If you like history and comedy I highly reccomend the dollop it’s an American history podcast with two comedians probably my most listened to podcast. I actually bought tickets to the live show.

They are so similar in their “yes and” humor and ideas. Effortless.
Conan and Eric Andre would be a perfect pairing.
I think the thing with smoking is,Most lung cancers happen in smokers ,but only 20-30% of smokers develop lung cancer( dont quote on that number)
But there are other health problems aside from lung cancer to be worried about
Copd, heart disease and strokes, oral cancer , bladder cancer.
And conan is righ there is thought to be genetic factors for who develops lung cancer and there are lots of genes identified
I think it's something similar with alcohol drinkers. Something like only 10 percent of heavy drinkers get cirrhosis. I'm not glorifying alcohol though, I'm trying to quit.

IIRC, Churchill had a scotch and soda going all day, but it was in a tall glass and with only enough scotch to cover the bottom of the glass?
One often overlooked variable -- (I actually got from an Indian Yogi!) -- was timing. If your physiology knows a cigar is coming after your noon meal, it can prepare for the assault. Random cigars are not the same cigars received on a set routine.

I self medicated with hard liquor for 30 years. It helped reduce daily anxiety, and felt safer than doctor prescribed mental health drugs. I regret ever trying doctor prescribed mental health drugs,....they destroyed me. I lost my sense of humor, my creative spark, I was unable to have dreams, they muted my libido, desensitized my skin. I forgot years of my memories of my past. I slowly recovered my memories after stopping my medication, but it took 2 to 3 years.

I'm not a smoker, but I wanted to pretend I was a 19th century man, so I did a lot of research on smoking. Churchill probably didn't smoke cigarettes, which have all kinds of deadly additives in them. He probably smoked cigars and out of a pipe. It's well known that the only risks of pipe smoking and cigar smoking are mouth cancer. Also, in the early 1960's, the United States Surgeon General put out a statement that if you smoke out of a pipe correctly, not mixing it with alcohol, not smoking while you have a canker sore, cleaning your pipe thoroughly, you'll live LONGER than someone who does not smoke out of a pipe. Some people have challenged this claim, and I decided not to start smoking because I didn't want my stuff to smell bad, but if you're going to smoke tobacco, do it out of a pipe.
Lol. 1960s Surgeon General statement. I think medical science and knowledge might have advanced a bit since then. Also, any burnt/carbonised material is carcinogenic when inhaled - and anyone in the vicinity of smoke, even when they’re not smoking can inhale that smoke, let alone if you’re the one puffing on the pipe/cigar/cigarette. Maybe try medical reports from today rather than the 1960s.
