    Late DELE Akande played the solo guitar in this special album, May God rest his soul. He was a guiter wizard during his short stayed with Sunny Ade green spot band. Listen to Sunny Ade’s Vol 1 Halleluya! Halleluya o!! Moke pe oluwa ko le gbo temi oo, Halleluya o! You will appreciate the gifted talent of late Dele Akande as a guitarist . Long life to King Sunny Ade.

    @groovemonzter - Thanks for replying, Groovemonzter. If only you listened to "Sehinde", which many used to call Sunny Ade's finest LP for a long time, you'd see that the style is one and the same as here. Shehinde was released in early 1971, along with Obey's Board Members; both musicians had a way of expanding concepts in SPs into LPs. I certainly still remember the amber dusk of those 1970 when I used to listen to Ija Pari!

    This song came out in late 1970 and definitely not in '73. Its title, "Ija Pari" refers to the end of both the feud between Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey and the Nigerian Civil War. Both Sunny and Obey sang about the ceasefire that I.K.Dairo and Adeolu Akinsanya, who also cut a single on it, mediated. It's easy to date juju music by the style and the sophistication of instruments; Sunny was far ahead of this style by '73, when he used to jam with Obey at live shows. Obey's version is a must.

    These songs were recorded and released as singles in those days when use to have SP vinyl record plate, and were later compiled into LP with about 12 to 13 songs each plate. I used to have those collections of LPAS1111, LPAS1112, LPAS1113, LPAS1114 before the Vol.1-10 Sunny tide, Sehinde, Afai bawon ja, Ariya odun kewa and so on! Arguably the best of Sunny Ade.

    The other side of this masterpiece is titled late alao (baba oja) dedicated to late col. Shitu alao the head of the Nigerian Airforce who lost his life in 1969. I believe this piece was released in 1970.

    In addition to the comments below by Outreachat and Lfc Ghosen, i think i recall the second side of this cut 45rpm is the number Ibi ishe bari... another masterpiece from the Master GuItarist /General Master.

    • @solaade7860
      @solaade7860 Před 2 lety

      No please, the second side was Alao baba oja. Dedicated to Alao SHITTU . The late Nigerian Airforce boss. who died in an air crash in 1969. his death became controversial because Doctor Ademola that conducted postmortem test on late Alao ‘body discovered bullets wounds all over this body. He was pressured not to release his findings to the public, the Doctor was later murdered by his cook at his ikoyi residence in late 1970. Which brought an end to the mistry and controversies to the death of Alao SHITTU.

      @@solaade7860 I disagree please , I remember this press vividly now ( as being the way I earlier mentioned)and also checked with an elder brother, however don't let us forget the fact that there might have been some variations in the way the tracks were paired on the 45rpm s from a time period to another..

    @Outreachat - Moos at Global Groove wasn't certain about the date but someone had hand written "1973" on the cover so 1973 was the best guess. Your logic seems to narrow it down a bit better though. I'll change the date in the discription. Cheers and thanks.
