  • This is one of two(we like redundancy) CCR2004 units we purchased for work to run BGP routing. These will be in place of some ISR 4321 units from cisco which our 1036's were originally intended to replace(and ended up having to replace the ASA's as well, this will allow the 1036 units to just be HA firewalls instead of one firewall and one bgp router)
This firewall is available on amazon directly from Mikrotik amzn.to/3wJdPXY

I just saw this video. I would like to correct you on one info - RB4011 was first one with Annapurna Labs CPU. :)

Need a suggestion CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+ vs CCR2004-16G-2S+ which one is better for radius, with 500 static ip users

The 2004 is a newer device and has better ST performance and should handle that just fine, personally if there's budget for it I might try to get a 2016 instead however.

QUERY ? A ccr2004-1G-12S+2XS SHOULD FAN THE EQUIPMENT WHEN TURNED ON OR WHEN THE EQUIPMENT OVERHEATS AUTOMATICALLY, DOES THE FAN ACTIVATE?

The fan will come on for a brief period when the unit powers on and then is controlled by temperature

Do you experience any bugs with those routers? I bought one first and then read the forums :D Apparently CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS have problem with random rebooting.

I haven't had any issues with mine however that doesn't mean bugs aren't impossible, the CCR2004 specifically has different versions of RoS it was promoted with (6.x vs the 7.x betas) and 7.x was only pushed to stable earlier this month meaning someone using the 7.x software versions would have been more likely to run into bugs(but 6.x had a limit to the ram it could access which was a non issue for my deployment and what I used initially)

How many volt DC for ccr2004? thanks

The 2004 is an ac power device not dc, there are other devices like the 5009 if you need dc or PoE as a power option
