your criticisms it makes me wanna disagree with you. For example a story and gameplay refresher for when you return to a game you haven’t played in a while is an excellent QoL move, not a bad one
Guardians didn't flop because of the Avengers game, it's because, ironically, Marvel isn't that appealing of a property. Just look at comic sales or that X-com clone.
The campaigns should still be playable. Avengers isn't a mandatory always-online game that requires an online subscription the way Anthem was. There are a few postgame levels that require online play, but they're few and far between and made for people who've maxed out multiple characters.
@@EarthboundX I had heard that the servers are staying online, but without active upkeep or maintenance; meaning as time goes on past September they'll get progressively less stable.

I'm playing Avengers now and checking out all of the costumes. 'Beating The Odds' boss fight, you are definitely right about but I managed to end the bitch with Bucky. He's one of my best characters right now because I seriously upped his ranged attacks and use little else. It's the stoopydly hard forced multiplayer levels (that nets you higher gear) that I can't survive- partly because the multiplayer is 100% trash and keeps crashing! Spider-man is fun once you get him WAY leveled but he kinda sucks until then. Black Panther I completely disagree with you though as he is my go to melee character with excellent seeking ranged attacks! Kate and Hawkeye were my go to ranged fighters until Bucky and they're pretty badass once you (again) level them up. I play the game occasionally just to level up the heroes more and more. One of my biggest gripes is the stoopyd long loading times for literally everything! But I have SO MANY MORE COMPLAINTS then this and your previous Avengers video. Also in my game (PS4) you're locked into Black Panther for the Klaw/Crossbones boss fight so I don't understand what you're talking about there! You can't switch characters during that campaign fight!
The pattern that I'm noticing in the comments is that a lot of characters are kind of trash until you level them up really high; which requires a time investment that I was SO not dumping into the piece of crap.
@DLJadow Its just been confirmed that the war machine design that was leaked is being given in the next update as a costume for ironman now since they aint making anymore characters
Spiderman's swinging is just so sad looking. How do they go from PS1 Spiderman, to whatever that is? Like seriously; og PS1 Spiderman's swinging, is better than a game released just a console generation ago. AAAA.
But the gaming industry won't learn as well as blind and stupid gamers letting it happened in the first place. Next year, something worse will emerge, people will whine, and publishers will wait until the brains reset. Don't ask, just consume and get hyped for new products.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: considering all the work that went into making Kamala Khan essentially the main character of an AVENGERS game, they shoulda just made a Ms. Marvel platformer game. Woulda saved a lotta time, money, heartache, and embarassment. Plus I liked her D+ series. And all those additional characters for dlc that'll never happen don't sound bad. I mean, the X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games pulled off having pretty much EVERYONE in it. Had a bad feeling bout this game when i saw the initial trailers, gameplay, and press hype which were vague and generic as Hell, not to mention clearly ripping off the MCU insteada doing its own unique thing like Spidey ps4 or Batman Arkham. Oh well, hindsight is 3 yrs ago lol 😆 And yeah, the Suicide Squad game is gonna suck ass too. I figured that Kevin Conroy's voice role is essentially gonna be unused voice recordings, especially considering that abysmal Game Awards trailer. We coulda gotten the DC video game equivalent of Spec Ops: The Line, Uncharted, and Gears of War, but instead it's generic live-service guff that's clearly ripping off the bad 2016 SS movie, complete with black Deadshot, which apparently is explained away as he's the "real" Deadshot, and the previous one in the Arkham franchise is a "fake" who's been supposedly killed offscreen. Tho i have a sneaking suspicion the OG Deadshot will make a surprise appearance and kill off the other one as revenge or something. Seriously, there's potential in making Suicide Squad a bigger franchise, as the original 80s comics and other media can attest, but over the course of the past decade, DC has fucked it up, with a few exceptions like Arrowverse, Assault on Arkham, Hell to Pay, the Robbie Thompson comic run, and the James Gunn movie. Not to mention "Kill the Justice League" is a stupid subtitle.
What is with DC obsession with the Suicide Squad right now, I get they are more mainstream now because of the 2016 movie, but come on its not like everyone likes these losers.
@@tylerbertram7065 Could be a rights issue thing or something. Honestly the potential for Suicide Squad to be a bigger franchise is there. I mean it's basically The Dirty Dozen, Mission: Impossible, Inglorious Basterds, and others like em, but with the DCU coat of paint. Problem with a lotta the recent pushes to do so is that they try to make em more in line like Avengers, Justice League, and any other do-gooder team, when really the members consist of villains, antiheroes, and some nobles, mosta whom will sell em out or shoot/stab em in the back the moment the opportunity arises. Not to mention thanks to the DCU's revolving door justice system, the lineup changes more than Power Rangers. Plus with the way the govt works in the DCU, no matter who's in charge, they have plausible deniability if/when the mission(s) goes wrong. And there's always someone or a group of people doing the dirty work that no one knows or likes to hear about, which makes the DCU just like any other universe.
@Philip Rearich I wish they could just make them straight up villains it's not like it's hard shows like Breaking Bad and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia prove you can make a good movie or show about horrible people and make it compelling.

