#QOTSA #InTimesNewRoman - Hudba
This is the first lyric video where I can't actually read the lyrics. QOTSA always breaking new ground!
😂😂😂 exactly
My first thought. Gave up on the reading after the first verse lol. Incredible song.
Glad I wasn't the only one, thought I was just getting old (and still a bit drunk from last night)...👴
The song is great but that ‘lyric’ video is a headache
LMAO bud, KYUSS>>>all. Most people got into Homme via the Bizarre 95 set, and everyone tubed out after the desert sesh with PJ. Homme after 2004 has been irrelevant & worthless, no one cares. KYUSS is immortal, QOTSA is good but a tepid pop program by comparison
I've often thought that QOTSA could write a banging James Bond movie theme.
Yeah... James Bond on LSD bro
Some heavy "If I Had A Tail" vibes ❤️
I truly can't wait for ITNR. The sound is so very different on this album, yet so familiar. Will ALWAYS have love for these guys!!
The battery sounds like on "Like Clockwork", especially "Keep your eyes peeled".
The way synths are arranged makes me think a lot about Nine Inch Nails sound.
@@galileor.cuevas9739 sounds like QOTSA to me 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Don't know about the whole album but, THIS song has David Bowie undertones even to the vocals!
@@julianprandl2175 TOTALLY agree with you! It's almost as if they pulled one (or more!) sound, riff, whatever; from each album and threw it in a song on ITNR. Almost a "greatest hits" of their own, if you will. I love it!
After listening to "Emotion Sickness" 100x
I'm happy that I have another one to get addicted to
🖤
I'm sick of emotion-ness.
brother, same. I;ve had to have listened to that song over 500 times lmfao
I can't wait to 16th june to listen the whole album 😍

Holy hell. Queens of the Stone Age is getter better with age. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
I'm not sure anything will ever top songs for the deaf buy we'll see
Nice too see all the other true fans hanging round for this masterpiece of an album
No One Knows was my intro to QOTSA. Late but they are my all time favorite band
"If you're hanging around
Im holding the noose"

We haven't heard the album yet so how can you call it a masterpiece?
@@uniquemeek5520 it's songs for the deaf...You can't even hear it!
josh is really getting spiritual in this one.... i really like how he talks about enjoying the ride of life and allowing things to fade. a really beautiful song.
It isn’t about allowance it’s about the realization that willing this world into more is futile with this much meat on autopilot.
That chorus is mesmerizing.

@@marcbasil You read me just fine. Also, saying “no one cares” is to confuse yourself with everyone.
Josh was definitely born to win. I like how he overcomes adversity with some beautiful song writing and genius composition. Well done to the whole band really. I’m loving it all ❤
Nick used to call him 'Mr. Lucky" and it's true. Handsome, 6 ft 5., Amazing musician. He's better than Elvis musically although nothing really touches Elvis as far as charisma and looks, voice. Elvis was like a being from outer space in his good days.
@@captainkirk70 it's sooo dumb to compare him with Elvis...
You should listen to the alligator hour, he's the greatest ❤
Adversity?
Only the strongest survive in the Desert.
Bowie's influence on Josh is inevitable. In this song it comes to light. I celebrate that, Bowie is the god of Olympus in music, and QOTSA looks at him from below, not because he is less (I love this band), but because Bowie is very high up.
Josh sounds more and more like Labrinth-era- David Bowie.
I like.
Agreed! Josh has that same type of dark misty voice also.

Nothing
Nothing
Nothing inside
And there's no reason to cry
Just fade away like love
Clutching
Hanging
By a nail in this life
Desperate always, always looks that way
Free fall from the nest, then glide to the left
A shine catch the eye, so flow to the right
Flying high, realize, there are no more mountains to climb
And there's nothing l can do
Accept, enjoy the view
When there's nothing l can do
I smile
Minutes
Seconds
So little time
Give your secrets away?
Well, whisper in my ear
Every living thing will die
From the king of the jungle to butterfly
Only sin is
Waiting too long
When there's nothing I can do
I smile

