A Funky slow Groovin tune I wrote and had fun performing a solo over.
As I produce these videos, I'm finding that it's great to hear myself from a third-person perspective. I can see through the veil of my mind and clearly see the flaws in my playing. One of the greatest flaws in my playing is that I rush my phrases. I need to work on my timing. (more metronome training)
Performing on such a slow funky tune is a challenge. And listening to my solo allows me to feel totally naked and vulnerable. It's painful to listen to myself, but very motivating.
This excites me as I want to produce and record more to perfect the process and improve my playing. This intimacy with my instrument is a joy that I cherish.