That's what everyone said Marvel's Avengers, or Anthem, or Redfall, or every garbage online game made by developers that clearly were mandated to make a cashgrab live service they did not want to make
Oddly Thor ended up being my strongest character. You can build him so he basically has infinite super moves. So you can just keep throwing out the lighting super over and over. I felt Hulk was easily the worst character of the game. So damned slow, with no good ranged options. Personally on its base I quite liked the game's combat systems. But when the game is just the basic same levels and missions over and over again after the main campaign, it just got so dull. I disagree that Black Panther plays the same as everyone else. I thought he felt quite different. Not "good" different maybe, but different. Kinda funny how different our experiences were with that Cosmic Cube mission, I had zero issues with it. I think because I tried to play the game in content launch order when I started it last December, so by the end of my playtime I was probably overleveled for it. I had no idea she had an instant kill move, or anything to do with damage multipliers lol. And of course by that point if I was playing as Thor, I basically had near infinite lightning attack supers, that did 30-40K damage each time. All those millions, all that hype before launch, for a 5, or maybe 6 out of 10 game. Bleh. Most of my positives to say about the game are its main campaign. They could have really fleshed that out, and made a really good SP game, which is what Crystal Dynamics is mostly known for. But SP games don't sell 15-20 dollar skins.
Yeah, Hulk was my other choice for worst character. Thor's problem seems to be that you have to upgrade him *A LOT* before he gets good, and it was tough for me to justify investing in him when other characters were fun to begin with.
@@Darklordjadow1 That's true, I recall I thought Thor wasn't very good either until I leveled him up. His RT skills were always bad though, I never used them. I'd say Kate Bishop actually ended up being one of my top favorites as well since her multi arrow attack ended up basically being something of a shotgun. You could upgrade it to fire 5 arrows at once, and thin out the spread so you'd hit a single target with all 5 arrows. And since each arrow had a chance to proc one of your equipment perks, you could basically 1-3 shot most enemies. Iron Man was definitely the most busted with his infinite Hulk Armor though, lol. Man, these positives things I have to say about the game just makes it feel even more disappointing. I didn't hate it at all, but it could have been so, so much more. Hopefully Crystal Dynamics can get back to great SP games, what they are best at.

On the other hand, this review has me all fired up to replay Insomniac’s Spider-Man 😂
That Ironman exploit reminds of a similar thing in another game called Shining Resonance.
One of the additions for the PS4 version, well more like the main selling point, was having an extremely popular NPC waifu being fully playable from the beginning (she was cut content on the original release, and was later added as DLC but you could only user her in the post game and had no romance options, I believe)
Now, one of her Kizuna diagram skills in the remaster (basically, buffs you unlock for increasing your affection level with each character) gives you *infinite dragon shift*
So, if you romance her, which you can start doing very early in the story, you absolutely break the game.
Shining resonance was fun but grinding was hard if you didn't know what you were doing

Square Enix canceled the development of the sequal to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to make Marvel's Avengers. Never forget.

Seems like fitting timing with the recent delay of Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game which sadly looks like it could very well turn into another Avengers situation.
Especially since Gotham Knights also reeks of having been another Avengers situation that pulled out the actual Live Service elements at the last second.
@@Darklordjadow1 They might just do the same for Suicide Squad

Like, going back to Anthem everyone held out hope that it'd rebound eventually... and then it didn't... and that was kinda the straw that broke the camel's back of "Live Services are trash". Like, if Bioware can't crack these, they're just garbage
I've been informed by a few people that Thor is not the worst character in the game (Hulk is) because once you max him out, he gets basically unlimited supers.
The operative term there is *"once you max him out"*
It takes several...
Besides the fact that the old "it gets good 20 hours in" excuse didn't work for FF13, and the excuse on steroids REALLY doesn't work here.
i don't mind unlimited supers.... especially the hulk be cause i hate the way he plays... since there are no loadouts(anthem got this right) i'm not min maxing and memorizing what equipment i had to melt the over[over]shield enemies.
all of the avengers don't play the same(not to me) the problems is the endless waves of robots.........
needing to max out a good to feel like one is kinda backwards tbh... like pick one end of the balance spectrum and stick with it!

