The Fiat Qubo has plenty of space for four and their luggage, so it's very practical for such a small car. A smooth ride means it's decent to drive, too.
Against The kids will get annoyed that the rear windows don't open fully, and it lacks some safety kit. The long tailgate could prove to be a pain as well.

When I first saw the Qubo I loved it instantly and when I brought one and show it to my friends they all hated it. Then I loved it more.

@MrNotadream great! It felt 'vanny' to drive at the very beginning but bearing in mind i came from a ford ka which was really close to the ground. The height on this vehicle makes it easier to parallel park, I've found. The gear shift is fine and very easy and smooth. Although it's bulky looking, I found reverse parking simple because of the flat shape at the back too. Bluetooth would've been a bonus on this car but it is possible to add it. Plenty miles per gallon and the boot is already large but enourmous with the seats down. Plenty leg room and if you just need a car to get you from A to B, i.e. you've no plans to look 'groovy' then this car is a really good buy. The colours available and height of this vehicle mean you'll never lose it in supermarket car parks which is always a bonus 😂

She talks like vans are shit. Vans these days are good and often better than cars.

Not sure why some people hate them as they are actually a decent buy for the money.

Is this worth it? I ask, as want a van, but worry about losing the car. The wife has a Panda Twin air, and won’t release it and take on my Cross Plus 500X. But doing Pat Testing and drive LGV’s, so want best of both worlds. Plus moving stiff to the tip (Become my father as all cars need to pass the bin bag boot test🤦‍♂️). Not looking for brand new, but second hand and petrol as fed up with Fiat Filters!!)

does anyone know if the front passenger seat folds right forward - and by that I mean right forward to lay on top of the seat base so that I can get some seven foot long lengths of wood inside.

It does ... I can even fit a 27.5 MTB inside it without removing the wheels

11 years later and the diesel is not Ulez compliant. So I have purchased a 2012 petrol model that is.

I have a Fiat Qubo, which cost me £12000 with 1500 miles on the clock. When it had only 5000 miles on the clock it filled the driving cab with fumes. I returned it to a FIAT APPROVED DEALER in Plymouth. They "repaired the fault". I then drove to Stoke on Trent. When I got there there was smoke pouring out from under the bonnet. FIAT APPROVED DEALER had forgotten to put the diesel return hose clips on. The RAC filed a report which I took to the FIAT APPROVED DEALER(and now my solicitor). NO APOLOGY. Car had to go in to the FIAT APPROVED DEALER for a steam clean and for all the diesel filled foam to be replaced. When I picked it up and drove away there was a rattling noise. I lifted the bonnet only to discover they had left a pipe disconnected! I took it back. NO APOLOGY!
The Fiat has been plagued with "Limp MODE" faults (on average 2 a week ever since it first went to the FIAT APPROVED DEALER. I had never had limp mode faults before). Often stopping in the middle of a busy road for no reason. It would then sometimes drive ok for weeks then fail again. It has made 14 visits to the garage each time they wanted to charge £120 to tell me there was nothing wrong with the car (diagnostics were never conclusive). So the Car is now only 4 years old. Done only 50000 miles. It broke down in August and has been in the FIAT APPROVED DEALER Garage since the 24th August. Fiat Technical have been involved since 6th October. Fiat technical kept telling the FIAT APPROVED DEALER what to change. ALL OF WHICH DID NOT RESOLVE THE FAULT.
Finally, last week, they traced the fault to the fuel pump. The new pump was ordered by the FIAT APPROVED DEALER and it arrived this week and IT WAS THE WRONG PUMP FOR THE CAR. I am expected to pay for all the time for swapping things that were not faulty. The total bill? £2200. I have complained to Fiat, who don't care. I have been a Fiat owner for 20 years. The newer models and in particular the Multijet engines, are not reliable. Google "1.3 multijet engine" for engine management problems. I am not alone. There are thousands of people with issues.
I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER FIAT.
I pick up the car Tomorrow 11 weeks after it went into the Garage!!!
Anyone want to buy a heap of scrap metal?

it wallows, it bounces, its noisy, its turning circle is pants, its uncomfortable, it goes through suspension units bi-annually but it has sliding doors, a timing chain, carries 500kg without issue.. like a van & does over 50mpg easily or 68mpg with a feather foot. If you compare it to a fiesta for driving experience then you'll be very very disappointed.

I really, really like this car. It's small, high, with a big space. It's problematic, especially the diesel and the automatic. The doors slide. It's considered commercial and non-commercial.

A Fiat Qubo has a very soft pathetic clutch on a 1300 diesel
Comfortable to drive but car started to shudder show the engine light and cuts out
Local official service agent told me it needs a software update
    Done and test R1000 later
    Shudder and cuts out
    Agent says clutch has failed
Fit a new clutch at R19000 later and 200km later
    Yes shudder and cuts out
Agents blamed my capacity to drive a clutch
Agents dont know how to fix this
    Any suggestions
