I remember being 18 and going to club in London and MASE was performing, meanwhile I left my cassette tape on record at home to record this Westwood show not knowing who his guests will be and I had a hang over in the morning and I was blessed with this ! Canibus was the truth. I remember this when it first dropped. Canibus and dmx was a good combo. Both street but 2 different thoughts. And nore was the seasoning that complete it.

Nore was never the best rapper or lyricxist but he always held his own and was never scared to rap with whoever i love it
I remember discovering Canibus and DMX on the same day back in 2011. I was randomly scrolling iTunes and they came up. Back then I was in middle school and the only 90’s rappers I really knew were mainstream dudes like Eminem, Jay Z and Busta Rhymes. I had absolutely no idea you could rap like them, especially in Canibus’ case. They opened the door for me to all the other 90’s rappers like Pun, Biggie, Nas…this freestyle is awesome to me for that reason.
Canibus will forever remain in my top 10. RIP DMX 🙏

That’s what I loved about DMX. I remember listening to the radio and hearing freestyles etc and wishing I could hear those verses again. Then he’d eventually drop those on another song down the line etc. perfect example, his freestyle on the backstage documentary. He used that verse later on on a drag on song.