Free fall from the nest, then glide to the left
A shine catch the eye, so float to the right

Homme will always be considered a god tier musician. It's not even an argument anymore, it's industry consensus.
2023 is a banger year for rock!
Josh is totally channelling Bowie and i love it!!!❤❤❤❤
Also Them Crooked Vultures and a little bit of John Paul Jones awesomeness in keyboards rythmn sections.. Also it remembers me a lot Led Zeppelin - In the Evening..
Was going to write the same. Would love to hear him do a Bowie cover!
Always a huge fan. This album is a beautiful surprise. Unexpected. Part of Josh’s genius is his ability to write, play and vocalise the dark and light of being human. Thank you this has been gifted during a time when I’m struggling - when many of us are struggling. Hope to see them in Australia soon. Hope Josh is healing.⭐️♥️
Best, most complex and complete band in history of music. What a masterpiece. So happy with the new music
I think this about how sometimes shit just happens & we're not necessarily able to make heads or tails of what we observe, but we just have to accept it.
The guitar part over the tempo change at 3:06 is incredible.
This song is haunting. It got under my skin and I can't stop singing it all the time. Beautiful.
could this be the greatest of all songs ever written in the record of time?

Holy fucking hell am I the only one who wonders where the hell Josh's philosophical inspiration comes from?!
"Just fade away... Like love."
EVERYTHING fades away. Even love. Even things we cherish the most. We gotta deal with things getting away. We CAN'T control it.
"Flying high, realize, there are no more mountains to climb
There's nothing I can do. Accept, enjoy the view
When there's nothing I can do, I smile"
I mean, there's little to explain here. When you reach your goal, the only path you should take is forward. You can't just sit there on top of the mountain and do nothing. You pick another mountain to climb. So what to do when you finally complete all your goals? That's a deep fucking question. I once talked with a coworker of mine who has some kind of PhD in Philosophy, and asked exactly that: "when I reach all my life goals, which are not that difficult to achieve, what can I do?" He simply answered that when you get old, when you keep living, you'll always find something else to do. Another mountain. This part of the song gets me, since it considers the fact that you literally did everything you wanted to do. So, what next? "Smile", answers Josh. I fucking love this motherfucker.
"Minutes, seconds, so little time"
You guys know "Time" from Pink Floyd. I think it's all we need to think when it comes to our time on Earth. Interesting that Josh starts with minutes, THEN seconds in this verse. Basically doing a countdown. So scary when you think about it. We have so little time on our hands.
"Every living thing will die from the king of the jungle to the buttlerfly"
Well. He said it. Don't feel like you're special, buddies.
Josh's writing is just my favorite. So many deep questions, honest answers, crazy reflections. From Songs For The Deaf, to Them Crooked Vultures, then Villains with cool as hell lyrics. I fucking wish Homme released a random book of notes and thoughts, and where he got them. Such a creative writer all around. Looking up to the new album!
I don't have the time right now, but I'll come back to talk to talk with you, if you like? I love these types of conversation!
...here comes the "BUT", however as my first thought was: Do you know/are you aware of what Josh has gone through the past several years?
I believe if you did, you'd understand better where these new lyrics come from.
Unless it's just a coincidence that they absolutely are fitting, considering.
And they are ABSOLUTELY fitting, so.... Oh and, I'm not a believer in coincidences. 🦋
Nice breakdown. It seems so obvious when you see it, he's just got that ability to explain complicated stuff in such a clever way that seems so simple with how he puts it, which is hard to put into words. Makes me feel like I've got a lock on my brain stopping me doing the same but he's had the key for his and thrown it far away, such an intelligent guy.

