Sialkot Fort I Whose Head is Buried in the Wall I Facts & Fictions I Chat With Dr. Omer Tipu [USA]

Sialkot Fort is one of the oldest forts in Pakistan. The city of Sialkot, which is one of the oldest cities of Pakistan, has historical significance due to the fort. Historian Diayas Jee has stated that Raja Sálbán re-established Sialkot city around the 2nd century CE. and ruled over the area between the rivers Ravi and Chenab. Sálbán built the Sialkot Fort in two years (which, at the time, had double walls) for the defense of the city. Raja Sálbán, supposedly, used more than 10,000 laborers and masons for the repair and extension of the Fort with stone slabs and rocks which were brought to the location from Lahore.
Mahmud Ghaznavi captured the fort in 1008 from the Hindu Shahis. From 1179 to 1186, Shahab ud-Din Ghori ruled Lahore and Sindh. With the help of the Raja of Jammu, he captured the Sialkot Fort. The Sialkot Fort was given to the Janjua tribes by Sultan Firuz Shah Tughluq who accepted their suzerainty in that region around late 14th century CE.
The second wall of the ancient Sialkot Fort was discovered by the Sialkot Municipal Corporation in 1921 while carrying out civil works in the city. At that time, archaeology experts from Taxila and Delhi visited Sialkot and confirmed that the stone wall (faseel) was 5,000 years old. Later, that wall was re-buried.
At present, few ruins, including a bastion, are all that is left of the Fort. Among the many ills plaguing it is the growing number of encroachments which are a blot on its face. The offices of the district government are located on the premises of the Fort. And Sialkot name came with raja Sial name

I met Gilani Sahib at least 4 times during my 11 days stay in Islamabad.
He is a very generous man and a walking encyclopedia on Indo-Pak History.
It didn't take me long to become his friend due to his charming personality.

His 28 minute video requires him at least 3 weeks of hard work including permission from the higher authorities to shoot one and endless research on the topic before it is presented.

Thank you gilani sb for sharing about my city sialkot. Sialkot is also my nanka city. Near pull aik there is also a black or gray domb (gumbad) in our family grave yard. That domb was very scary and mysterious place for us in my childhood. I don't know what material was used to build

I came back to UK and have lived here ever since and my children are born here. I am desperate for my children to learn about history of Pakistan, they often ask me question which I often can’t answer due to lack of knowledge.
I have been using your vlogs to develop my knowledge so that I can answer their questions. I am very happy that you have started doing subtitles as my children unfortunately don’t understand Urdu and they can see your vlogs without needing translation from myself.

I am glad that now you can show your children videos with subtitles. This was the request of many of my viewers based in Europe and America. I received many calls and messages that our children are born there and neither understand nor speak Urdu. We want to tell them the history of Pakistan, they want to know it themselves too, but language is a barrier. what to do?. On this, I started this but subtitling on a 30 minute video takes 9 hours at least as it is all manual but I am satisfied that the generation of Pakistanis who are abroad will know about their homeland.