Seriously!?
Well, then I'm glad I got my PS5 copy about a year or two ago for $10 new, then! With a steelbook!
I got my copy for free with my CPU about three (maybe two?) weeks after it came out. Either they had a deal with Intel or this was a last-ditch effort by Newegg to purge all their excess keys.

The game has a LOT of problems...but when you say "Thor is the worst character in the game", I can't take anything else you say seriously.

I feel bad for people shilling thousands of dollars on skins in this game
Why? Stupid people wasted money on stupid shit. If you do so while everyone is telling you it's stupid, you deserve no sympathy.
And dozens of other games too.
Honest the fact that this game didn’t make back its money is pretty much a sign that the game is dead. It means that the developers would either have to put even more money for new content to hopefully get more people to play. Or use micro transactions which usually causes more players to not bother. So it’s pretty much a sinking ship.
Yeah, I think the gross monetization was just a desperate move to try and get more funding by milking the die-hard players
I remembered being excited about the game kill the justice league until they brough out the live service thing that made me go

I got the Guardians of the Galaxy game.
Hell, Jim Sterling, who might as well just say that they hate video games, played Guardians of the Galaxy. Proof that even left leaning journalists can come off as sanctimonious hypocrites.
At this point, yeah comic properties are going down from massive franchise burnout.
this is yet another cautionary tale these "live services" never work out as much as just making a good game and marketing it well probaly would've.
Pls review smurfs dance party
Also Wipeout 2 pls
I wonder will the campaigns still be playable after september or will the whole thing just be dead disc space
The campaigns should still be playable. Avengers isn't a mandatory always-online game that requires an online subscription the way Anthem was. There are a few postgame levels that require online play, but they're few and far between and made for people who've maxed out multiple characters.
I think the game's servers will still be online after September. They just aren't updating or patching it anymore after that.
@@EarthboundX I had heard that the servers are staying online, but without active upkeep or maintenance; meaning as time goes on past September they'll get progressively less stable.
@@Darklordjadow1 thanks for the info
@@Darklordjadow1 The devs have said that multiplayer has been made completely peer to peer as of the final content update and that even once the game is delisted, multiplayer will continue to function for those who has the game in their library. No crossplay tho, because Sony doesn't want to play ball, lol.
@@Darklordjadow1 if thats how the multiplayer is working it will implode quickly once everything is canned

Spiderman's swinging is just so sad looking. How do they go from PS1 Spiderman, to whatever that is? Like seriously; og PS1 Spiderman's swinging, is better than a game released just a console generation ago. AAAA.
I think it's because they had to match every character's speed in the game. So one character cannot be much, much faster than the others.
Spider-man looks like he plays like the ps2-3 era games, which is too say not good. Ill stick to insomniac's series thanks

That's...really not saying much.
After anthem game.. I no longer buy games as a service.. It only took me once to lessen that
But the gaming industry won't learn as well as blind and stupid gamers letting it happened in the first place. Next year, something worse will emerge, people will whine, and publishers will wait until the brains reset. Don't ask, just consume and get hyped for new products.
Thor is a powerhouse... After you put time into him. But "it gets better after 20 hours" is fucking terrible character design.
Oh well, hindsight is 3 yrs ago lol 😆
And yeah, the Suicide Squad game is gonna suck ass too.
@@tylerbertram7065 Yeah but ya gotta remember that a lotta ppl bankrolling these things think that comics and stuff like em are "for kids", ergo stupid, and will consume anything bright and flashy.

Avengers. The game that had potential in my opinion. It's just wasted it hard.
I had the same problem with match making Jadow. There's this one time I did a Thor mission as Spider-Man and this one player was Ms. Marvel and kept dying so I had to stop fighting and babysit them. I was doing more damage because I had Spider-Man at a higher level.

22:15, Tell that to Killmonger.
