    Crazy to think that if he hadn't been unlucky in many of these years, we would be thinking of Alonso as a 5 time champion and possibly even more as he would probably would never have moved back to McLaren in 2015.

      @@Joobral Offically, Hamilton finished 2nd due to more second places. 2007 was such an epic season. We had Hamilton making his mark and Alonso and Raikkonen were in their prime, and not forgetting Felipe Massa's respectful effort in the first part of the championship. I think it's the only time we have really had three drivers who you could say all deserved to win the title. But in the end, I think the championship went to the right man. He made the least errors, and was only really held back by reliability issues. Many people think he was lucky, but we are forgetting his technical issues in Spain and Europe. Mclaren had perfect reliability that season, but Alonso made big mistakes in Hungary and Japan and Hamilton's pit lane error in China cost him the championship. Still, they both did really well though. Alonso had to adapt to the Bridgestone tyres, and had a car that wasn't built specifically for his famous 'keyboard warrior' driving style. And Hamilton did extremely well mentally in his rookie season, not being afraid to stand up to Alonso and was error free till the last two rounds, which, yes, there were his fault, but the team weren't fully blameless either. Now... If only Liam Lawson would be able to show that same fighting spirit Hamilton had against Alonso with Verstappen...

      Alonso lost 2007 because he was penalized for pitting in Canada, when Lewis pit 1 lap sooner and got no penalty. The rule that made Alonso lose 2007 is no longer a rule.
      So much luck in F1, Alonso is probably the best driver after Schumacher and maybe Verstappen. Underappreciated.

    Lost 07by one point despite ron favouring lewis’ garage from race one w botched strategies,a shady penalty in canada for pitting while ham was exempt for doing the same a lap earlier,an unprecedented hungary penalty that team themselves forced fia to impose which wasnt even in the regulations rulebook despite lewis clearly having held alonso for the entire qualy time from attempting a hotlap for which following,in retaliation he was blocked in pits. Still equalled lewis on points, went next to kimi on podium in brazil anyways proving he was the worthy guy to win in the mclaren.10 within a half decent strategy to winning another title. 12,would have won If romain had braked at spa t1, in that damnd ferrari, no season for a pilot will ever come close to 2012, he almost dethroned newey’s mighty redbull twice taking his sheer will to front run title battles to the final rounds..also 2nd in 2013(most dominant rb before rb19,20).
    The unbelievable starts,racecraft,
    climbing 3positions in the first corner to take the lead, holding the record for most places gained by lap 1 to take the race lead,just lost the record last year to max for most wins starting out of p3,9,after having a monster benath him from 2022 wi changes penalties and despite fernando not having won in a decade,for context,seb off his 50or so wins never won starting out of p3,holds the record for carshing or spinning most times out of the lead dude to driver error 5(arguable 6-7). nando ,is second to none.has the unfair advantage of the darkside and more downforce because of his hanging balls pushing the car down. Led indy 500 on first attempt giving up mchonda in f1 untill another mchonda blowup,won wec at 40, le man twice,daytona,said openly wont retire till win in dakar, will probably be involved in a title run 2 decades after his title win,simply the best,absolute undisputed four wheeler motorsport god,belonging to the batch of greats among fangio,clark,hill,lauda,prost and senna.remains only driver besides prost to have had a shortfall of less than 8points for multiple more titles.still fucking and blowing shit up, will officially race untill 45 equalling graham hill, although in modern times and totalling 500starts and its still likely he will continue. Always took his cars to places it had fuckall business being in on more than handful occasions each season for two decades,defying time and the pre requisite barriers around what’s possible w a pilot. Cry harder mate. At the end of the day - Alonso 2x World Champion. Lewis - 7x world champion
      Forgot to mention that he had his hands all over the spygate scandal in 2007. 2007 was also pock marked by some odd drives - bottling it in the wet in Japan. Getting heat by a Super Aguri in Canada (while Lewis sauntered to victory). On top of that, he's a bit of a scumbag - conspired to get his team mate to crash in Singapore in 2008 so he could cheat his way to victory. When things don't go well he turns his fire on his team hence the reason why McLaren and Ferrari got shot of him. Fools the world into thinking he's still the bees knees because he is beating Stroll (despite Ocon handing his arse on a plate in Alpine a couple of years back).
      Had all the talents to be a 5 time world title (not quite Senna, Schumacher or Hamilton levels though). He didn't win those because ultimately his powers of judgement were so bad and well...karma's a bitch.
      Suck on it

    Kimi came clawing back and totally deserved winning the 2007 season. A lot of 'what if's' for mostly all seasons. What if Massa won 2008? What if in 2005 McLaren had a reliable car? etc etc

    • @jeanoltt
      @jeanoltt Před měsícem

      I think whatever happened in 2007, the only result would be Kimi not winning a WDC (although he could try again in 2008). Despite an extremely competitive field, he managed to exploit the weaknesses of two of the best drivers of all time, because they were their own worst enemy.
      With that said, I don't think Alonso would have stayed in McLaren, which would repeat the events of the 2008 season.

      @@tarao666I would say Honda was better across season on 2021. Also if you add 1 to Alonso then also add 1 to Hamilton 2007, they drove same car xD. Also Renault was superior in 2005, so Alonso 2 or 3 vs Lewis 1 or 2.

    • @tarao666
      @tarao666 Před měsícem +1

      @@Atomus87 In 2007 they had the same car, but Hamilton had the favor of the team. Either way, I would not count it for any of them because they both had the best car.
      I really think Renault was never the best car, but I guess 2005 is debatable, but in 2021 Mercedes was the best car by a good margin, but at that point Max was already a much better driver than an already decaying Hamilton.
      Hamilton has never accomplished anything without the best car by a good margin.
