Best Bookshops in Bath | Come Book Shopping with Me in Bath and Bristol, UK

- Hi everyone, today I'm taking you with me as I explore some of the best bookshops in Bath and the surrounding area, including Bristol. This was a recent trip to the South West of England, and I visited quite a few new to me bookshops. I visited independent bookshops and chain bookshops on this trip.

Me too. Bookshops and libraries both- totally my happy places. I laughed at myself in the Topping and Company clip just standing gazing in awe of the massive bookshelves with ladders! 😂😊📚
What a wonderful treat. It's probably silly , but as an American, there's always this idea that UK bookshops are better and more magical than American ones. As Persuasion is my favourite novel, I've always wanted to go to Bath.
It was cool to see the Royal Crescent and the Georgian buildings, very Persuasion! I didn’t quite get time for the Austen museum though- good excuse to go again! 😊📚

It’s a beautiful place with lots of history as well as literary things to see. The bookshops were great fun too. 😊📚

So much fun! I'm so jealous!! We have 6-8 indie bookstores in the metro area of about 1.1 million people and a few of the B&N and BAM chains. Nothing like you have!! My suburb does have a great used bookstore, though, that I visit often. Enjoy all of your finds!!
Thanks BJ. We are lucky to have such a lot of lovely bookshops to visit in different parts of the UK. I would say where I live I’m quite far from any independent bookshops, but there are places I can take a trip to to find them! Your secondhand bookstore sounds good! 😊📚

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVED your book shops vlog. While I am totally jealous that I can't go there myself, the next best thing is to see all of them through your videos, so thank you so much for sharing. I think I would really LOVE Persephone Books. I was born in Bath but I'm a military child so I've never actually been there. All of these places are getting added to the list of things I wanna do when I eventually visit!

There are so many amazing bookshops in that part of the country. The East needs to step up it’s game!
I know, right! I need to do one of these in the East but I feel like the bookshops are likely to be very far apart. Might try Cambridge one day but that’s quite a bit further up. I liked that quirky indie we went to in Ipswich. 😊📚
Oh my god, you were in my neck of the woods!!! Storysmith is literally my local bookshop 😮 Bookhaus is also a stone’s throw away and I’d highly recommend it.
There’s actually a ‘Bristol indie bookshop crawl’ happening next Saturday with 10 shops on the trail, and despite the danger to my wallet, I’m tempted…
I also absolutely love Bath. Topping & Co is my favourite bookshop ever, and I’ve done the Mr B’s reading spa. Would highly recommend!
Had no idea there was a Skoob in Bath. Used to go to the one near King’s Cross when I worked in London, and it was awesome.

The book spa at Mr B’s sounds so good, I will have to come back and do that sometime (maybe when the TBR is more under control 😂).
I don’t think I’ve ever been to the London Skoob, but the Bath one definitely had a good range of paperbacks!

Love this, thanks. I picked up a handful of Ian Rankin books at Skoob and other books at Mr Bs on my last visit to Bath. I tried to book one of their 1:1 reading spa sessions but they were always booked up when I could get there. One day... !

We went to Bath last year and I loved it! Hoping to go back at end of June :) Topping is my all time fav bookshop, there are 2 in Scotland so we're really lucky haha
