That's where MP3 players came in. And that's exactly what happened. What's weird is that mp3 players were around back then. This toy filled no place in the market. It's just a novelty.
I mean i guess it's good for pop music, but only hearing 1 minutes of a Pink Floyd song Lo Fi and somehow believing replaying it 2 more times is somehow as good as hearing Comfortably Numb the whole way through is kind of delusional. And I don't think this would be good for Jazz or Classical either. Which minute of Bob Dylan's Hurricane out of the 8 minutes, which tells the story of an actual person, do you include? All these issues make it not timeless.
My generation’s version was the Pocket Rocker (like mini 8-track)
Someone else was telling me about those too, those look a lot cooler honestly! Lol
i was still young enough to have to walk at a certain pace so i didn’t ’t scratch my CD 💿 😅
Just imagine if played full albums it would have killed the CD
Imagine having just a collection of these chips, that’d be nuts lol