Thank you, Josh Homme, for being so amazing! Can't wait to listen to the new album in full
I must have listened to Carnavoyeur for the 200th time - and this track is so brutally pleasant and sad at the same time, like riding a bicycle down a steep hill, where you stumble on a rock, fall over and scrape your knee until it bleeds, but still feel the wind in your hair and want to shove bike again, even though you're horribly battered.
I guess that's what life is like, for years you pull your bike up the hill to be able to experience something for a short while, even if it'll cost you an arm and the leg.
Sitting as an apprentice electrician in my leading hands car talking about music and i had only just begun my journey at 19 post rave phase. He was keen to show me all the bands he loved and had loved. I mentioned a band i saw on tv and asked if he liked it. He pointed to the dusty corner of the windscreen on the drivers side and i could see the letter Qotsa written in the dirt from a sweaty finger from an unconcious moment at a traffic light.
He started me on Avon and from then til now at 41 i havent missed a festival show or secret track. Not a desert session wanting. Always considered Joshua homme to be the pinnacle and the reason i learnt to write and play my own music. Im so thankful for all this band, however impersonable to them, has given me and all of us.
My heart will always belong to go with the flow
Equal parts haunting, heartfelt and hopeful.
I must say. I'm poisoned by this music, this is the musical pinnacle of the last decade. The notes, combinations and melodies, all organized in a brilliant way, congratulations guys. Looking forward to the release of the album.
Mesmerising, gives me chills. Can't wait to hear the whole album.
Yeah, this is great. If everything else is as good as what I've heard so far this is going to be one of their best

Amazing song with a haunting sound. Sounds like Bowie and QOTSA got smashed together! Love it!

This song speaks to me!
Such a beautiful song. Both singles have been in my head constantly since the release. New classic in just 3 days
Are Queens about to release one of their best albums right now? These 2 songs are fantastic.
It feels like a mix of everything Homme has done through the years. i really hope this is not the last QOTSA album
Same, really hope it isn't the last one.
Weird, I was thinking the same. I wonder if they'll release this album, and we never hear from them again? Would somehow seem fitting....
I think it's ok if it is the last album :) always leave your audience wanting more an' that
This dude can’t stand still, looking at all the projects he was involved in or leading! We won’t abstain from his musical genius, guaranteed!
I love this song. Some parts remind me of "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak
And a Phoenix arises from the ashes.
Flawless as usual from QOTSA
Good, finally able to get Emotion Sickness out of my head
Because of drug abuse and life being genuinely terrible back then, I've got the Villains CD still wrapped in cellophane from, what, August 2017, so when the new album is out I'll hear both, one after the other - 19 songs instead of 10 (or 9). Wahaha. Loving this new song, got all the hallmarks of classics like 'Wicked Game', 'White Wedding', and Tears For Fears vibes. Great way to end a trilogy 🙌 Close a chapter and turn over a new nug of gold.
Throw the villains album out, you didn't miss anything, and I'm a Super Fan since gamma ray.
@@torys8236 I don't agree. It was good. I enjoy it a lot too, it's fun. But the new album is epic again, fun and serious with gravitas - how's that for a New Roman nod ;-j For me, as a trilogy, Villains works now as a bridge, it feels like a bridge between ...Like Clockwork and In Times New Roman..., a continuation or segue, a foray, an acting out~ It has some very cool moments, whereas both LC and ITNR are one cool moment, each respectively.
Different sound every album (song even), but always unmistakably QOTSA. This just arrived and it sounds awesome.
Are you even suprised? Im just suprised it took so long. This album is already turning out to be insane. Cant wait for the release so I and burn it into my mind 😅

Reached a crossroads in my life where I'm anxiously waiting to see if I can depend on the job I like approving the raise I need to keep doing it and this song coming out the same day has tremendously eased my nerves. Thanks.
Edit: I got it!
Congrats
That ending! I listened to it the first time and I said to myself how beautiful is this song, how much I love the ending and then I got emotional and tears came out. This song clearly touches a nerve, yet I cannot get over how beautiful it is.
This song is wicked good, definitely some Bowie, Depeche Mode vibes to it.
Those lyrics are deep, very Amor Fati….you all know that next track it just gonna HIT based of that ending!
I'm thinking the same thing about the track after this because that ending lends itself to a killer next song.
That's Jon Theodore for ya. I met him when they came to my town about a decade ago. Amazing drummer, and human. I wouldn't be surprised if "What the Peephole Say" (the next song on the album) is way slower and completely throws us off 😅
