That scene knocked me out of my massive depression and alcoholism. I cannot express how hard that scene hit me and how much it helped me. I watched it every day to help me get back on track. Scrubs is a wonderful show to help deal with life's problems.
Honestly this show has done the exact same for me. I don't know how but this air of calmness and comfort comes over me when I watch it. I can't actually put it into words but it has helped me more than anything else could through the darkest of days.
When I first saw this scene I had absolute no idea what Dr. Cox was talking about. But as I get older the scene seems to make more and more sense to me. I feel like I finally understand what he was talking about. It might of taken me 10 years or so to understand what in the world he was talking about but....better late than never.
One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship every time. If it’s right, and they’re real lucky, one of them will say something.
The relationship advice is okay, but the performance this actor did here was quite powerful, imo... It's awesome how Scrubs can juggle comedy and drama on some episodes.
It's much more depressing to view each of the videos one after the other without the back story, it's just a lonely man talking about the woman he misses...
This is exactly why I love this show! The writers did an amazing job throughout the series but in the end it was the actors like John C. McGinley that made the show the success that it was. Thank you so much for posting this!
You can call me a sucker, I don’t care, because I do believe in it. Bottom line: it’s couples who are truly right for each other wade through the same crap as everybody else, but the big difference is they don’t let it take them down.
Damnit I just caught the feels. Now there is some lint in my eye and wtf how did that happen from a TV show? Because this was one of my favorite, and frankly, most well thought out and planned shows, that's how. I cared about these characters, and the character progression! OMG Elliot grew and became a strong woman who wasn't the annoying, whiny, spoiled rich girl she started out as. All the characters grew and progressed and made you LIKE them as they became adults dealing with careers and life changes and relationships.
@AsarathWitch got to say that really does go brilliantly with the video from that point onwards, class song as well, definitely getting added to itunes

god people dont't know how right he is till u experience it
God he is so right. One of the best scenes in tv and movie history.
"they get through the same crap as everybody else, the difference is: they don't let it take em down."
The script writer put the words on paper. Dr. Cox puts the words in your heart.
When he says "but the big difference is, they don't let it take them down", I get goose-bumps every time!

Onij Jokuma it's the reason why scrubs will forever be my favorite show. So unrealistic yet the messages are so real.
"And, in some cultures, a chicken."
kills me every time
